You'll be staying in a modified ski-in/ski-out property just a quarter-mile from Winter Park Village, about two miles to downtown Winter Park. Ski access is available via a 150-yard walk down a well-maintained path through the woods to the Ski Corridor Trail. (Please note that there will be some stairs.)

Positives: Large and roomy. Nicely appointed. Billed as 4 bedroom, but can easily sleep an additional 2 children on day beds on 2nd floor. Located on green bus line. First stop at end of the day. Unfortunately, this means a 10-15 min ride at the beginning of the day. House has everything a large family or two would need except for humidifying devices. Particularly liked the one car heated garage. Loved the morning view when waking up in master suite - pine trees, mountains and snow. Beautiful. Furniture is high quality and comfortable as are the beds. Hot tub was clean and comfortable. Overall a very positive experience.
Negatives: It is not ski in, ski out. The Corridor connecting the Mary Jane area to Winterpark runs right behind condo unit. However, to access it is necessary to stumble through ~ 100 ft of deep snow (not shoveled) on a modestly sloped hill and then climb a steel stair case for 2 1/2 flights. We did once and then abandoned the effort. Not sure why the condominium association doesn't create a shoveled, concrete walkway to the stairs - then it would be skin in, ski out. Fortunately, the base is a 3 min drive to Winter Park base. It is also possible to walk ~ 100 yards down Iron Horse road to a slope that leads (walk uphill) to the aforementioned corridor (assuming the snow is not too deep). My wife also thought the unit was not clean. We have previously managed rental property and it reminded us of the condition of a property at the end of a rental season - dirt has accumulated and the weekly light cleaning is insufficient.

Overall the property was very nice - soaring ceilings, outstanding views from MBR, well-equipped kitchen. comfortable furniture, excellent location, We would return if it were truly ski in, ski out.
