Victorian home w/ a porch & lawn, in the historic district!

Immerse yourself in Victorian charm when you stay at this child-friendly, two-bedroom Fredericksburg cottage, a beautiful turn-of-the-century home with timeless decor, a lovely front porch with rocking chairs, and an enviable location in the heart of the Fredericksburg National Historic District. A light, unhosted breakfast is included in your stay.

Wonderfully situated just one block off of Main Street, this country cottage is within easy walking distance of restaurants, historic sites, tasting rooms, and the seasonal farmers market at Marktplatz Kinderhalle. The popular Grape Creek Vineyards tasting room is just nine blocks away, while the surrounding Texas Hill Country of Gillespie County is home to more than two dozen wineries.

Whether you're planning a romantic getaway with your loved one or a wine-tasting weekend with friends, this quaint home will treat you to comfort, ease, and a wonderful trip back through time.

Built in the early 1900s, Little Acorn is full of classic details such as hardwood floors, intricately patterned wallpaper, and period furnishings. Yet the comfortable living space is also well-equipped with every modern necessity, including WiFi, central heat and air conditioning, and a flatscreen TV.

A light breakfast is provided each morning. You may prefer to enjoy a leisurely lunch at a nearby cafe or restaurant, but you'll also have a country kitchenette for preparing meals on your own. Decorated in vintage patterns of blue and white, the kitchen features an antique sink and refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, and an eat-in porcelain table for four. Please note, however, that the antique stove is purely decorative.

After a day of wine-tasting or exploring some of the 80 historic sites in Fredericksburg, return home to relax in a rocking chair on the ornately detailed front porch. You'll also have a spacious lawn enclosed by a picket fence - the perfect spot for afternoon picnics in the shade.

With two bedrooms and one full bathroom, Little Acorn offers sleeping space for as many as four guests. French doors lead into the master bedroom, which features romantic floral-patterned wallpaper and an elegant queen-size canopy bed. The blue guest room has beautiful beamed ceilings and two twin beds, making it a great room for kids.

The full bathroom, which is shared between the two bedrooms, has a wonderfully detailed ceiling and an antique claw-foot tub with a handheld shower.

Thanks to its location in the heart of Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg has become a beloved destination for wine growers and enthusiasts. There are dozens of fantastic wineries within a short drive of town, notably 4.0 Cellars (11 miles), Grape Creek Vineyards (12 miles), Becker Vineyards (14 miles), and Pedernales Cellars (19 miles).

This home is also just 17 miles south of Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, the pink granite dome frequented by rock climbers, hikers, and birders.

Escape to a simpler time when you book a stay at this Fredericksburg cottage - you'll have the wondrous Texas Hill Country at your fingertips!

*Please note add that housekeeping does come daily to refresh the room. A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Great place for a small family. Close enough to walk everywhere but far enough away to be quiet at night.

Authentic and picturesque- not the average mainstream overnighter

It was very clean and comfortable.

I loved all of the vintage appliances and decor in the little acorn. It was comfortable and I wasn’t too worried about our 18 month old because it was very family friendly. It was a little further from the popular shops but still easy access with the car.

Ideal location -- can walk to Main Street within minutes. Wonderful historic house filled with interesting antiques. A little pricey, but I think it was worth it given the location.

Everything was wonderful! Very clean home and all beds were comfortable. The location was perfect in relation to the busyness of downtown.

If you want a clean, cozy, private cottage - this is the place to stay. The pictures are great, but The Little Acorn is even better in person. It’s located within walking distance to restaurants, shops, wineries and more. We walked in to find a folder full of information to help us decide what to do and where to eat. We will be staying here again.

and a neat little neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable

I took my family including my parents to Fredericksburg for Thanksgiving weekend and we stayed here. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The place was immaculate, not a spec of dust anywhere. The decor had my parents reminiscing about their childhood. You can’t beat the location. I would definitely stay here again, it was quaint, cozy, and over all perfect.

Lovely home that is far more charming than the photos reveal. The attention to detail was superb (such storytelling with the decor!) and the treats left for us were a wonderful surprise. Beds were comfortable, area walkable and I could have sipped my fresh-ground coffee on that porch all day long. Such a shame our stay was so short!

The house is beautiful and we loved the extra water and OJ provided. Glad it opened up for one night. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

This house was so cute. Like staying at grandma's! Clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable, loved the claw-footed tub! Enjoyed sitting on the front porch and the peaceful neighborhood. Perfect girl's weekend spot!

Thanks for the coffee and all the fixings!

We will be back!

Adorable cottage for a weekend get-a-way. Quaintly furnished. Great claw foot bathtub for a good soak. Coffee, hot chocolate, cereal and pastries for breakfast. Refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and hot pot for preparing basic meals/snacks. Located one block off Main Street at quieter west end of town. Near a trolley stop.

The home was nice.

Delightful little cottage. Charming, diminutive, and just perfect for a weekend getaway with my child and mother. The continental breakfast was exactly what we were looking for. Very close to Main Street. The porch and rockers were perfect for a morning cup of coffee and a chance to listen to the birds and nature. The beds were very comfortable and the claw foot tub was a delight to soak in at the end of a full day.

Little acorn is a cozy and relaxing place to stay. It is close to Main Street but you are far enough away that it's a quite place to stay. Fredericksburg has so many fun places to visit. The vineyards are fun, the restaurants are fabulous and learning the history of the town is great.

The charm and comfort of Little Acorn is exceptional. The neighborhood is quiet. The porch setting with morning coffee starts the day off right! The comfort of the beds lets you sink into a restful night so that you are refreshed and ready for the next adventure. We will definitely return to Little Acorn.

Nice, clean, but very limited amenities. Not worthy of the expense, due to this one factor.
