Great home, location and Vacasa support.

This is the perfect home base for your Truckee-Tahoe adventure. It’s a traditional A-Frame Cabin not a swanky Instagram Estate so if you’re looking for that you may be disappointed. At this price point for a pet-friendly cabin we couldn’t be happier. The hot tub was a plus. It was a great spot to hang out after a nice MTB ride at the nearby Tahoe-Donner trail system or just relaxing under the stars at night. The kitchen had everything we needed, The Cabin is just plain comfortable, it really had a homey feel to it like you were at your own families cabin that was around since you were a kid. The bathroom and kitchen is dated but it is in terrific shape and everything worked great. The grill on the deck is new and works great also. I would imagine in the winter the driveway could pose challenges for some people. It’s been written in a couple other reviewers about the back deck near the hot tub being in need of repair. I can confirm that but I believe it to be fixed soon as I saw a new stack of deck material at the house. I would book another stay at this cabin for my next stay without hesitation ! On a side note, if you bring your pooches up please pick up after them. There are not many options that allow pets so be grateful for such a great place to stay with your animals and keep it nice for others in the future!
Manager response:
Thank you, William, for your feedback. The homeowner has the deck scheduled for repair along with a kitchen remodel this summer. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to host you again.

This cabin chalet was the perfect getaway for my wife and I. As I already reviewed this chalet on the VRBO app, I'll just hit on some of the highlights of that review.
Location was perfect! The houses to either side of us were empty during our stay. The cabin is precious!! But, it wouldn't hurt to have someone come in and freshen the place up, or have a handyman come through and put some finishing touches on the cabin. It was like we were stepping back in time, or visiting our grandparents. We got a kick out of the vcr and decent selection of VHS tapes. The lower level "bed" was about as soft as a set of box springs so we opted to sleep upstairs in one of the full size beds (maybe queen??). Restless sleep had my wife use the second full/twin bunk bed in the loft. The second night we found a mattress topper in a closet and attempted to sleep on the floor of the 1st floor. Better night sleep, but not the best. For future renters, bring your own pillows. The kitchen had what we needed for our stay, but again a handyman's touch wouldn't hurt. The private hot tub was a definite bonus. It was the only listing that had an actual private hot tub, and not a public. The hot tub was nice and hot, but we couldn't figure out how to use the control panel so it was all guess work. The deck needs work, as there is a soft spot right by the door. One thing that we found unsettling was upon our arrival the soft cover for the hot tub was off and behind the hot tub. After a late morning/early afternoon trip we returned to find the soft cover put over the hard cover for the hot tub. Someone had been on the property without our knowledge. As this is our first time as VRBO users we were unaware of short term rental practices. Is this a thing? It was unsettling and definitely changed the feeIing of privacy. I will add that the interior was clean and orderly, outside under the deck and behind the parking spot was littered with junk (broken sleds, boxes). Not a huge deal, but wanted to leave an honest review. Lastly don't worry about an alarm. Future renters will be awoken between 5:40-6:05 am due to a woodpecker making it's home in the side of the house. We found it historical and found it to be added charm.
One quick note for Vacasa: please have any/all info in one central location. There was info on the wall by the front door, a lamented piece of paper on a shelf, info on the fridge, info on paper attached to the back slider. Can you just out everything in one binder? Maybe some hot tub instructions as well? We absolutely loved this place, as it had it's own charm and would absolutely return (with an air mattress and pillows from home). Thank you again!!
Manager response:
Hi, Matt! Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your visit. We apologize some of your concerns were not addressed prior to your arrival: we have been waiting for the snow to melt. The broken items you mentioned were buried beneath the snow and will be taken care of right away, and the deck will be addressed this summer. The hot tub is serviced regularly by a company that does not provide their schedule to us, but they never enter the home. Thanks again!

We had a fantastic time and loved the decor, the overall layout of the space and the ease to get to Tahoe Donner amenities and cross country trails. We hope to be back a future time!

