Dog-friendly family home on dead-end street and just one block from the beach
Plan a fun-filled getaway to a family and dog-friendly oceanside town with a stay at this laid-back charmer of a three-bedroom Gleneden Beach vacation rental. Decorated in an artistic and playful style, this Beachwood retreat is nestled in a woodsy setting on a quiet dead-end street, with just one block to beach access!
Just two steps up, and you'll enter a spacious floor plan with the living room, dining room, and kitchen all open, so conversations can easily be carried on while making meals, watching TV, or just sitting around the coffee table planning the day's events. In the living room, besides the tall ceilings (thanks to the loft upstairs), you'll find comfortable leather sofas, as well as a flatscreen TV with cable and a DVD player for watching movies and your favorite TV shows. There's also WiFi access so you can stay connected!
During winter storms, get some firewood for a roaring fire, or just light the candles near the fireplace for ambiance as you stay nice and cozy, while listening to the rain outside. And when it's time to prepare a meal, you'll find everything you need in the fully-stocked kitchen. From grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch to a fancy grilled salmon dinner or even a holiday feast with all the trimmings - this kitchen is the place to make it happen. And after you're done breaking bread and discussing the day, a dishwasher makes clean-up easy as pie.
There's also a deck on this level with a gas grill, hummingbird feeder, and nice views of the forested landscape. Perfect for grilling up steaks after a long day frolicking on the shore!
On the lower level, there are also two bedrooms - one has a set of bunk beds that are just perfect for the kids, the other has a queen-sized bed. Flanked by pebbled glass windows, this bed also has a wonderfully ornate wood frame and other room amenities include a TV and private deck access. There is also a full bathroom in the hall as well, making this room a great choice for grandparents or any guests with mobility issues that may make stairs an issue.
When you do head upstairs, you (and your younger guests) will be delighted to find a loft bedroom complete with a full-size bed and frame in the shape of a boat! Another great sleeping choice for the kids, the loft also has a view of the open living room from behind an iron railing. In addition, the second floor also contains another bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and lots of closet space. Just down the hall is a full bathroom with a shower and skylight. This home will accommodate up to seven guests, as well as your furry dog family members with an additional pet fee.
Other indoor amenities include a washer and dryer for guest use, stereo, sound dock, a CD player, and plenty of games for the kids. For a day at the beach, there are surfboards to borrow or just grab an armful of sand toys from the deck and follow the stone-lined path to a tree-lined trail and access the beach just one block away.
Here you'll be able to comb the beach for additions to your shell collection, build sandcastles, fly kites, or just relax on the sand with a good beach book and the provided beach chairs. You'll want to bring your bikes and ride around this scenic and cycle-friendly neighborhood.
For golfers, Salishan Golf and Spa Resort is only a mile away and offers 18 holes of golf, a beautiful, relaxing spa, and several shops and dining options.
On afternoons or evenings you don't feel like cooking, you're only a five-minute walk from the Side Door Cafe. That space also houses Eden Hall - a small music and theatrical venue, so if you're lucky, you may be able to catch a show after a delicious dinner out.
This home is well-located for day trips. Lincoln City, with its glass galleries, restaurants, outlet mall, and Chinook Winds Casino is only seven miles to the north, and an excursion to Newport for a fun day at the Oregon Coast Aquarium is only a 30-minute drive to the south.
For winter or summer getaways to the beach, this Northern Oregon Coast vacation rental makes an excellent home base to explore, play, and relax.

The house was very relaxing and you could go on the back deck and see the ocean and hear the waves. At night you can leave the windows open and the house stays very comfortable. The area is very quiet and the neighbors all around are very friendly. When you walk in the house smells very nice and it feels really open and the kitchen was very clean and nice. The house has three places u can wash off the sand. The BBQ was very useful and very well kept.
My wife and our friends really enjoyed the house.
Richard Y.Aug 2020
About 2 blocks from a sandy beach. A shelf exists just off shore which makes the waves break nice and large. We did discover there was no land line phone so had to connect using wifi phone. Connections on cell phone were terrible and if an emergency arose, you had to drive to the highway to make call.
I would have gladly paid any cost of phone calls if an actual phone were present.
Other than this, I would definitely recommend.

