Recent Big Bear Lake vacation rental reviews

Vacasa was kind and very helpful. They answered all of my concerns since we arrived during the snowstorm. And check in was a breeze. The house was cozy and super lovely. It’s provided everything necessary. I was surprised to see a rice cooker there. Wished I know so I didn’t have to bring one :) And yes I did spotted some spider web as previous reviews mentioned but overall the house was very clean. This house actually has 5 rooms and sleep 16 people not including the couches. The kids loves the bunk beds room and spent most of their time there while the adult took over the living room. We got stuck in the house for most of our stay, however we were very comfortable and really enjoy this lovely house as it’s our owns.

Loved the size of this cabin was perfect for my little family of 3, our infant is crawling now so the carpet flooring and children's play area upstairs was perfect! There were even toy tubs and games including an easy up. Would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was very clean. There were nice big sized bedrooms, the main room was large, laid out well and decorated nicely. The location was very convenient to skiing and town.

Where are our Big Bear Lake cabins?

In the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest and on the shores of Big Bear Lake, you'll find the beautiful Big Bear. This area—popular among both tourists and locals—includes both the city of Big Bear Lake and the slightly smaller town of Big Bear City.

Here you'll enjoy a quiet escape surrounded by California's natural beauty, while still being a day trip from larger cities, should you choose. The city is less than 100 miles from the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles and approximately 145 miles north of vibrant San Diego. Big Bear Lake has been a popular destination since the early 1920s, and the area still promises an unforgettable experience for guests of all ages.

Things to do near our Big Bear rentals

During the warmer months, you'll find most of the area's visitors and locals enjoying the water and trying to catch trout for dinner. When you stay in one of our Big Bear rentals with an outdoor grill, you can enjoy cooking up your own fresh-caught fish for dinner. As Southern California's largest recreation lake, Big Bear Lake is a fisherman's paradise in the summer and is also beloved for its boating, canoeing, and kayaking.

The hiking trails near Big Bear are abundant and provide unforgettable mountain views. From kid-friendly excursions like Castle Rock Trail to the more challenging Cougar Crest Trail, there are outdoor adventures for every skill level. Best of all, many of these trails are pet-friendly—just like our Big Bear rentals—so your pup can join in on all the fun.

When the snow falls, our ski chalets are the place to be. With rentals at two winter resorts—Bear Mountain and Snow Summit—you'll have plenty of downhill skiing and snowboarding at your fingertips. For those less inclined towards downhill, the area's hiking and biking trails also transition to cross-country and snowshoeing terrain. After spending an afternoon in fresh powder, you can head back to your Big Bear Lake cabin rental and warm up with a mug of hot chocolate in front of the fire, or by soaking your tired muscles in your hot tub.

Despite its small size, the town of Big Bear Lake has everything you might need during a getaway to the mountains: restaurants, shops, festivals and events, and a farmers market. Almost all of our Big Bear vacation rentals include fully-equipped kitchens, so you can pick up a bounty of local produce and prepare meals right in the comfort of your own home away from home.

Big Bear proves there's so much more to Southern California than beautiful beaches and boardwalks. Discover the magic for yourself with a stay in one of our luxury lodges, laid-back cottages, or cozy Big Bear Lake cabins.
