We love staying at the cottages. This was our first time in the “original estate cottage” it was nicely finished and we found it very nice and quaint but the road noise of the traffic that never ceased, was enough to declare we would never want to stay in that particular cottage again. However, we will be back to stay in the other cottages that are farther away from the main road.

Right on the main strip. Thought is would be loud but very quiet. Nice cafe right across the street too.

Perfect and cozy for a weekend stay. The only thing we didn’t like was the traffic noise, but other than that it was cute!

Great location. Beautiful homes.

Cute cottage conveniently located on the edge of down town Fredericksburg. Excellent management staff and pre-visit communication.

My girlfriend and I loved the home feel of the cottage and the prime location from all the Main Street attractions. We will definitely be coming back!

Charming small cottage feel

My wife and I loved the cottages! They are in an awesome spot on Main St that is less than a mile from everything and the cottage itself was cozy (the awesome soft bed in particular) and perfect for two . We were sad to go but will most certainly be back!

The Original Estate cottage was adorable and easy to find. The check in process was easy, convienent, and we even got to check in early for free. Free strudel and coffee with oj, milk, hot coco, and popcorn. Has a welcome packet with all the events going on and things to do. Has full size bathroom amenities in case you forgot yours and even cosmetic rags for taking off your makeup. Only problem was we got the cabin in the front by the road and the traffic noise is all times of the day and very loud. The bathroom door didn't close but I came with my mom which wasn't a big deal. Other than that very enjoyable will visit again just further inside the location.

It was perfect for just me, the main st. traffic right outside this unit was rather loud, but other than that, it was a great stay. Very clean, which was much appreciated!!

Great location and perfect place to stay!

The cottages are perfect - homey feel, but conveniences of a hotel or b&b. How can you ask for more to start your day - with fresh German pastries? Location is great - away from hustle-bustle but only minutes to the main shopping area. Staff is incredible - responsive, helpful and genuinely care about your stay.

We were very pleased with the accommodations. We will be returning again.

I was very happy with the vacasa experience. I wanted to stay in a cottage authentic to the town and I got what I wanted it. It was quaint and very cozy. Not mention it was centrally located right on the strip of downtown and this was such a convenience with shopping and eating.

Loved and will definitely be going back.

Location just slightly too far for a comfortable walk but easy to find a rideshare. Very pretty and well kept.

Loved Wine Country Cottages. Great location, three or four blocks from shopping and restaurants, City Cafe is right across the street for a quick breakfast. Pet friendly. Senior citizen friendly (not a lot of steps). Parking is easy and right by the cottages. I have booked through Vacasa twice, no problems.

So first off, the entry key situation is a joke. Having to drive across town to pick up and drop off the plastic hotel style keys is asinine. Drop box needs to be on the property for when you check out and a better way to receive the keys upon arrival. The vacasa team in Portland is also not very helpful with regard to logistics of key pickup/drop off relative to the rental units. Bottom line...prepare to drive across town to retrieve and drop off these plastic keys for your stay.

The partial A/C is just that...very partial. There is a massive amount of heat that comes into the Original estate unit through the bathroom. The door to the bathroom only has an inner latch and you cannot shut the door from inside the living room. We had to tie an iPhone charger cord to it to keep the door shut.

The original estate is very close to the hwy 290 and the road noise is quite distracting at night. The road is busy and the unit is right next to the road. Keep that in mind when you stay.
Manager response:
We apologize for the confusion regarding the location of the office and the air conditioning. The property manager will take these comments into consideration. Thank you.

Nice little cottage for my husband and I. We were even able to bring our Maltese. Very comfortable, close to all the stores, restaurants and museum.

Great first time staying in Fredericksburg! Love Vacasa; will book with them again.
Rachelle M. Jan 2017
Positives are nice, convenient location close to all the shops and restaurants, beautiful surroundings outside the cottage, nice interior design, nice shower stall (looks new), fully stocked with breakfast food and kitchen supplies, delicious coffee cake, and great coffee! Negatives are lack of privacy in the bathroom, loud vent, loud creaking door, TV turning off by itself (electric issues?), since the cottage is right next to the road vehicles can be heard in the morning, and gnats on the bed. Overall, the stay was okay.
Manager response:
We appreciate receiving this feedback. The blinds have been adjusted in the bathroom to allow for complete privacy, and the vent and door have been taken care of. Thank you!

Wife and I visited Fredricksburg to celebrate her 30th birthday. The cottage we stayed at was very clean and located very close to downtown. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be going back.
Mattie P. Aug 2016
We really enjoyed out stay here! It was very clean, convientently located, and had everything we needed! The only downside was the it was right on Main Street and the cars were loud during the day but luckily not at night. We will definitely be staying at these cottages again! Hopefully when it is cooler outside and we can get one with a hot tub!

My wife and I came to get out of austin for a couple days during the week at the Cottages on Main. It was very conveniently located right on one end of main st next to a a juice/smoothie place and cafe. It was hot, so being close was a good thing if we needed to make it back to get in the AC.

The place was stocked with local coffee, milk and OJ, cereal, dishes, and a wonderful coffee cake which I took full advantage of. This was probably my favorite thing (it being stocked lightly with these amenities).

Despite being small, its a very welcoming place and efficient. The shower is very big as well which was nice.

The one thing was wasn't so great was the "Original Estate" house is right on Main St. so you get a lot of road noise. Make sure you note this before staying in the front two houses.
Carrol G. Jun 2016
All of the cottages are nice looking from the outside and the courtyard area is pretty. The cottage we stayed in was very nice; bathroom was big and kitchen was well equipped with breakfast cake and a good coffe pot.It also has a microwave and refrigerator.
Kelley E. May 2016
We loved the cottage itself, beautiful little place. The bed was really comfortable and the amenities and breakfast food were great. However the thing that really killed it for us were the bugs and insects in the cottage that kept crawling around (beetles and biters) and bit us too. They were on the floor and on ceiling and walls. I had several bites that almost look like bedbugs but I don't think that's what it was.

The place was great and we loved it but we will not be returning due to the bugs and bites we got during our stay - very unfortunate.
Manager response:
We are very sorry to see that bugs were such a nuisance during this stay; the Property Manager was been advised and will do what he can to alleviate the problem.
Christine T. May 2016
Cute property, but our unit faced Main Street where there was a good deal of road noise. I would recommend you bring a large fan for some white noise if you aren't a sound sleeper. Otherwise, very pleased overall.
