Loved this cabin. Great area, close to town. Yet you feel like your far from civilization!!! Will come back again.
Sandra V. Feb 2020
The cabin was as expected. Simple and comfortable.
The best thing was the location. Walked to the Lake, to restaurants, even to Heavenly Village.
Brenton B. Sep 2019
Cabin is pretty much as advertised. Nothing fancy, but certainly comfortable and clean. Kitchen is minimally stocked, but fine for light cooking. Quiet location at the end of a dead end street but easy walking distance to the Lake and main drag w/ plenty of restaurants.
Luisita G. Sep 2019
Stayed here during my daughter’s soccer tournament. Cabin size (2BR, 1BA) was just right and location is perfect - right off Ski Run Blvd, at the end of a quiet street, close to the marina/beach, restaurants, shops at Heavenly, and soccer fields (at Tahoe Community College & Middle School) We would definitely book again. Highly recommend! Thank you Vacasa!!
Melanie L. Aug 2019
The cabin is clean and lovely. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. Great central location. We walked to the beach.
Valentina A. Aug 2019
Place was really cozy and location great. Good stay and good service!
Diane A. Aug 2019
This place in horrid and in need of lots of repairs. Mold on the bathroom walls and ceiling, broken closet doors, plugs that don't work, sleeper sofa is bent and unstable and has bugs smashed down on the mattress, dustballs under every chair, bed and table, no place to put your toiletries in the bathroom. Picnic tables and chairs in need of great repair. Every time you sat down you got a splinter on your leg or bottom. Outdoor trash cans were never emptied so there was no room for the trash and overnight an animal would tip over all three trash cans. Had to call in to get the trash picked up. It's very old and needs lots of maintenance.
Manager response:
We are sorry to have been unable to provide you with a more pleasant and accommodating stay, Diane. We have since worked closely with the homeowner to address necessary updates and repairs in order to bring the home fully in line with our standards and expectations for providing an exceptional vacation experience. We hope to host you again in the future.

Adorable and comfortable cabin. Love the layout of the units within the complex. Clean and had everything needed for a nice stay!
Michael V. Oct 2018
2nd time staying here
Like the room, and property. Dogs enjoy it here
Staff really good
Only problem was that had to check in at the office instead of the Spruce cabins. Went there first than had to go to office, not like last time, the construction caused such bad back up and had to sit through it a second time to go back to office.

Cabin was more than we expected. Charming, clean and cozy. In a perfect location too. Walking distance to great food. Also, close enough to walk to the Marina. We loved it and will definitely be coming back. If not to this cabin, to one of the others in the compound.

My husband and I live in Davis so we drive to Tahoe for hikes occasionally. We rented this house for a weekend vacation with my mother while she was visiting CA. We also brought our two dogs. Its a great location for seeing Lake Tahoe for the first time. The house was super clean and comfortable. The location is great, we actually walked to Heavenly Village and the casinos and the trailheads to a couple of our favorite hikes are easy driving distance. The fireplace provides all the heat but it was more than sufficient and nice to spend time by. The internet was not functional for us but we didn't really need it. Overall the rental was ideal for our needs.

We have been coming to Spruce Grove for three years now and, while we love the place and the area, I am always let down by the non existent wi fi , I have to resort to a phone hotspot.
Magdelynn G. Oct 2017
Great location for winter or summer. We BBQ one night and had everything we needed. The only down fall is the wifi. If you are going on the weekend the whole place only has enough banwidth for about one group. So bring your own hot spot if you need reliable internet. Next time we visit his spot we are going to rent the whole place out!!!

The Spruce Cabins are a little gem tucked away in South Lake Tahoe. The cabin was clean and well-furnished and it came with a robust complement of dishes, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. We grilled out and cooked several meals at the cabin, but the property is walking distance from many of SLT's unique restaurants and bars as well as the lake. The reservation and check-in and -out processes were very easy. The courtyard was pretty and well-maintained and it was a nice place to relax. We were very pleased with Spruce Cabins and would definitely stay there again.

This was one of the cheaper places that we stayed at. It was great location and property was nice. The inside could use some update to date remodeling, but if you're looking to just come and chill at the lake it would be great to just stay the night.
Ruth L. Apr 2017
Very close to shopping centers and the Marina. First time visiting booked online very simple and easy, quiet place and enough space for the kids to play outside. Will be staying here for our next trip to Lake Tahoe.
Eric M. Mar 2017
This cabin is in a great location and for the price it's a great value. It is close to everything in South Lake Tahoe. There was a little Hill down the street that my kids were able to sled on. It's dog friendly.

This is the second time we have stayed at Spruce Grove cabins. The first time we stayed in the Big Bear cabin and this time the Washoe (I think thats what its called) cabins are spacious and have nice spacious living rooms. It looks like theyve done some remodeling and they are SO MUCH better. Love the hardwood floors. We met the actual owner of the property and he was very nice! Our truck got stuck in the snow because of the storm and he helped us dig it out. We come here with our dogs and it is so nice that we are able to shut the gates and let them run around and play. We will DEFINITELY stay here again and recommend to our friends and family.
Myriam B. Nov 2016
It is very nice

Nice clean place!
Nice views of the forest!
thank you

The Pros:
Good location and cheap

- Promised WiFi was non-working. Just because you have a WiFi router in the office doesn't mean that you "have WiFi". So don't go there if you need to have WiFi.
- The china in the kitchen was severely lacking - there were only two wine glasses and very limited number of plates in the kitchen. No tea pot.
- While the unit itself was mostly clean, the furniture was covered in pet hair and BBQ was disgusting.
- The biggest problem is that it is a community, but the management was not on site and because of that no one paid attention that jacuzzi was left uncovered and became dirty and there was a large group of college kids that partied and yelled loudly until 4am in the morning.

