Exactly as advertised, affordable no frills way to experience the Garden Island. Things that were good: -Good location as it’s very central. We found ourselves leaving Kapa’a most days to either head north or south/ west. If you want to explore the whole island, I would stay in the south(Koloa/ Poipu) for a few days and in the north for a few (Princeville/ Hanalei). -Nice bike/running trail that starts right behind the unit. -Lovely porch with partial ocean views. Great for coffee or hanging out after sundown. -Hosts were kind and left some local sweets. Things that could be better: -Bed was straight up uncomfortable. Do not stay here if you’re sensitive to bed comfort, you can feel the springs when you turn. -Bring earplugs. You will be woken up by roosters at 4am each day. The front door doesn’t seal well so there’s almost no noise barrier. This also results in the room being sticky most days. -They had some snorkel gear, which was nice, but it was very dirty from previous tenants so we had to deep clean them and ended up just renting elsewhere. Other things to note: -This is a unit in Aston Islander on the Beach, but it’s a private rental. The pool and hot tub were fine, but almost always packed and had a lot of kids/ families -Beach immediately behind the property is ok. It’s pretty rocky and has a lot of debris, so we didn’t stay here much. Overall we enjoyed our stay but tried to spend as little time in the room as possible. It worked as an accessible way to see the island, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Great location, management was easy to communicate with. The unit we stayed in was a little run down, because the carpets were beige the dirty was obvious.

What a great condo to stay in Kauai. When we arrived the lights were on, the windows were open and there was a personal card welcoming us. Everything was very clean. The beds are super comfortable. Location and views are wonderful. I highly recommend this unit for your family vacation.

Where is Kapaa?

This truly spectacular area is nestled on the upper east coast of Kauai, one of the lushest places on earth. From here, it's about a four-mile drive down the coast to Wailua, and about four miles up to Kealia, another beautiful coastal town. Drive about 30 miles north to explore the legendary Napali Coast on the north side of the island.

Things to Do in Kapaa

Pack your comfortable walking shoes and raingear—Kapaa is brimming with gorgeous hikes and waterfalls! Ho'opi'i Falls is particularly popular, and many visitors also enjoy the Ho'olalaea Waterfall. For a more relaxing day, explore the shore at Kapaa Beach Park, or simply bring a picnic to enjoy with the sound of the waves.

Kayaking is very popular in Kauai, so there are plenty of places in Kapaa to rent one. After you're done with the day's adventures, head to the quaint town for dinner and drinks and do some souvenir shopping.

Once you experience the magic of Kauai, you may not want to ever leave—and we don't blame you! Whether you're here for outdoor excursions or are seeking peace and quiet in a tropical setting, you'll find one of our Kapaa vacation rentals to suit your every need.
