We absolutely loved it here! It was very clean beds were super comfy. Vacasa went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! We definitely will be staying again.

The house/cabin was beautiful and clean. It was spacious enough to hold a group of 5 humans and 3 dogs. We especially loved the deck off the back of the house where the dogs could enjoy time together without worries of them running off. The humans enjoyed the decks as well with the sound of the river nearby.

The sounds of the river will lull you into relaxation as you swing on the porch, sit by the fire or chill in the Jacuzzi. So clean, so comfortable, so spacious, so well stocked. We'll be back!
Jinky H. Jul 2022
The cabin was gorgeous most everything we needed and want was this cabin. Tranquil, secluded, enough beds for everyone. Pool table, hottub, area for bonfire if needed. The only thing I was looking for was a bigger pots and pans for a large group like us. And the jacuzzi tub jet was working for a bit and stop. It pauses for a long period. But overall, it was great. Everyone finds something to do and most of the things we want to do and see we're close by. I give this cabin 4/5
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Jinky, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your feedback as a means to continually improve our home, as well as our guests' comfort and satisfaction. We look forward to hosting you again.

Wonderful place my family enjoyed the stay. Will be back soon so the grand babies said

The cabin is located around the Aska area which is a beautiful area of Blue Ridge. The cabin itself is awesome! We loved the firepit, hot tub, pool table, and nice smart TVs. I also loved being able to hear and see the river. We hope to come back and stay again.

We had a great week at Riversong. The area is ideal for hikers with the many options of trailheads along the A.T. We could see a portion of the river from the balconies but the road is also right at the edge of the property so it wasn't as quiet from traffic as we'd hoped. The house was impeccably clean and spacious, and Netflix on every TV. There we're lots of towels for the week, and the beds were comfortable with extra blankets in the closets if needed. There was a gracious amount of firewood provided for the fire pit. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils, but if you're cooking for more than 2-3 people bring larger cookware to use as the pots and pans are small. There weren't enough kitchen towels (2) and no dish cloths provided so we went through the roll of paper towels provided pretty quickly. The check in time is later and checkout is earlier than a typical rental with no leniency either way so keep that in mind when planning your travel and stay. Town is just a 15 minutes drive to grocery stores, dining and shopping. I'd recommend aska gem mining company over the Lily pad village for both cost and quality. My son and I had a great time playing on the pool table downstairs! I gave the review 4 stars instead of 5 only because we agreed to a favor at the request of the home owner the day before our stay that took 4 hours of activity time from our last day that we were under the impression would take no time at all. Overall, a fantastic cabin with ample room for everyone.

Location, cleanliness of the cabin, bedrooms in each level for privacy. Nicely decorated.

We enjoyed our stay at River Song. It was nice to hear the river in the distance each day. We loved that we could bring the dogs with us and they had a way to be gated on the back deck. There were plenty of supplies and kitchen items on hand for cooking in. Nice rooms and perfect layout. I would have liked to been able to access the river from the cabin, but that was not the case. Tubing was close by which was nice and lots of close by trails for hiking in the area.

Overall, we really enjoyed our time at River Song.
Cindy S. Aug 2021
The home was beautiful. However the advertisement for it was very misleading. It was not directly on the river. You could see it from a distance but you could not physically get to the water.
Manager response:
Hello Cindy, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do apologize for the misunderstanding concerning the river and access. This property does not have direct access to the river. We hope to host you again soon

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. Everything was fantastic. The house was very clean, well-supplied, big enough for a large family to spread out in, and staff were extremely responsive to a question about how to work the hot tub. The location was private but convenient to main roads, town and restaurants, tubing just down the road, and Lake Blue Ridge. The house amenities were perfect for our family and we would be happy to return some day.
Jim G. Jul 2021
This home was spacious with lots of very nice features. Rustic inside and out with many upgraded amenities. It is a nicely laid out cabin on a dead end private road with a circle driveway. Looking forward to staying there again next year.
Nicole B. Jul 2021
Beautiful cabin and so close to fun things to do. Loved having the hot tub and pool table in the home. We had a blast tubing down the river. We didn't want to leave and my kids wanted to move in permanently!
Robin Z. Jul 2021
This was by far the prettiest cabin we have stayed in. It was also close enough to the river that with just a short drive we could go play for the afternoon. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because you could hear traffic from the cabin which took a little away from the peacefulness. Also the pictures made it look kind of like the river was walking distance from the cabin but it’s not. It was about a 10 minutes drive
Manager response:

Beautiful cabin, plenty of space, clean hot tub, enjoyed the outside firepit, it was cold or rainy the days we stayed so the inside fireplace was extra nice to make our inside time lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!
Nick S. Apr 2021

Kelley B. Feb 2021
Home was very clean, beautiful and had all the amenities of home away from home.

The cabin was very nice and clean beautiful place
Rosa S. Jan 2021
We loved our stay at this cabin. It is spacious and well-kept with a fully stocked kitchen (utensils, silverware, small appliances). The cabin’s name “River Song” fits perfectly - you can definitely hear the continuous flow of the river. We will stay here again.

Though the location, river view and house itself easily pushes five stars, our overall experience was lack luster at best.

At $125 per night we may have been able to overlook the list that follows but this was a last-minute holiday rental whereby rates were easily pushing 3x the norm.

Unfortunately it is often the little things that overshadow the overall big picture and that is case here.

Here are the things inside the home we will remember most:

1. We arrived late and after settling in we went to the brand new freezer/refrigerator for ice and water only to find that the water supply line had never been connected. It wasn't until the next day after 40 minutes roundtrip to the store for ice that we found a couple of ice trays in a separate sliding compartment. Quite annoying and a waste of time.
2. Also after shopping at the store and returning back to prepare meals we learned that the largest pot to boil pasta in, for a family of 6, was 1qt. We had to boil 3 pots of pasta and water consecutively.
3. Salt and Pepper shakers but no salt and pepper
4. 3 rolls of toilet paper for 6 people for 6 days. Keep in mind that it wasn't until we were snowed-in that we discovered no backup toilet tissue.
5. No dishwasher detergent provided which might explain why the cookware, flatware, dishes, glasses and cups were filthy.
6. Kitchen cabinets dripping in stains
7. Kitchen counters not secured and flip up when leaned on and kitchen sink caulk and backsplash covered in mold
8. Dishwasher improperly installed and not secured causing door to bump countertops and not close.
9. My biggest personal irk of all - mismatched lightbulbs through the house. We didn't know whether to kiss or interrogate each other from room to room between warehouse white to romantic amber.
10. A/C returns caked in dust
11. No mixing bowls but learned that a trifle dish works great
12. Master bath shower drips, door doesn't lock (in fact all bathrooms wouldn't lock.
13. One broom, no dust pan and no vacuum
14. Hot Tub cover torn, moldy and rusted and no chlorine floater
15. Only 3 fire starter sticks left in box for 6 nights and listing showed gas starter. It was there, but capped off.
16. When we called VACASA the property ID on the in-home binder doesn't correlate to their computers.
17. Fireplace bellows inoperable
18. Outside trash cans overflowing upon arrival

With as many eyes on this property between the management company and ownership the above list simply shouldn't exist.

Not to be a total Grinch, there were some appointments that were really great. The Christmas tree was a nice surprise and very pretty. The new gas grill was great. Plenty of yummy blankets and throws throughout the house. Ample and abundant seasoned firewood. Great views with super cozy decks on each level and a firepit that rocks.
Manager response:
