Commonly referred to as The Village by the Sea, Langley is located on the south end of Whidbey Island in Puget Sound, about 20 miles northeast of Seattle. Thick, lush forests surround the island and are just one of the numerous charming aspects of Langley. Bells Beach is a few short miles north, and the main hub of Whidbey Island is just inland. Travel to and from the island is a breeze on the Mukilteo ferry.
Gaze out from your Vacasa vacation rental across the Saratoga Passage and the yachts and sailboats passing by before heading out for a day of adventure. Don't forget your binoculars and plenty of layers so you can catch glimpses of bald eagles and orca whales just off the shore while spending your time in the great outdoors. Book a tour or rent your own boat (or kayak!) from the South Whidbey Harbor at Langley to explore by water after grabbing some snacks and coffee at the delicious Useless Bay Coffee Company nearby.
Take a stroll down Langley's main distract to browse galleries, local boutiques, and incredible shops like Langley Fine Fabrics and Antiques. And although most of our wonderful vacation rentals boast full kitchens, you won't want to miss out on the delicious eateries in town. Orchard Kitchen is as fresh as it comes with its farm-to-table meals, and some of the best pizza you'll ever have is served at Village Pizzeria. Wine connoisseurs will love Spoiled Dog Winery, or you can spend an evening at Double Bluff Brewing Company after trying your hand at glass blowing at Callahan's Firehouse. Even if you're pretty sure you don't have an artistic bone in your body, this unforgettable experience is fun for everyone!
If you're lucky enough to be visiting this quaint town during the gorgeous summer months, stay for Independence Day and the following weekend, packed with fun at The Choochokam Arts and Music Festival. Most of the city closes for over 100 artists to display their masterpieces and 50 musicians to perform original songs on multiple stages. If you're into playing detective, head for Langley in February for Mystery Weekend! In this fun-filled event, a fake newspaper story is run for the fun of letting locals and tourists find clues all around town - many locals play characters in the story. If you find all the answers and finish, you can even enter to win a prize!
