On cold nights, fire up the woodstove to stay nice and toasty!

The cozy kitchen has all the basics you need to turn fresh ingredients from the Greenbank Store into delicious meals. The table for two by the windows is perfect for a romantic dinner thanks to its views of the duck pond. A gas grill is also available when you're in the mood for a cookout.

Four guests (two adults) are welcome in this one-bedroom home, with a spacious king-size bed in the bedroom. There is also a loft area with two twin mattresses for the kids (please note, loft access is via steep stairs and might not be suitable for very young children). I decided to take my girlfriend to this Whidbey Island cabin for her birthday to get away from the hustle and bustle of our day-to-day lives. The first couple hours of our stay was wonderful, we started a fire in the fireplace and cooked ourselves some dinner while we enjoyed a movie.

All was going well until we went to laid down in bed, turned the lights down, and stared up at the ceiling. Strangely, it appeared that the ceiling was "moving" so I got up out of bed to turn back on the lights to better investigate. Once the lights were on we could see over a dozen fairly large (golf-ball sized, some slightly smaller) spiders crawling all over the wooden beams and making their way into the darker cracks in between the roof panels. We decided to try and sleep on the couch instead, but the same scene persisted into the living room once the lights were turned on, spiders all over the beams and roof looking for a dark place to hide.

My girlfriend was on the verge of a panic attack and I was also not feeling very good about the amount of spiders inside the stay so we made the decision to abandon the cabin at 2 o'clock in the morning on our first night. We hadn't been in the cabin more than 6 hours before leaving. While I was trying to tidy up the place a bit before heading home, I managed to find more spiders under dishes I had put in the sink not 30 minutes prior, a spider in between the sheets of the bed, and more spiders in other darker corners of the stay.

We attempted to get a partial refund for the night we did not use but was told that the hosts "could not find any spiders." To their credit, they offered us a refund of the cleaning fees. Unfortunately, money can be quite tight between my girlfriend and I and there is little I can do to make up for her accidentally disastrous birthday gift with only refunded cleaning fees. If it wasn't for the spiders this stay would have been absolutely perfect aesthetically and the location was beautiful! However, people with arachnophobia beware!

It felt like a magical land. We were so comfortable with all the amenities and quiet, serene environment. The cabin is spacious and welcoming. We cooked and played games. We relaxed and enjoyed the setting. Highly recommend!

Peaceful!! just what we needed

Authentic log cabin. Great for a romantic retreat IF the other cabins are unoccupied. Listing does not clearly communicate how close they are to each other. Luckily the other cabins were empty during our stay. The listing mentions 25 acres of land but there is nowhere to walk or hike go on the property. We drove 30 minutes to Deception Pass for a great hike.

We very much enjoyed our month long stay in Log Cabin #9. It came to feel just like home. The staff could not have been more attentive to our needs during our entire stay.

Great log cabin with the way out in the woods feel not far from the ferry

We loved our stay at this little cabin! The setting was private and quiet, the daily show put on by the wildlife entertained us each morning and afternoon! A perfect getaway!

This place was everything I hoped for! Peaceful and quiet. Very much an authentic log cabin with all the little luxurious details you need for a successful mini vacation. Wifi and a nice selection of movies. A beautiful standup tiled shower with great hot water and pressure plenty of room for two. Full kitchen with nessacary pots and pans at your use *no dishwasher or disposal..no big deal* Super comfy king size bed. Loved going to sleep every night listening to the frogs singing..was super cool. The only thing I would note is the loft area for the kids is definitely better suited for little guys..my teenagers thumped their heads though out the trip on the low beams...also bring wood as it is not provided on site and the nearest convenience store is closed for a remodel from what we can tell. Other then that I can not wait to book this little spot again! Was a real gem 😊

We stayed there with our granddaughters, ages 4 and 7, and had a perfectly wonderful time. It feels like you are in the woods- all the while close to plenty of things to see and do!! The girls loved the adventure of being "in the woods", feeding the ducks in the pond by the cabin, and enjoying the peace and quiet. The log cabin was very comfortable and well stocked with everything you needed (minus the perishables). We had such a great time that we look forward to coming back to the "log cabin in the woods".

This was restful and quiet which both of us needed. Deer at the pond. Rockers on the porch. What more could you want?

I wanted to have a getaway with my mom and my two girls so I starting searching online for a cabin to stay in. I found this one here on Whidbey Island and it was perfect! I don't think I could have found a better place. I loved that there are rocking chairs off the master bedroom on the porch; sipping wine at night listening to the frogs and sipping coffee in the morning listening to the birds and seeing the ducks on the pond was so peaceful! The cabin stayed plenty warm with the fireplace going (I may have put too much wood in because we were pretty hot!). The beds and pillows were so incredibly comfortable, I didn't want to get up in the morning!
We met the owner and he got more paper and wood for us which was super nice of him.
Our whole experience was just really nice. This is truly my new getaway place to relax!!

I love the quiet peacefulness. I love the central location to the activities on the island. I love the pond and the sound of the frogs in the night. I also love the kitchenette and the cozy bed and fireplace.

This cabin is amazing. So beautiful, cozy and warm especially with the wood stove fireplace. Surprisingly quiet with how close it is to a main road. Super comfy king sized bed!! We loved sitting on the little deck bundled up drinking our morning coffee and reading while listening to the ducks in the pond. Heard frogs in the evening and a spotted owl as well! So tranquil. This was by far my favorite spot I’ve found so far and want to come back in the summer!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful relaxing stay!

Been a visitor of the Guest House for a while and it was always my favorite vacation place. The cabins are still roughly the same, there is a new shower in the log cabin which is... different... but it's still quite nice. There isn't much that has changed and it's still an amazing place to go to just expect there to be a difference.

Great little cabin. My wife and I loved it.

We had an amazing stay here. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

My fiancée loves the rustic wood cabin feel and she absolutely LOVED this place. Had a very relaxing weekend on Whidbey Island and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. Central to the entire island for the day trips. Morning cup of coffee on the back porch watching the ducks on the pond. Cozy fire in the wood stove to relax in the evening. Perfect place to get away for a weekend.

This was our honeymoon cabin two years ago. The first time there was delightful and this time was less than what we expected. Missed the personal touch and several things wer not working! We were disappointed in this visit.
Manager response:
We are very sorry to read this and wish the guest had contacted us during their visit so we could have tried to make them more comfortable.

enjoyed staying the the cozy log cabin. The duck pond was really sweet, bathroom was nicely done and everything worked well. Extremely clean and comfortable.

Cabin is situated such that there is a small pond in front. My grandchildren and I sat on a bench and were able to identify a belted kingfisher, cedar waxwings, and olive-sided fly catchers. This is not however, an area to really trail walk. Definitely not an area for hiking.
Igor Z. Jul 2017
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids. We'll definitely come back.