We had such a wonderful stay in the cabin.
The inside and outside is absolutely beautiful.
We will definitely be back soon!!!

We loved our stay! All the essentials are provided so after going out and buying food we never had to leave the cabin. There is plenty of space for outdoor activities out back of the cabin and a spacious porch in front. We took our dogs and had a great time taking them on long walks along the road and playing with them in the snow out back. We even saw a coyote trekking around the snow early one morning.

Really enjoyed our stay. Home is a bit older in terms of finishes and amenities.

We stayed for quiet weekend in Tahoe and loved our stay. Everything was great. One small suggestion would be to stock the kitchen with more supplies for cooking and eating/drinking. More glasses, pots, mixing bowls, scissors etc. I had to mix pancake batter in a pitcher to make do.
Manager response:
Hello Roshni, We apologize for the home not having everything you needed in the kitchen. We have sent this information to our local management staff to work with the owner in correcting this. We do hope you will allow us to host you again in the future.
Tom H. Jul 2019
Really great location lots of large pine trees. Not far from town if you need anything. Hot tub needs some work on the pumps it thermally overloaded twice. But it was great having it after a long hike.
Manager response:
Hi, Tom! We apologize for the difficulties you experienced with the hot tub. We have reached out to the tech to have them service it. Thank you!
Jesus L. Jul 2019
I loved our trip will definitely be revisiting
The hot tub was amazing, washed and dryer, kitchen and fireplace was perfect
We loved the retro feel and collection of VHS movies for kids.
Great price great location very private

Great family cabin. Close to skiing, sledding and town. The furniture and beds are not that comfortable, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
Ashley Lambertz d. Feb 2019
Perfect for our family, bed was a bit lumpy but the rest made up for it. Bring your own movies and games
Lisa R. Feb 2018
This cabin was a great escape for our family. A little dated and rustic, but that added to the overall charm. The hottub was a great feature and amenities to Tahoe Donner Resort were nice. Our only complaint was that there was no firewood provided even though the listing said that there would be some. Even when we called to complain, none arrived even after they said that they would deliver some. Bring your own wood, kindling, and firestarters.
Manager response:
We apologize for the confusion regarding the firewood. This owner does not provide any for guest use, and we have updated all our information to accurately reflect that. Thank you!

Location was quiet. Parking was on a steep slope. Recommend 4x4 if any snow. Cabin was clean. Hot tub was very nice and relaxing after a long day of hiking.

Old school cabin but very cute. Don't expect the nicest amenities as it's just a rental home. Everything was in decent shape and worked well. I wish there were more blankets as it was quite chilly. Great living room area with lots of room for Fido. Super clean jacuzzi which was great! Bathroom is a strange green color but otherwise clean. I wish the deck was enclosed so fido can roam around the house without trying to get those little squirrels all around the property. Other than that, the BBQ was in great shape, the deck brand new, kitchen was all right. Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the quiet surroundings. Thanks!
Brian G. Jul 2017
It was only 3 of my friends but it was more than enough of space to have fun and was overall a perfect cabin for the 3 of us
Jacquelyn G. Jan 2017
We liked this place because we were able to sled in the backyard. The cabin needs a complete update in the kitchen and bathrooms. But we loved the open living room and the location. The kids loved playing and sleeping in the loft.
Allison R. Jan 2017
Nice and relaxing.

Its a very nice quite place. Neighbor Paul was so helpful and caring.Thank you Paul for everything you did.
Steve F. Nov 2016
Great location, nice quiet street. The cabin itself could use some updating, but it suited our needs for one night as we were visiting family that has a cabin a mile away.
Kristen T. Jul 2016
A little old and funky but great for an affordable family getaway
Angel H. Jun 2016
This was an awesome location! It was very quiet and beautiful! My wife and I loved it and we are looking forward to returning with our kids! The cabin was fantastic! Vacasa was seamless! I can't say enough about it our time in Truckee was incredible! Thank You!

