The property was very nice exactly how described. Across the street from a park which was really nice. However, there was a bunch of white dog hair throughout the property which made it very irritating. If you're allergic to dogs I don't recommend booking this property. Dog hair will get all over your clothes, towels and bedding. There was a lack of snow equipment to clear the driveway and steps entering the property.
Manager response:
Robert, thank you for your feedback. While we are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, we apologize for the issues you encountered in the home. We are so sorry for any residual pet hair in the unit. We will follow-up with our housekeeping team to see that future cleans are completed to our standards. We will also make arrangement to get a shovel ready for the house. We hope we can have another chance to host you for a much more enjoyable stay in the future!

My partner and I were looking to just getaway, spend lots of quality time together and cook lots of yummy meals. This cottage was perfect for that!!! The kitchen is fully equipped to be able to make any meal, and there were all kinds of games, streaming services, a fire pit, jacuzzi, cozy blankets, etc.

It was super easy to check in, it was clean, and everything was pretty easy to use! Even though it wasn’t super important to us for the kind of trip we wanted to have, it was decently close to town as well!

We appreciated the thoughtfulness. It seemed as though there were all the creature comforts we wanted and needed. It was nicely designed and furnished, and was very comfortable :)

Something to note…if you are looking for a secluded getaway, this is not it. The plots of land are very small and you are right next to lots of
Neighbors who can look into the backyard & hear everything. It’s also right next to a school.

A few things that weren’t ideal, but also not a huuuge deal:
- The jacuzzi took a REALLY LONG TIME to warm up. Like, hours. We didn’t expect this, and also didn’t know there would be “spa hours” that ended at 10pm, so on our first night of only two nights, we only had a tiny amount of time to enjoy it before we had to get out because the sign said we would get “fined and evicted” for going in the jacuzzi past 10pm. I understand for a big group being loud and rowdy outside, this would be a good rule to keep the neighbors happy. But, for a quiet couple it was less than ideal, as the sun sets late in the summer and you want to go in when it is cooler outside after dark.
- There was no A/C, and even with fans it got a bit hot at times. When the ceiling fan upstairs was on high, they would rattle and make a noise that we couldn’t sleep with. There were other small fans but they had this super bright blue light that made it difficult to sleep because it lit the whole room up blue.

Other than that, it was a cute place and we had a wonderful time!! Thank you so much 😊

Very cute, updated, great wifi, park across the street for the dog. Loud construction thru entire visit. Was looking to switch places and they were MIA. Basically once they have your money expect rude, non-responsive service. The "24/7" service is a call center that cannot answer a thing.
Manager response:
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us Bobbie. We are happy that you enjoyed our home. We apologize for any negative impact the construction noise had on your stay. We apologize that our communication was lacking. Please know we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes but are working to add additional staff so that our guests questions and concerns are handled in a timely manner. Thank you for staying with us. We hope that you'll visit again.

Very modern inside. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Plenty of space for up to 8 people. Arcade was a hit with my kids. Getting into the Jacuzzi after a long day of hiking was great. Across the street was a park with a large playground. Overall me and my family enjoyed our stay. My only critique would be lack of air-conditioning. I knew before renting the property that there wasn't AC. Even with all ceiling fans running and all the windows open, it was still quite warm during the day.

My best friend and I needed a nice little getaway earlier this month and let me tell you how thankful I am that I chose the Cedar House ! It’s even more incredible in person than the pictures on the listing! We were beyond impressed. They had everything we needed and the owners were super responsive for a silly question we had. I seriously recommend staying here. So cozy but also so open and so much room for multiple people to enjoy. And the jacuzzi under it’s own pergola is so perfect! If I could do more than 5 stars I would ! Thanks again Cedar House !

Our party of 8 (2 families with young kids) stayed for a long weekend, along with my family’s 2 dogs. The decor and amenities were wonderful… modern and newly-renovated. The hot tub and fire pit make the most of the limited space in the backyard, and never felt cramped. It’s a unique layout, and probably even more perfect for a single family with multiple ages of kids. The downstairs bedroom twin bunk bed also has a twin mattress trundle. Loft bedroom upstairs has a King size bed, and very room up, but not a ton of privacy. Central heating, washer/dryer, and WiFi worked great and without a hitch. Kitchen very well-stocked with dishes, cookware, appliances. Has a combination coffee multi serve pot/single pod Keurig, toaster, microwave, oven, stovetop, dishwasher. Lots of serving wear and knives, spices too. All linens provided, including extra sheets/towels/pillows. The whole place was immaculately clean. Little game room off the downstairs bedroom was such a hit with our kiddos. Neighborhood is residential and quiet. About 15min drive to slopes/village/snow activities, which we did not mind one bit. Across the street from a nice park, including a playground and nice skate park. Great for the kids to blow off some steam. We would absolutely stay here again! Highly recommended!

This place was immaculate. The house was updated nicely on the inside with all the modern amenities but still had that snowy cabin feel. The house was spacious and had enough room to entertain and lounge around comfortably.

Starting from the street appearance, the house looks quaint and was easy to find. There was parking enough for two large trucks in the driveway.

Once you walk through the front door, (Vacasa sends you the door code before arriving) you are greeted by beautiful vaulted ceilings, a massive brick wall with a fire place in it, and enter the living room/kitchen. Off to the side of the living room/kitchen is a cozy dining room with a table enough to seat 8 people. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, bows, cups, knifes and utensils.

Walking through the first floor of the house is the downstairs bathroom with a tub/shower and a LARGE (brand new) washer and dryer.

Even further you enter the down stairs bedroom with a Queen bed and bunk beds. The room is that same modern/cozy feeling and decorated nicely. There’s plenty of board games to choose from. Attached to that room is a game room with a really cool arcade game with all the great oldies and other games.

And then you reach the backyard… The backyard is amazing! You walk out onto a wooden deck with party space. There is a propane grill and propane fire pit. (Don’t worry, there is already propane tanks there for you to use.) I cant not mention the jacuzzi. It was perfect! The jets pumped hard, the thing lights up.. and if felt so good to relax in the nice hot jacuzzi when there’s snow and cold air around you.

Lastly, that brings us to the master suite upstairs. It’s part of the loft where you can look down on the living room and dining room. There is an extremely comfortable king sized bed with nice warm and clean blankets and sheets. There is another one of those smart TV’s to watch TV in bed at night. There is a walk-in closet with enough space to bring all your big snow jackets. The Bathroom has a heater in the ceiling to keep you warm when yo use out of the shower. Each bathroom in in the house has single use toiletries and fresh towels. There are also three air purifiers around the house to keep the air fresh.

Overall, if your looking for the perfect home for your Big Bear trip.. I would HIGHLY recommend this house. It’s located in the town of Sugarloaf. Inside the neighborhood, there is a restaurant and market 0.45 miles away from the house. Perfect for walking distance if you need refreshments or forget to bring enough wood and tortilla chips. It’s about ten minutes from the town of Big Bear. There are some of the best restaurants and bars just 15 minutes away from the house in “The Village” of Big Bear. If you don’t feel like getting too far away from the house, go visit Big Bear Snow Play and take the kids or yourself down the snowy hills on inter tubes. Only 5ish minutes away.

I hope you enjoy the home as much as we did. It was such a great place to create memories I proposed to my future wife and she said YES! 5 Stars.
