Loved the hot tub, fire pit, and sound of the water.
Best best ever stayed no problems staff was great stayed a few times times with my kids and grandchildren my husband and I are planning our 25 wedding anniversary in one of the cabins ❤
We had a great stay. we went straight to the cabin the cabin was clean (except the porch that needed some more attention)it was large enough for all 5 of us. The only real negative comment would be making it safer to go down to the river ( we were only able to go down once because we felt unsafe doing it another time )so if that is going to be an amenity on your site I think I would address that (but the sounds of the river while we ate out side was so relaxing) and more paper products (toilet paper-paper towels)for larger groups with longer stay would be nice also we would have liked a broom my mom's a clean fanatic and needed to sweep the kitchen but I would definitely recommend to book with you. Thanks for opening your cabin up to us we needed a break from everyday stress and a river runs by it cabin was the perfect place
Our experience was awesome. We enjoyed the cabin. It was clean, beautiful, and secluded. Our kids enjoyed the river at the bottom of the hill. We have been coming to blue ridge for the past 4 yrs. This was one of the best cabins. We will definitely be back.
A River Runs by It was a wonderful cabin. Rustic and clean. The only drawback of this cabin was that the trek down to the creek was a bit treacherous. However, we managed it and had a wonderful time. I had to call the office when we first got there because we had paid for early check-in and our lock code had not yet been activated, but the representative was super nice and had me inside my cabin within moments. Great customer service and we will be booking with Mountain Laurel Cabin Rentals again!
Fantastic experience earlier this year, my 2 friends, girlfriend, and I stayed at the cabin "A River Runs By It." WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I'm reliving it now! Anyways, the directions were a bit confusing and the hot tub was way too chlorinated and gave us all rashes but aside from it the cabin, the atmosphere, the weather, and the area was to die for. We will be visiting again soon.
A River Runs By It is a perfect cabin. The pictures do not give the cabin justice. The amenities are high quality with a temperpedic mattress on the bed in the upstairs bedroom. It has easy access from the road but perfectly secluded from the neighbors. The stairs leading down to the sitting area by the stream are perfect!! We will definitely use your company again for our travels.
Beautiful cabin we had a great time. The deck over the creek is perfect, however its a long walk and many steps to get there but well worth it. The cabin is equipped with all you need, fire pit is a great bonus. Love the upstairs shower. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
The cabin and the property were fantastic - the only issue which wasn't critical - there is nowhere to hang up clothes. Need something either on the back of the doors or on the outside fronts of the closets.
This is a great place overall. Love the shower and the river and the general feel of the place. However the hot tub is a bit lacking. As well as being small it is plugged into a 120v outlet so the water never gets more than lukewarm and the thermometer seems to be inaccurate. The heating and jets can not operate simultaneously. Recommend a bigger hot tub with 230v or gas to make this place perfect.
Stayed in A River Runs By It with a couple of friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. The cabin was great and pretty adequately stocked. I would however suggest putting playing cards in every cabin and, leaving more than one role of paper towels. Also, an extra dishrag and dish towel would have been great. Overall our stay was amazing and we had a great time. However, if you're an older person or someone who minds a lot of stairs, do not rent this cabin. It's lovely for younger people who don't mind the climb, but it seriously a lot of stairs. You can't tell how many from the pictures. But it was enough that even us 30 year olds didn't want to make the trip down to the river and back up too many times in a day, it would seriously wear you out. When we arrived home, Monday my legs hurt like I ran a triathlon just from the stairs to the river and back. Once you get down to the river, it's quite worth it. Lovely deck sitting right on the beautiful river, nice and peaceful. I recommend Mountain Laurel to others and the cabin itself to people who don't mind the climb, as it really was a nice cabin.
