The Hygge House is named after the Danish word that describes a moment of coziness and contentment, and this lovely home has been designed to perfectly embody that feeling. Beautifully renovated in 2018, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom house sits on three-quarters of an acre, just 1,000 feet from a private association beach on Lake Michigan. Take advantage of the provided beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, and beach wagon to spend your days swimming or lounging on the beach. Afterward, come home to unwind on the spacious patio with a private gas grill, an outdoor dining table, new lighting, and a firepit to gather around each evening. The enclosed yard makes for a wonderful setting for fun and games, and you'll even find a croquet set and a frisbee for some excitement in the sun.

Inside, the sunken living room is the perfect place to gather with family and friends, offering a 50-inch flatscreen TV and a rustic fireplace to toast your toes at the end of the day. Enjoy plenty of counter space and quality appliances in the fully equipped kitchen, and a roomy dining room that doesn't sacrifice the intimate dining experience. When it's time to turn in, you'll find a queen-size bed and an en suite bathroom with dual vanities and a shower in the primary suite, a queen-size bed in the second bedroom, and a new American Leather queen-size sleeper sofa in the front living room. The second bathroom includes a bathtub.

Have stayed in winter & summer & this home lives up to its “cozy” name.
Looking forward to another stay any time of year. Love the fireplace in the winter months & the large backyard in the warmer ones. The photos on the listing don’t lie what’s in & out of the home.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hygge House.
This home is close se to a beautiful private beach and is a very cozy and well appointed cottage. We really appreciated how clean it was and also the undated bathrooms and kitchen. Not a deal breaker for us but renters should just how close it is to the train. We would stay again!

This house was perfect for the 4 of us early in May. It was very clean, not cluttered and had a well furnished kitchen. Everything worked as hoped for when renting a vacation home. One small problem was finding the gate to the Beach access. All in all, highly recommended.

Very clean house. Bathrooms and kitchen updated. Nice location near lake access and restaurants. Large, beautiful yard for kids or just lounging.

The Hygge House is amazing and I recommend to anywho who is looking for a beautiful home within walking distance to the Lake Michigan shoreline.

I’ve stayed at numerous rentals through the “other” app. While I have a secret favorite that can never be beaten (like Ken Jenning’s winning Jeopardy! streak) the Hygge House is my second favorite.

1) amazingly clean
2) amazingly decorated and detailed in every way
3) amenities are though the roof great
4) felt like a pampered guest. Someone even drove out to put the trash bin to the curb (which we were going to do)
5) close to some very good restaurants and quaint stores. Not too far from st Joe if you need a bit more upscale to your visit

This property was beyond our expectations. After staying at another area rental earlier in the summer, we were pleasantly surprised by how well-furnished, decorated, cleaned, stocked and cared-for the Hygge House was. It is truly a beautiful home with an amazing back yard. We loved it and will definitely stay again.