Great property close to everything and very quiet
Ecaterina M. May 2016
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin. House is very clean and supplied with towels, soup, shampoo. Was very nice to have hot tub)) Cabin is very close to Reno, and Lake Tahoe.
We would love to come back

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It is an old home, with older appliances and furnishings, but pretty clean and stocked with games and books. We appreciated being able to bring our small dog. The home served our purposes, and we would stay here again.
Rob V. Mar 2016
We enjoyed staying in this charming cabin. The living room with its high cathedral ceiling was particularly pleasant, and the private hot tub on the cabin's deck was a big hit. Slight downside is the fact that there is only one bathroom. Also, although the cabin sleeps 7, there are three double beds and one single, so it depends on your party's composition whether you can actually use all the beds.
Michael P. Feb 2016
This is a great area. Unfortunately this property could use some TLC. There is no cover for the stairs and front door which are on the slope side of the roof. Between the steep slope of the driveway and wood stairs leading up to the house it was icy and hazardous. Heat is a free standing gas heater in the corner of the living room, no wood provided for the wood stove, no heat in the kitchen at all. Outside lights to get to the hot tub did not work. Hot tub jets only worked in one corner and only on low. If this was my friends cabin and they told me I could use it in exchange for working on it I would not mind.

Had fun at this cabin during the Christmas Holiday, it's comfortable and close to everything. There was a lot of snow so the driveway was a little steep and slippery and fits two cars only, we had to use wood to block tires after parking due to the ice. Hot tub was great, jets are not very strong but was still relaxing. The retro bathroom was funky but functional, never ran out of hot water! Would have enjoyed a bigger TV since we were snowed in a couple of days. Needs a new refrigerator, put a lot of our food items in snow since fridge was not getting cold enough. The BBQ was great, the large windows in the living room were nice to watch the snow falling outside. There were a lot of games to play, and the place was always warm and cozy. The back of the home has a nice slope to enjoy sledding, we brought two sleds and had a lot of fun right out back! Overall it was a great getaway, it had that cabin feel we were looking for, we enjoyed our time there and would consider going there again in the future.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. The cabin was nice and cozy. The beds were soft and comfortable. The furnishings were a bit outdated, but they did add to that "cabin feel." The appliances were loud at times, but they were all in working order. Internet onsite was fast and convenient. (Took me a second to figure out that the wifi password that they emailed us was wrong. The right password was located on the coffee table in the living room.) There is cable on TV, but the TV is slightly outdated (no HDMI inputs). It has a nice backyard patio with a working hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking ware, but no cooking supplies, so be sure to bring everything you need for meals. (There's a Safeway, Rite-Aid, and Ace Hardware right down the street if you forget anything.) Overall, we had an awesome weekend here and would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a easy getaway.

My husband and I went for 29th anniversary with our dog. The advertisement made it sound like the house was secluded in the woods. When we drove up we found houses close on either side and across the road it was in a subdivision. The back of the house did have a large treed area. On the inside it was very dated in all the applamicec and furniture.
The large wood like stove fireplace was very nice. They said that they did not have much firwood and we should bring some. We did and we needed all that we brought.
The hot tub was big and nice, but we could not get all of the Jets on. We were not sure if they did not work or if we did not know how to get them on correctly. There were no instructions on how to work the hot tub. We still enjoyed it.
The refrigerator was very loud and took away from the romantic atmosphere. All of the linens and towels were clean but very old and worn. When looking for glasses for wine we found one wine class and one juice glass that would work. Most of the glasses were plastic or very large water glasses. They had a lot of coffee cups. They were what we ended up using.
For the amount of money they are charging I would not go back. It is a shabby cabin. We had a good time but it was a disappointment with being in a subdivision and how the entire place was appointed.
Teresa M. Aug 2015
There was plenty of space for our family of four and our doggies. But the appliances need updating as well as the carpeting. The kids loved hot tub after a day of walking. We would go back, just hoping for some minor improvements
Rick V. Feb 2015
This cabin was a blast from the past with the best selection of all of the greatest Disney movies on VHS! Very comfortable place and a great way to spend a weekend with close friends.
