We decided to book a last minute getaway with the my family of 4 and both sets of grandparents. We were looking for a place on the water that had ample room for all of us. The Water's Edge Escape did not disappoint. With 3 floors of living space, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out or come together for games and s'mores. The top floor consists of the master bedroom with a king bed and fabulous view of the lake, as well as a second bedroom with bunk beds and a pack n' play, and a full bathroom. The main floor has a beautiful open concept kitchen and living room, two queen bedrooms and a full bathroom, the basement has another living room with 2 televisions, 2 sets of bunk beds, and another bathroom. (The basement bathroom was not used, as the shower could use a shower head and the toilet and sink were a little loose and need to be tightened. These are easy fixes, but we just wanted to let the owners know.)

The place is very family-friendly. Although each bedroom has a door, there is ANOTHER door to close off the upstairs hallway before coming downstairs. This is perfect for little ones who go to bed early and don't want to be disturbed by the adults playing games downstairs. The bottom of the stairs has a retractable baby gate for peace of mind. They even have a high chair, plasticware for children, and toy boxes filled with lots of fun for the littles. My son was super excited about the ping pong table on the screen porch, but unfortunately we could only find one paddle. If we were staying longer I would have run into town to buy another paddle. We had plenty to do with the cornhole and other games.

The outdoor space is perfect for sitting and gathering. There is a screened in porch for sipping coffee on the cushioned patio furniture. There is also a large deck with an 8-person patio table and grill for outdoor meals. (The grill looks like it could use a good cleaning, but it did the job).

We were very impressed with the little things. It had all of the comforts of home but the luxuries of a hotel. The house was professionally cleaned before we arrived, a well-stocked kitchen, extra linens, blankets, and towels, and even tiny soaps and shampoos in each bathroom. There is even a dishwasher for easy clean up and washer and dryer with detergent.
You literally just need to show up with your food and clothes. We loved the built-in stereo speakers throughout the house. We tuned in to our favorite radio station and were able to listen inside and out.

The water was by far the cleanest I have seen. On a sunny day you could see a fish in the water more than 30 feet off the dock! We brought our own kayaks and aluminum fishing boat and spent a huge amount of time on the water. The public boat launch is maybe 500 feet up the road from the camp, which made it very easy to put the boat in and out of the water.

It is only 5 minutes from the Causeway which has restaurants, shops, ice cream, and a beautiful walking path on the water. We had planned to go mini-golfing but decided that the camp was so nice we didn't want to leave!

The only drawback is the location on a pretty busy road and the noise from the trucks as they drive by. I was able to tune it out, but others may not. Also, the radon mitigation system makes a constant loud humming noise for anyone who is sleeping in the front bedroom on the main floor. My mother-in-law ended up switching to the bunk beds in the basement because she didn't like the humming. Again, it may bother some but not others. Luckily the place was so big we had plenty of beds to choose from, all of which were super comfy.

This place was perfect for what we were looking for. I can't wait to come back again!

Very comfortable, roomy & clean home. Lovely pond view and easy water access! This rental is adjacent to a well-traveled local highway - steady road noise.
