The North Lake Tahoe Recreation Park was just what we were looking for to entertain our young kids. The price was right at $5 to park and $5 each to sled. Plenty of open space for snowmen and snowball throwing.

The volume of snow (~ 30 ft. in past month) in the back yard and at many of the local trails rendered it impossible to hike with our dogs. However, we were able to snowshoe and cross country ski on the groomed trails at Tahoe Cross Country (golf course) with our dogs.

This house is nicely located for North Tahoe fun. We skied at Homewood and Northstar. Homewood has great prices for families. The nearby commercial sledding hills are small and best for young families.

House needs updating allover. It just needs caring hands to do it, would not be expensive to get newer used furnishings. Cookware was unusable for us, Teflon was peeling off the pans and pots. Stainless Steel cookware would be better replacement, and a larger pot and baking pan. Kitchen cabinets are very old and hardware (knobs and handles) is very sharp.

There is a nice area in the back to slide with the kids, save my self a couple hundred dollars, a small walk and than hour's of free fun. Couple of things only, there was no toilet paper on the restrooms, wifi a little slow, and perhaps instructions on how to use the chimney, other than that everything was great.

The beach at Waterman's Landing is perfect for walking your doggie, letting him/her play in the water, and searching for heart-shaped stones among the thousands of polished river rocks there. My dog and I enjoyed walking there very much.

There are so many winding trails, I could just hop on my bike and find a new hill to climb for hours of fitness and fun! No need to drive anywhere to get some great mountain biking in!
And it's a super short drive to tons of outdoor activities from the lake to hiking to boating launches.

For sledding with kiddos, North Tahoe Park has great sledding hills! Parking is $5 for the whole day and there are smaller hills at the entrance... if you continue through the parking lot, all the way at the end, there are two bigger hills with stairs that are a lot of fun. The bigger hills cost $5/person for all day, but that's SO cheap compared to other sledding places!

Kayaking on the Lake in the morning was very special. We rented kayaks from Adrift at Kings Beach and made our way to the first outcropping of boulders, docked our kayaks, and jumped in the crystal waters. The water was invigorating!

Nice place stay for a small family. A few more bowls that have lids would be nice to store left overs in the fridge or plastic wrap/tin foil.

My only complaint would be the club house, the girl in there is very unfriendly and rude. But the condo we stayed in was amazing!! I loved it and will definantly be going back!

There is a great pizza spot just down the hill from Carnelian Woods (when you get to N. Lake Blvd, immediately to your left). Also Gar's grill is across the way and very yummy. Everything you need is within a short drive, including Northstar ski resort which is only 10min. away.