If you read the earlier reviews you can see that the management promised to take care of these issues, but apparently did not.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see that this guest was disappointed with their accommodations. The WiFi is working, the Property Manager has replaced the missing dishes, the BBQ has been cleaned, and the hot tub has been cleaned as well. The owner of these cabins plans on doing updates this winter that we look forward to sharing with our guests.
Michael H. Jul 2016
Close to the beach. Very quiet area. Upkeep could be better (showers and closets). But for the price, it isn't so bad considering the price gouging that happens in the Tahoe area. I kind of wished that the garbage dumpster for the community wasn't right outside the kitchen window either. But like I said earlier, for the price it wasn't too bad. 7 out of 10.
Barbara B. Jul 2016
Our children had a great time playing on the property and we were relaxed because of the fence. They brought scooters and that worked out good, parents could enjoy their stay too.
Chris N. May 2016
Pictures are very misleading. Flooring is old and cracking. Bedding is a disaster unless you enjoy sleeping on rocks. My wife couldn't take a bath the tub is that dirty. We cut our stay 1 day short just to get home to our own home/bed
Manager response:
We are very disappointed to see that this stay was not more enjoyable. The Property Manager will speak with the owner about the flooring and bedding, and we will work with housekeeping on making sure their jobs are done more thoroughly.
Ganesh R. Apr 2016
There was no wifi coverage in the cabin. But we had a very comfortable stay otherwise.
Manager response:
We will look into the internet situation as there should be coverage at this cabin; we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Lillian H. Mar 2016
Cabin was comfortanle. Heat from gas stove good in livingroom+bathroom+kitchen. Heat did not really reach bedrooms very well.
Bedding is lacking: all blankets too thin&not enough.
If you are not too finicky it's a O.K. place too stay.
Hot tub was excellent.
Lisa B. Mar 2016
The property was in a very good location. It was quiet and gated, we did not have dogs but it is dog friendly and very safe for dogs inside the gate). The house was cozy and perfect for 4 people.

However, the beds were not very comfortable, they only provided 2 rolls of toilet paper (I would bring more if you have more than 4 people, the wifi DID NOT work and there was not very good cell service so don't plan on doing any homework or work while there.. I think the modem is shared bc we only got okay service in the bedrooms but was very limited then as well and plan to eat out since the pots and pan situation is very very limited. I was a little disappointed as we enjoy eating in more than going out.

Overall, not bad but wasn't the perfect place for us.
Manager response:
We apologize that the WiFi was not more reliable during your stay and that housekeeping did not properly stock the home. We will make sure that a proper starting amount of toilet paper is supplied, and we will look into the internet and kitchen supplies.
Siobhan C. Mar 2016
Great place with a community and safe feel - close to all of south Lake Tahoe and yet quiet and relaxing.
Alisha R. Jan 2016
This cabin is very cozy and inviting! The furnishings and decor is Indian related and bathroom and kitchen is little out dated but overall wonderful fun place for family. Bed are comfortable, good heating off of the gas fire place and wifi works just fine~!
Neelofer B. Dec 2015
My friends and I had a wonderful time at the Vacasa Washoe cabin. It was small and cute and perfect for our weekend snowboarding getaway. Location is great!
Vanessa B. Dec 2015
The heat is an issue it does not heat the entire home- the bedrooms remain cold. There is no wifi. If there is then 1 bar at the most. And not enough towels so bring your own.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We apologize that you were so cold; the Property Manager will inspect the heating to make sure our guests are comfortable, and we will make sure the WiFi is working properly. We hope you enjoyed the location and made great memories!
Erin W. Sep 2015
The cabin and property were perfect for our weekend visit with our kids and dog. Everything was well cared for and safe. Great location close to so many destinations! Look forward to coming back!
Sandra F. Aug 2015
Great location, near everything. The fact that you can bring your dog was a big deciding point for us. The other people staying in the other cabins were also great.
Noah . Jul 2015
This cabin is in an enclosed area of other cabins. The kids were able to run around in the grass outside safely. We could walk or ride bikes to the lake/beach/restaurants, etc. It was great to have a full kitchen to cook family meals too.
Lake Tahoe is stunning with so much to offer. We hiked, rode bikes, hung out at the lake and so much more. Perfect family vacation. Thank you Vacasa!
Katira A. Jan 2015
The washoe cabin was great. Easy to book, easy to check in, very close to the base of heavenly as well as shops and restaurants. I highly recommend it.
Lisa I. Aug 2014
We stayed in the Washoe cabin & it was very comfortable, clean & spacious. Thank you!
Sara A. Aug 2014
Get driving directions and check in instructions prior to climbing the mountains, cell service is limited in the area and can delay or detour your check in, especially after hours or on Sundays
Audrey R. Jul 2014
Very clean cabin, comfortable beds. The area is quite nice. The cabin in at the end of a road so very quiet. Great grounds with lots of grass, enclosed gated yard for kids and dogs. We will return.
Steve H. Jul 2014
Great cabins, great place to be. About a 10 minute or so walk to the beach.
Kathleen K. May 2014
I love the cabins here. Dog and kid friendly, hot tub and very cute clean cabins. It's peaceful and in walking distance to the lake and restaurants. Eat at Cafe Fiore and have a cocktail at Cafe Nephels. Both great places and 1 block away from the cabin.
Manager response:
This is great feedback! Thanks for the food and drinks recommendations!
Erica C. May 2014
Great location, quiet and great for kids and pets! Near to lots of great trails and sights. Stores and restaurants located nearby.