I.m giving only one star down because of railings in 2nd floor esp if u have small kids around.. it's a great house they have all the supplies to cook, wifi, walkable distance to beach.. it's best place to have a week long vacation.. i.m going to book again..

Quiet Dead End street and neighborhood, pretty much had everything you need for a few days stay, clean and well maintained, nice washer and dryer can't really hear them because they're enclosed in their own little room, parking just off the front door, nice adequate deck with seating and nice bbq. It is dated but again well kept, parts of floor do creek but not annoying, no ocean view but only a short walk away, we just went to get away and relax so that was no issue for us. Would be nice if loft railing bars were a little closer together or had a decorative screen on them, my granddaughters (2&3l easily fit between the rails. Other than that a good place to stay, no complaints, would and will recommend to friends and family.

It's a big old lodge in the woods. Funky but comfortable. The rain sounded nice on the wood ceilings, fire going in the large brick fireplace. A few minute walk to a beautiful beach. We could hear it inside the house with the window open. Needs some new floor coverings. Will rent again.
Cassandra D.Jul 2019
It was about a 2 block walk to the beach from this house. The house had everything we needed and was super comfortable and roomy.

This home has great space for a group with an easy walk to the beach; the trail is right at the end of this duplex unit. It is pretty typical of an older rental home with dated furnishings but fine. Like many real estate photos these days, the photos of the place are much brighter than reality. We appreciated the updates in the kitchen and some of the bedroom furniture-I was in the downstairs bedroom and it was nice and comfy. Perhaps the owners are gradually working on updates. While we did not use them, there were lots of games for guests to play. There are a few things we noted that guests would want to know about. Being an older place, there is a strong musty odor noticeable on entry. The previous guests must have stored fish in the freezer or fridge as the smell was left behind. Down the street is a home with very loud barking/howling dogs. As we were off adventuring most of our days there, theses things were tolerable for our stay.

I encourage you to read all of the reviews. Even the older ones. The house is roomy, yet not nearly as nice as the pictures show it to be.
We are sorry to see this guest feels the pictures are not true to the unit. We feel they are an accurate portrayal of what guests will be receiving when booking this home. Thank you!

When we arrived we thought it was the wrong house. It is a duplex and the front does not look anything like the back, which is in the pictures. We think the owner lives in the other half. Anyway, it was sufficient and the inside was good. And dog friendly!!!!
Chad N.Feb 2018
Very roomy, duplex setup but the neighbors were fine.
Yvonne K.Dec 2017
So, so...nice layout, comfy bed and space for dog. Needs deep cleaning :/
We apologize if cleanliness appeared to be lacking for this visit. A deep clean was done recently, but the home had been vacant for a period of time before these renters arrived. We will be sure to perform touch-ups before guest arrivals when the home has been empty. Thank you!

The location of the property was great. The downstairs rooms are well insulated and quiet-perfect with a house full of teenage boys!
Pros-This was the perfect house for a weekend get away with family. It is close the the beach in a quiet neighborhood.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishware, pots and pans.
The kids had plenty of room to get away from the adults.
There was plenty of little amenities around the home-dish soap, laundry soap, shampoo, etc.
Cons-I think the house has fleas! My dog is on Comfortis and had a flea bath the day of our trip. He is now covered in fleas!
The house could use some updating.
We are so happy to hear this guest thought the home was perfect for a family weekend getaway. We definitely have to agree! We had the home checked for fleas and none were present upon inspection, but we treated the home for fleas anyway. We are confident that it won't be a concern going forward.

