For the ultimate New England retreat, this historic home offers a classic getaway in Maine’s Kennebunks. You’ll have updated amenities inside, a beautiful outdoor patio and grill, plus an amazing location near historic homes, the beach, and Dock Square.

Newly renovated by a renowned local designer, this circa 1900 New Englander-style home is in Kennebunk, Maine (about 29 miles south of Portland). Located in the town’s Historic District, it’s just a two-mile drive or bike ride to the beach and Dock Square. Enjoy a short stroll past historic homes, like the Wedding Cake House, or grab some sundries, a sandwich, and a scrumptious whoopie pie at The Landing Store just steps away.

Inside the home, updated and comfortable furnishings provide a classic retreat — complete with white beadboard ceilings and coastal decor. The sunken living room features a comfy sectional that can fit eight or more people easily, a flatscreen cable TV with Netflix and Roku access, plus complimentary high-speed WiFi. Air conditioning helps you cool down during the summertime, with furnishings on the deck providing a nice opportunity for some fresh air.

A wood stove fireplace creates a warm, inviting feel in the living room, while small little reading nooks with comfy armchairs throughout the home provide the perfect place to relax with a good book.

There's even a state-of-the-art Google Home device so you can turn on some tunes. Head to the beautifully updated, fully-equipped kitchen to prep a delicious home-cooked meal or lobster dinner. There's a gas stove plus plenty of seating at the large kitchen island for casual meals.

Enjoy dinners and fun with the whole group in the formal dining room, which features seating for eight. For a relaxing alfresco meal, head out to the large backyard with serene pasture views. There's a full patio with ample seating, a gas grill, and a firepit.

With four bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths, this home will sleep up to eight guests. All the bedrooms feature stylish, updated linens and comfy furnishings. There’s a queen-size bed in each of the first two bedrooms, a double in the third bedroom, and two twin-size beds in the fourth bedroom (that can be combined to form another queen).

This home has a private washer/dryer for your convenience. There are also family games in the house to keep everyone entertained! With plenty of charm, modern amenities, and a comfortable vibe, you’ll feel right at home in this historic Maine getaway.

You are just a few minutes drive or bike to a host of restaurants, local shops, Ocean Avenue, the famous Gooch’s Clam Shack, golf, and much more.

There are great beaches in the area if you're looking for a sandy retreat. Gooch’s Beach, Kennebunk Beach, and Mother’s Beach are all fun destinations connected by sidewalks — perfect for sunbathers, sandcastle builders, and casual umbrella loungers.

This is a smallish house that has been added onto. Bedrooms are small but serviceable, hence four stars not five. Also, one full bath and a 1/2 bath on first floor. Super den area in the new section and great back porch and yard.

Location is on the road that connects Kennebunk to Kennebunkport, 5 min to either one. 15 minutes to Rachel Carson Wildlife Nature Preserve and 45 minutes to Two Light State Park.

We had six in our party and everyone enjoyed the stay. It took a little planning for showers with only one bath. For the price and location, we thought it was a good deal. Everyone was happy with the experience.

Kitchen has good appliances and the dishes, glasses, pots and pans are good quality and organized. There is room to work. Good coffee maker, OK stove. Nice dining table set up.

We loved staying in this house. It was clean and had more than enough room for our family of five. Both the beaches and town were very close. We would definitely stay at this property again.

First floor kitchen open to the living room was fantastic. Lots of seating and very cozy.
Everything was just what we needed. The only thing we missed was a bathroom on the second floor.

We absolutely loved our stay at Thisgood Meadows. The house is beautifully updated but still has the charm & character of it's older roots. The pictures & virtual tour were 100% accurate and the instructions/welcome booklet left by the hosts was helpful and wonderfully put together. This is a gorgeous location in the fall, super convenient & walkable to an adorable mini store (The Landing Store). We loved the fully applianced kitchen and would love to come back again in the summer!

Great home in Kennebunk. Well stocked. Great kitchen for entertaining/ hanging out. Very comfortable bed and great linens.

The home is on a main road and somewhat close to the road so you can head a bit of traffic when in the front two bedrooms but not loud / trafficy enough to be an issue.

The back yard is absolutely amazing. It’s a bird lovers paradise. Perfect to grill and relax in.

Close to the beaches and town. A perfect bike ride to either.

House comes with beach passes which is a bonus!

There are two window air conditioners but plenty of fans to move the air around.

The house is very tastefully decorated and very comfortable to hang out in. Plenty of living space.

We will definitely be back!

This house was clean and beautifully renovated with wonderful amenities. We had everything we could possibly need from the kitchen utensils to the hair dryer and fans. This house had plenty of room for 8 guests. We enjoyed gathering around the large kitchen island for food drink and conversation while we asked GOOGLE Home to play some of our favorite music on Pandora. Definitely recommend this house!

Stayed there with seven people and we managed perfectly! Kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware and things you may need. Really enjoyed the fire pit and hanging out in the backyard on the deck.

Only wish I had more time to spend up there. Hope to be back again soon!

Everything went well. Erik was welcoming and made himself available during our stay despite it being 4th of July. Luckily we didn't need him because the house was spotless and charming.
