From sunrise to nightfall, this house has to have the best view of anywhere we've stayed, with unobstructed views of the entire span of the ocean, which was clear and beautiful, despite Hurricane Ian moving close by. At night, with little to no light pollution, the stars and falling meteors were amazing to see, especially with the relaxing sounds of the ocean in the background. The house also had plenty of room for nine of us, giving us plenty of space to spread out between the two decks that span the length of the house, as well as a smaller deck on the front side of the house. There was also plenty of parking and space under the house to store all of our extras (chairs, floats, fishing gear, etc.).
As far as the location goes, we loved it. It wasn't in a big, crowded city, but was only about a twenty-to-thirty-minute drive to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Even so, two of the best restaurants we ate at were both in Fort Morgan: Tacky Jacks and Sassy Bass Island Grill (the one on Plantation Road behind Kiva Dunes Resort). All of us really enjoyed walking around the Fort Morgan Historical Site, too, which costs $8/person. The beach was literally our backyard and was never crowded.
The only thing we all wish the house had were blinds over the doors, since they opened to a communal porch that we all shared, so there was no privacy. Also, the master bath upstairs has no door or shower curtain, so that was also a privacy issue. There also weren't any dressers for clothes, so we all had to keep everything in our suitcases. Even with these small issues, we'd all happily stay at The Blue Whale again.
NOTE: There were sand spurs around the outside of house, which stuck in our feet and our dog's paws, so be mindful of those because they hurt. Also, the biting flies were REALLY bad on the beach at times, so take bug spray, just in case.

Clean, spacious, right on the beach. Lots of places to sleep. Mattress’s and pillows make sleep great. The tubs and showers are 5 ⭐️Star.

The Only thing missing from the Blue Whale is a pool! The space is very comfortable! Beautiful set-up with a wonderful view!

We had 14 people total. The house was roomy and very clean when we arrived. The lack of a bathroom door in the upstairs bedroom and no shower curtain was a bit annoying but not worthy of a bad report. A tool kit would have been helpful as the swings on the top deck fell off when it got too windy. The house had plenty of sand toys and boards and an umbrella and a couple camping chairs that were useful. We did find ourselves saying we had wished there were more chairs on the main deck for our large group. Overall, our stay was very good and we were happy with the house.
Manager response:
We appreciate you staying with us, April. The bathroom is designed as a walk-in that doesn't require a door or curtain. We apologize if this was uncomfortable for you. Maintenance will check the deck swings for any in need of repair. Thank you!

Excellent views, we'll laid out home. Only negative thing is wasn't cleaned well, found dirty ladies underwear in one bedroom and rooms dusty other than that had a wonderful stay.
Manager response:
Hi Brian, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with us, but sincerely apologize for the cleaning issues you encountered during your visit. Cleanliness is of our highest priorities so rest assured we will follow-up with the housekeepers to ensure more thorough cleans are being performed going forward. Thanks again for your feedback, we hope to host you again very soon!

Loved the location!! Clean, fabulous view.

Pros: The Ocean breeze and the waves hitting the beach at night was tranquil. So nice. Top deck for sunbathing. Lower deck for a relaxing swing. Beds, bathrooms and living room very nice. The big shower has two shower heads and six lower spray heads that work great. We loved this place and plan to stay again. The washing machine started leaking and the maintenance team was called and fixed it with in an hour. Awesome maintenance team.
Cons: Wi-Fi only worked enough to aggravate you. We ended up using our data. Not a big deal.

Only problem we had was the washing machine leaked onto the floor and through the floor onto the parking area below the house.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Dale & Laura. We're happy you enjoyed your time at The Blue Whale and apologize for the inconvenience the washing machine posed. This has been repaired and is now working properly. Thank you!
