Recent Delaware vacation rental reviews

This condo was nicely furnished and decorated. The view looks northeast over the ocean - you can see up the street to the town center of Bethany. It's about a mile to walk there and there is a walking path for safety. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, dishes, silverware, etc. There is a regular coffee pot on the counter. One thing that we did not realize as first time Vacasa users is that sheets and towels were already supplied. We had packed those not knowing we would not need them. There were only paper towels in the kitchen so if you want a hand towel, I would take one with you. There was a fresh, clean scent when we entered and things were relatively clean throughout. We would rent this condo again. The one tricky thing we found was the bedroom with the two queen beds got quite warm when the door was closed at night. We ended up leaving the door open, turning up the ceiling fan a notch and the AC down to 70 for the night after the first night and it was much more comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to find there were large, rolling moving bins available in the lobby of the building so we were able to unload the car and make only one trip up to the condo with all our belongings.

With Delaware’s proximity to major cities—Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia are just a day’s trip away—it’s the perfect place to escape from the bustling city. Our Delaware vacation rentals are a great place to spend a weekend or longer.

A visit to Delaware’s beaches

One of the most popular reasons that travelers flock to Delaware year after year are its beautiful, pristine beaches. Though it’s the second-smallest state in the U.S.—clocking in at only 96 miles long—you’ll find no shortage of places to put up your umbrella and kick off your sandals. Delaware boasts almost 30 miles of coastline, and an amazing additional 350 miles of coastline found within its bays, inlets, and river mouths.

But don’t take our word for it—experience it for yourself when you kick back and relax in one of our Delaware beach house rentals. Choose from coastal towns that are beloved for their privacy and tranquility or, if it’s more your style, their fun activities and bustling atmosphere. Fenwick Island is a peaceful place to get away from it all, while the boardwalk and goings-on at Bethany Beach mean a more lively vacation.

Whichever style of getaway you choose, mild temperatures year-round make our Delaware beach house rentals perfect for a getaway at any time. While summers mean the perfect temperature to splash in the ocean, a wintertime trip to the Delaware coast means mild weather and delightfully empty beaches.

History and small-town charm

With a nickname like the First State, you’re probably not surprised that Delaware is full of history. Our Delaware cabin rentals are surrounded by dozens of historical sites and villages teeming with beautiful, historic architecture.

Climb aboard a replica of the Kalmar Nyckel—known as the “Swedish version of the Mayflower”—that brought the first colonists to Delaware. Or visit a sprawling 20th-century mansion and its 300 acres of gardens at Nemours Estate. Just off the coast, on Pea Patch Island, you can tour the imposing Fort Delaware that was built after the War of 1812. History buffs and architecture geeks alike will delight in the historical sites near our Delaware vacation rentals—be sure to take home a souvenir to remember your visit.

Other things to do in Delaware

After you’ve had your fill of beautiful coastline and charming historic towns, it’s time to experience the other reasons travelers love to visit Delaware. Take advantage of the tax-free shopping, whether you’re bringing home a souvenir from a beachside boutique or a one-of-a-kind painting by a local artist.

If you’re a beer or wine aficionado, don’t miss out on the Delaware Beer, Wine, and Spirits Trail. Choose from over 30 breweries, wineries, and distilleries across the state, from nationally renowned names like Dogfish Head to hidden gems and local haunts. However you curate your tasting experience, be sure to grab some growlers or a bottle of wine—or both—to enjoy back in the comfort of your Delaware vacation rental.

Experience for yourself just why Delaware holds a special place in the hearts of many travelers. Spend a weekend on the pristine beaches of the coast, explore the beautiful countryside, or take a trip through history.
