Another popular destination is Lake Tahoe, less than five miles away from your doorstep. Popular activities you can try at the lake abound, but fishing, kayaking, and even summertime swimming are locals' favorites. You'll be close to a handful of slopes that range from beginner to advanced. Nearby dining options include Ridge Club Bistro and Fox & Hound (both half a mile).