Good location close to beaches and quiet. People were very friendly
Kaeli P.Aug 2017
Inside of the house is nice. The floor of the loft is very creaky, so when people are up there (especially at night) it can be very loud. The living area is large and couch seats several people. The outdoor area is basically just the deck and a little path that goes around, so there is not much place outside to sit, eat or socialize. The house does not look very nice from the front, but is nice inside and mostly well kept up. There is no welcome book or information on the town, restaurants, how to get to the beach or check . out instructions. There are lots of games available. Overall, it was a good place for us for the weekend and we would stay here again.
Kendra H.Aug 2017
If you have children, or like to fly kites... there were about 10 of them stashed through out the house! This was a great stay, the upstairs gets insanely hot during the day due to the large windows, but besides that it was an excellent stay.
Haley J.Jun 2017
Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay! The path to the beach was super easy and less than a 5 minute walk!! Conveniently located!
Mary W.Jun 2017
Great location near the beach, small little trail right down to the beach, open concept was great for family, the grill did not work but maybe there was just no propane left, overall enjoyed the place for the price, only negative is there was no garbage disposal and the bathrooms could use a bit of updating.
Tammy D.Apr 2017
Nice house, would definitely recommend. A bit of a funky smell but noticed that in the area in general must be the dampness and ocean.
Shelly W.Jan 2017
This home is great for a group. We stayed on New Year's Eve and had family in the area that joined us for dinner and games at the home. The dining table was large enough for group games and the family room was perfect for having other family members talk, watch TV, etc. The main bathroom is very small, the size of a typical powder room in most homes and not much space to put bathroom items you've packed. The upstairs floor creaks quite loudly and if you have light sleepers this could be an issue. But it was comfy and we enjoyed the stay.
Dean F.Dec 2016
We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 grown children. The layout was ideal for visiting and cooking. The walk to the beach was pleasant, but the beach itself was not accessible with high tide. There were some details left unchecked with an odor inside and dog bombs left in the parking area. Bring an air freshener and a shovel and you'll be set. The floor is quite warped for some reason. You are not loosing your equilibrium.

