What's nearby:
This cottage has its own view of peaceful Beale Pond, on a quiet cul-de-sac featuring a spectacular view of Townsend Gut, the ocean passage for small and large ocean vessels between Southport Island and the mainland. It is also within walking distance of Robinson's Wharf eatery, where lobster boats bring their catch, and the Southport Swing Bridge, a local favorite for ocean fishing and boat-watching. The cottage is a short drive from delightful Cozy Harbor, an iconic Maine village with delicious dining, a public dock along the rocky coast for watching sailing and lobster boats come and go, stirring sunsets, and unforgettable coastal scenery.

The home is also within a 10-minute drive to Hendricks Head Beach, an ocean beach with dramatic 9-foot tides, a small island for rock climbing and jumping off of, ocean kayaking, and the easy Hendricks Head Hiking Trail. (Large sandy beaches with crashing waves, such as Reid State Park, Popham Beach, and Pemaquid, are within an hour's drive of the cottage.). Charming Boothbay Harbor (three miles away), the largest boat harbor north of Boston, abounds with fresh seafood, quaint cafes and shops, and endless recreation opportunities on the fresh, Mid-coast ocean waters, including whale-watching, lighthouse, clambake and puffin cruises, and what has been described as the “best sea kayaking in Maine.” Nearby Southport Memorial Library, the Boothbay Historical Society and Hendrick's Hill Museum will pique the interest of history buffs and readers, and the Boothbay Railway Village with its genuine narrow-gauge railroad and the antique auto exhibit is a fun and informative trip into local history.

We didn’t originally choose this place but after the previous place we rented was sold, we were given several options and this was the closest to our wedding venue. This place was cute, but very small! There is an excellent view of the water right behind that you can see from the bed. Bed was comfortable and it did the trick.
Being that it was so small, it would have been nice to have some suitcase stands or something as there was no real good place to store them. (Even harder since we had a full suitcase for wedding stuff!)
Space heater that was provided is ancient, full of dust and doesn’t stand up on its own. We ended up not using it because the smell was horrible and we were afraid it was going to catch fire.
Lots of cob webs everywhere, especially behind the side tables that look like they’ve been there a while.
Water pressure in the shower wasn’t the greatest and there is no stove but there was a hot plate, toaster, microwave and a small coffee pot.
There is no real walkway to the cottage from the car so you have to walk through the grass. Was a bit tall and we brought a tick in with us so just be on guard for that!
Overall, it served it’s purpose and we would tell anyone who wants to rent it, to be prepared for tight quarters!

This is a charming little cottage located in a private setting only 10 minutes from Boothbay Harbor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will book it again next time we are in the area.

This cottage, while attractive, neat and pleasant is way too small for two adults. No bathroom sink and mirror. A man has to shave over the galley sink without a mirror. Hot water is sufficient for one shower, but not two.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback, Joseph. We are happy that you enjoyed the look of the home. We make every effort to present clear, accurate descriptions of our homes in order for guests to make informed decisions on their rental choices. We encourage guests to reach out with any questions or concerns prior to booking, as we are happy to help. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

We had a great stay a robin has a nest up on the front porch it was so awesome to watch her and the daddy fly in and out and feed the babies. They gotten so big in our four days there. One little baby was at then end of the nest look like he wanted to take off. I'm saying few more days and they will be flying.wish I could had been here to see them take there first flight. Saw a deer also. Great place for a couple for sure. The cottage was nice and clean thanks to the housekeeper well done.
