Charming Home w/ Hardwood Floors, Free WiFi, Furnished Patio, & Gas Grill

Escape to this cozy and classic, two-story home - perfect for a family vacation or couples retreat. This is one of the oldest homes in the historic town of Fredericksburg; it was built back in 1848 by Julius Splittgerber, an original settler and one of the first Sheriffs of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County! Whip up quick snacks or full-course dinners in the well-equipped kitchen, dine together at the adjacent table for four, and then settle in for relaxing evenings in the front living area complete with a flatscreen TV. This vacation rental also features a furnished sunroom - perfect for lazy afternoons with a cup of tea and a good book. This home is almost always covered in shade by the five large, mature pecan trees surrounding it and nestled in the quant landscaping.

This home is just a couple of blocks from Main Street, Hondo's, Crossroads, the Pioneer Memorial Museum, art galleries, many German restaurants, shopping, wineries, breweries, Vereins Kirche, and historic Markt Platz, the frequent site of festivals and the seasonal farmers market. If you're looking for cozy, country charm within walking distance to town, this is the place! Love the sunroom and stone cottage look of this historic home. We enjoyed it very much. Sleeps 6 easily and has plenty of towels for the family. Would love to return when we go back. Thank you!

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time in Fredericksburg. The house had everything that you need. We really loved the details that the owners put into decorating. We enjoyed reading history of the house. We were so excited to know that we could stay in some thing as old as this house. We utilized the fire pit two of three of the nights and really enjoyed the patio with the lighting. Also having a grill was so nice. We made a Nice steak and shrimp dinner at the house. H-E-B was only five minutes away. Everything about this house is fantastic. This accommodated our family of two adults and three children very comfortably. We would definitely stay again. Our only complaint is that it would be nice to have a little more silverware and definitely a few more trash bags.
Also on a sidenote Hondo‘s was a great restaurant to eat at and if you are going to enchanted rock unfortunately we were unaware but you have to have a reservations. It may be a Covid thing I guess.

Our Airbnb fell thru at the last min and we were able to book here instead. Lifesaver! The house was great and also interesting historically.
