Recent Finger Lakes vacation rental reviews

Up for a concert and needed a place to stay. Great location on the lake and close to both ends (restaurants and wineries). Clean two bedroom full kitchen unit attached to a home. Steps to the lake, hot tub and fire pit all made for a enjoyable visit.

This home is beautiful, nicely furnished, well supplied and has a great view. We loved sitting on the deck with morning coffee, while it was shady, and also sitting on the deck at night. Also, Hammondsport is very convenient with several really nice places to eat. The only drawback was the soft water that wouldn't let us rinse clean. Normally it wouldn't have been an issue, but we were going to a wedding and the water left our hair frizzy. But really, if you're in the area to explore and hang out, this place is really nice.

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. Super clean, nice decorative touches, kitchen well equipped, comfy beds. Bathroom with shower and laundry is on first floor. Correcting the lack of internet access and no dishwasher detergent will turn this into a great stay!

Where are the Finger Lakes, NY?

Located in upstate New York, between Niagara Falls and New York City, this region is home to 11 major Finger Lakes—with other, smaller bodies of water as well. Carved from glaciers millions of years ago, these long, narrow lakes run in a vertical direction across central New York. Their names are Canadice, Canandaigua, Cayuga, Conesus, Hemlock, Honeoye, Keuka, Seneca, Skaneateles, Otisco, and Owasco.

It may seem like a lot to choose from, but our Finger Lakes vacation homes cover much of the region, so you won’t have to miss out on anything this beautiful area has to offer.

Things to do near the Finger Lakes, NY

It’s entirely possible to spend your entire trip to the Finger Lakes just exploring the outdoors. Even if you choose to pursue other options for entertainment, a visit to at least one of the many waterfalls is a must. Taughannock Falls and Buttermilk Falls State Parks are two popular options, whether you’re looking to spend a day hiking or just looking for that perfect photo op of the cascades.

Our Finger Lakes vacation rentals are also surrounded by some of the best wineries in New York. Whether you’re an aficionado or hoping for a guided tasting, there’s something for everyone. The Belhurst Castle Winery is certainly worth a visit—this gorgeous 1880s stone castle in Geneva was voted one of the “Most Romantic Places in New York State,” and for good reason. If you’re looking for something a little funkier, the Three Brothers Wineries and Estates offers wine slushies that are certainly worth a try.
