The lake is about 1/2 mile away. We walked to it in the snow and wow! Such a beautiful sight!

Our stay was in the summer so DL Bliss state park was amazing. We have a baby so we didnt do too much hiking, but we hung out at the beach. The was a little on the cold side, but the clarity of the water, the view and the weather was great!

The Tahoma Market makes really good sandwiches and in big portion. And, I normally don't care for sandwiches.

West shore is an absolute must if you want to go to Tahoe. Some of our favorite things are:
    Food: Westside Pizza
Obexers Marina for breakfast burritos (ask for the curry sauce)
    Swiss House

    Activities:
    Hiking
Biking, paddleboarding, boating, and much more (WestShore Rentals)

It is a wonderful walking neighborhood. Start every morning with a nice walk to the market for a paper and a coffee. End every afternoon with a short walk to Chambers landing. Due to the warm weather this January we were able to do this almost every day. It was wonderful.

Walk or drive to the end of Bear Rd where you can park. Snow covered trail leads to mountain meadow with view of the lake. Great area for dogs. Sugar Pine Point Park is also a beautiful place very near. Homewood ski area is ok for beginners and children.
Handy convenience store a few blocks away.
