We stayed here for a hockey tournament. The cabin was the perfect size for a family of four and really close to the ice rink. The beds were a little uncomfortable but it wasn’t a big deal. Loved it and would definitely stay again.

I would like to start with the really good points of staying at this pretty cozy cabin. First thing that comes to mind is the location, you are close to pretty must everything without being on the main thoroughfare that runs through Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood is very quiet and quaint. As far as amenities go, the shower pressure is amazing and the water got hot very quickly. Of course you have wi-fi, Netflix, etc. The stackable washer/dryer was nice to have especially to wash bathing suits after using the hot tub.
Now for the bad. As a few people have commented on, the cookware is really lacking. There are more than a few cast iron pans to cook on, however they were not in any condition to cook on (rusted, caked on gunk, unseasoned). This was a real let down as I wanted to get a couple of home cooked meals in while I was there.
Now for the uncomfortable. The beds. It is like you are Goldilocks searching for the perfect bed. The bed in the actual bedroom is really worn, with an aggressive sag in the middle. In the upstairs loft there are 3 other beds. The queen size is the hardest thing you will ever find (zero give), then there are 2 twin beds, one was a bit too soft for my taste and the other was just about right, however it's a twin and very small. I spent my time sleeping on the couch.
Manager response:
Hi, James! We appreciate you staying with us and taking the time to tell us about your visit. The property manager will be discussing updates to the cookware and mattresses with the owner. We hope to see you again!

Such a charming atmosphere. Quiet and peaceful. 2 blocks away from Lake Tahoe. Safeway grocery store a mile away as well. Couldn't have had a better place to stay. It was PERFECT!!

We loved this little cozy home. It’s perfect to stay for up to 6 people. Close to all the beautiful places around the lake. Also the grocery store is a walking distance from the home.

The name (Roughin' it) says it all. I would call it top notch Glamping. The kitchen was well equipped (but could use more of some, like drinkware, and we don't need dishes for 15) and having a dishwasher and washer/dryer combo was great. Everything was clean and tidy as described. I would stay here again and recommend it.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Lawrence! We hope you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we'll pass your helpful suggestions about adding more drinkware onto our management team for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

The location of the property and the looking of a cabin

We loved staying at Roughin' It Getaway. It was a perfect cozy spot for our family of 4. Parents slept downstairs in the bedroom, and two kids upstairs in the loft. While it is true that the beds are a little less than perfectly comfortable, the cottage itself is charming - full of old Tahoe details, and one of the authentic A-frame old-timey cottages. The hot tub was a lovely bonus, and we enjoyed building a snowman in the backyard. The house is a 10-minute walk from the Safeway, the lake, and Heidi's House of Pancakes (yum!), as well as a 5-minute walk from the skating rink. It could not have been more convenient!

This place has pluses & minuses. The couch & upstairs beds were not comfortable. The only window with a shade is the downstairs bedroom so you feel pretty exposed in the living room at night. There is a Keurig but no pods & no other coffee maker. There were plenty of nice white towels and hot water for showers. The dogs liked the large fenced backyard. We probably won’t stay here again.

We loved our cabin; we felt safe, comfortable and it was close to all the activities we wanted to do.

This home is lovely and quenticensial Lake Tahoe. We found accommodations a bit campy because the beds were a bit small and a bit uncomfortable. Queen bed in the loft is not even usuable since it is hard as a rock. House is charming and has everything you need for your stay but kitchen is very very small and we like to cook so it made it a bit challenging. The yard is nice but grass is very high so hard to enjoy. Hot tub was a nice add on...Otherwise it is very centrally located and easy for a short term stay...

love everything about it , very lay back

Overall a very cute rustic cabin. We had everything we needed then some. Very close to many attractions around the lake. Only thing we wanted was some more blinds on windows. We like our privacy and would not want anyone looking in, in the dark.