When we arrived the house had a stale, wet, musty smell. We thought that maybe it was because it hadn't been stayed in for a while and got better after we opened windows. But now that we are home we can smell it on our belongings. House was clean and no evidence of previous tenants but it is very dated and old except for the kitchen. There us also an outdoor BBQ but we didn't use it because it was full of mold. This house also has two units, although the other tenant was quiet they did have a dog that barked from time to time making us feel less like we were on a quiet vacation in a house. Supplies and cooking utensils were amply supplied. Don't let the photos fool you, there is no fence to contain pets. Although you can hear the ocean you can not see it anywhere on the property and in my opinion is further away than beachfront. There is easy access 4 blocks away, but may be too far for someone walking with kids or dogs. The outside is heavily wooded and brushy and could use a good clearing to keep the spiders and pine needles out. We killed 5 spiders inside the house in a 3 night stay. There are cracks between the door jambs and doors which is probably how they get in. If the brush was cleared there may be a view from the top bedroom...maybe. Cleaning up outside may help with the spiders too especially this time of year. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. All in all we made it work but was not our ideal quiet vacation away that we had hoped for, It reminded us of a cozy rustic remodel gone wrong.
We are sorry to see that there were some disappointments with this reservation; the Property Manager will be advised of these comments.
Rennae S.Sep 2016
We had a good experience overall. With some minor inconveniences, the property manager, Jack was more than compensatory. We had no major issues and enjoyed out stay. It may be a good idea to bring aluminum foil and saran wrap.
Natasha A.Aug 2016
Overall we were happy with the house. We shared it with another family and there was plenty of room to spread out. The only complaint that we had was that when we got there it was quite unclean. It looked like maybe the cleaning staff just skimped this time around. But after we cleaned it ourselves it felt very comfortable!
We are very sorry to see that the cleaning was not properly done for this reservation; had we been notified we would have sent housekeeping out as quickly as possible to rectify the situation.
Annette O.Jul 2016
New kitchen nicely stocked with pots and pans.
House and yard need better maintenance.
Tricia E.Jul 2016
A great house close to the beach in a quiet area of the coast. Very easy to access both Lincoln City and Newport. Can't beat the location. Kitchen has everything you are looking for to make your meals. I would say the bed situation makes this house most appropriate for up to 4 and 2-3 children. Easy walk down the backyard cut through to the beach about 1.5 blocks away. Super comfortable place to stay would return again for sure.
Jessica H.Jul 2016
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. It provided a place for our large-ish family to stay together without bothering other people/guests. The amenities were slightly lacking compared to what we expected, especially in light of the email telling us we didn't need to bring things like towels, shampoo, dish soap, etc. For large groups like ours, it would have been nice to either have a couple extra things on hand or to not have the email suggesting we leave certain items at home. On the whole, our stay was comfortable and within easy walking distance to the beach, which was nice. I think for the next time around we will be looking for something with more of a view, however.
Marilyn A.Mar 2016
This house had a terrible musty smell. We bought a couple of air fresheners that help, but the musty smell clung to my clothes. The lighting in the living room was terrible. There wasn't enough light to read by. The kitchen had a nice set up. It had everything we needed to cook.
We are sorry that the odor in the home was so bothersome. We will ask housekeeping to do what they can to remove the smell, and we'll work on providing better lighting in the home as well.
Bryan R.Mar 2016
The house is very nice. Lots of room and very cozy. Close to beach and restaurants.
Jennifer P.Mar 2016
We really enjoy visiting, This area of The Oregon Coast 1st time staying along Glen-eden beach, was a Peaceful, Relaxing stay very quite & off the Busy Hwy 101 & crowds, which was nice, we will be back again. Very Cozy & Comfy place.
Pat K.Sep 2015
Great location. Lots of space. Great layout. Awesome grill. Walk to the beach is close. Upstairs shower is AMAZING!
Needs new carpet, both queen beds and a screen door downstairs. Fridge needs some maintenance as well.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We have notified our local staff of the issues you experienced and he will be working with the owners to improve the condition of the home. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Andy G.Aug 2015
Loved our stay. Close to the beach and had all the things we needed at an affordable price.
Lisa B.Jul 2015
We enjoyed this house so much and loved walking to the beach and also driving to see sights in Depoe Bay, Newport Beach and Lincoln Beach which are all close by. This Is a favorite vacation house for us.
Jennifer D.Jul 2015
Love the woodsy backyard and charming secret garden-esque path to the beach. ALso loved how the skylight in the upstairs bathroom opened up to let the fresh air in. Overall, such a charming, quiet and relaxing place to stay!
Heidi B.Jul 2015
This was homey, clean, comfortable, lots of entertainment. Every appliance you could need in a kitchen. Friendly neighbors. Very kid friendly except for toddlers, railing upstairs has wide spaces. We loved how clean it was and had a great stay. Planning on more than 3 nights next time. We had a three generation vacation.
Tanja O.Jul 2015
Quiet location. Just a couple of blocks from the beach. Furniture was comfortable. We had trouble with one of the movies, but I think it was just that disc. Large selection of movies on DVD and board games. Kitchen is very new and well-stocked with tools. Check in and out was super easy. Wonderful, soft, fluffy towels and basic bathroom toiletries provided. The main photo is deceiving because it is from the back. That makes it hard to identify when you first arrive.
Adrienne N.Jun 2015
A slice of heaven. My family and I had a wonderful time at the beach and had a cozy place to stay. Kids had fun playing board games at the house, when we weren't at the beach. Awesome all the way around!
Can't wait for next year's vacation :)
Laura R.May 2015
Great weekend get away. At first we thought we were at the wrong home because it doesn't match the photo on the web site. The photo on the site is of the back of the house. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Big house so there is room for lots of people. The boat bed in the loft was a real treat for the kids. I would recommend this home.
Kimberly B.Oct 2014
We had a lovely experience in the Beachwood vacation house. This was just a weekend to get away and relax and was very easy to do in this home. Don't expect fancy and you will be pleasantly surprised with the comfort and location of this house. The check-out process was sooo much easier than other rentals we've used and were happy to help with the very shorty, request only to-do, list.
Steven J.Jun 2014
We just returned from a two night stay. The house is well located just a few blocks from beach access in a nice area. It is a good rate if you are not expecting an updated house. The kitchen could do with a few more essentials like bowls, pots and pans etc. Overall, it was very comfortable and clean.
Bria O.May 2014
This is a great place with plenty of space for everyone and it has a lovely walk down to the beach. We really enjoyed our time here a lot. Thanks a million!
