The spacious living room and outdoor space were great.

Sunset Vista was everything I’d hoped it would be! This trip was planned with friends in mind and our ability to relax. This house was exactly as portrayed in the listing… The views of the lake/location of the house to the lake were phenomenal. This property was equipped to meet our needs during this visit. While we ate most of our meals at area restaurants the kitchen would meet most basic cook’s needs. The dining area, sitting area by the fireplace, and the sitting area by the TV were comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed. This property’s value was exceptional!

I had a long term project in New Buffalo over the months of Mid January- Mid March. Providing housing for employees along with the other fringe benefits necessary for out of town work alongside of having a place to operate a home office was going to be a challenge. Hotel rooms, fast food, take out and or delivery outside the occasional opportunity to dine out is very difficult, cumbersome and costly over a long period of time when you add this to your daily work schedule. Vacassa was very accommodating in securing a fantastic monthly rate that was far less than a hotel. In doing so, our team was able to have a home base they could return to at the end of each day with all of the provisions and comforts of home. Granted, there were 4 individuals in the house; but, there were 3 rooms two full baths, a complete kitchen, laundry room and enough space for privacy if needed. Individuals could easily prepare breakfast and lunches and utilize the kitchen for dinners. It was very comforting knowing that there was no need to shower, get dressed and go find something to eat or order take out every evening. We were all able to relax at the end of the day and prepare meals, do laundry or simply enjoy some privacy for personal needs. Personally, having yhe space allowed me to have a mobile office with all of the necessary amenities necessary to operate as if I were in my own office. Local management and staff were exceptionally pleasant, friendly and punctual on any issues that needed addressed. I would recommend using this service to anyone needing an extended stay either professionally or leisurely. Especially, to the team local to New Buffalo, Mi. They are a true asset to the community and the Vacassa brand.

Where is New Buffalo, MI?

Harbor Country is the gateway to Michigan, especially for travelers heading northeast on Interstate 94. Just 70 miles from downtown Chicago, the town of New Buffalo is just moments off the highway, but feels completely separated from the hustle and bustle. New Buffalo is the largest of the eight communities that make up Harbor Country, offering plenty of activities for the whole family or just a romantic getaway.

Things to do in New Buffalo, MI

Visitors flock to our New Buffalo cabin rentals to slow down and savor the beauty of Lake Michigan. With the largest public beach in the entire Harbor Country region, this town is a popular spot for doing just that. Spend a sunny afternoon playing on the sand, use the launch area for a boating adventure, or swim in the waters. Lake Michigan is enormous, and it’s easy to forget you aren’t actually on the ocean as the wind gently whips up small white-caps.

Galien River County Park is a great spot for a morning jog, bird-watching stroll, or kayak adventure. Trails meander through trees and over marshland, and there’s even a playground for the kids to enjoy. In the autumn, it’s a stress-free way to access some beautiful foliage as the flat trails pass through tunnels of trees.

Be sure to stroll along the harbor—the largest in the aptly-named Harbor Country—and stop at the Stray Dog Bar and Grill. This New Buffalo staple rests right on the water, where you can watch the comings and goings of boats as you dine on anything from burgers to pizza to tacos. In the warmer months, the rooftop bar is open, where you can enjoy a cocktail paired with spectacular lakeside sunsets.

Lake Michigan’s Harbor Country is a truly special place. If you’re seeking respite from the hecticness of everyday life, book one of our New Buffalo vacation rentals today.
