Let the glow of this Homewood vacation rental cabin welcome you. Tucked into a forest of tall California pines, the Sunshine Getaway is the perfect spot for your next family vacation to the coveted Chamberlands development of Lake Tahoe.

Staying at this home means you'll be only one and a half miles away from the beautiful Homewood Ski Resort. In the summer months, you'll have exclusive access to Chambers Landing Beach and a free neighborhood shuttle to take you there and back!

The charming country feel of this cabin's decor will make you feel comfortable and right at home. With tall ceilings and lots of windows to let in light from every angle, you may choose to sit in this cozy living room in the mornings curled up with a good book and feeling the warmth of the sun. Or you may decide to watch a DVD on the flat screen TV. You will also enjoy having a gas fireplace to keep you warm on those chilly nights after a day on the slopes or a long swim in the lake. The sofa is also a sofa bed so everyone will have a cozy place to sleep at night.

With four more bedrooms, there is plenty of room for everyone. The lucky guests in the master bedroom will have sliding doors leading outside, and can bask in the Americana decor while snuggling up in a queen sized bed. The other room has sliding doors as well and a cozy trundle bed, which is a perfect place for the kids! They can turn on their own TV and watch movies at night. There are two more bedrooms, one with another queen bed and another with 4 twins. With all this space, this home will comfortably sleep up to 10 guests. And with baby gates, a pack 'n play, and a crib provided, you can rest well knowing that even the little ones have a safe place to sleep.

In the morning, head down to the spacious kitchen that has everything you'll need to fry up some chocolate chip pancakes and western omelets, including a dishwasher for easy cleanup! The center island is the perfect place to chop veggies and have the kids join in on the fun! You'll also be happy to find a high chair provided. With the large dining table just off of the kitchen, everyone can gather around and enjoy a good meal. If you're not ready to head to the beach just yet, step out onto the deck and relax while you finish your cup of coffee. Catch some rays and enjoy the views.

For your convenience, this home also provides a washer and dryer, WiFi for keeping up with emails, cable television, and the necessities for keeping your little ones safe and comfortable. Two and a half bathrooms are located throughout the house, so you'll never have to wait for the shower!

This home is located in the quiet and serene Chamberlands development on the west side of the lake. You'll have access to the lakeside pool in the summer and great piers, where you'll find the legendary bar-cabin and Chambers Punches.

If you decide to go for a drive, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, and Squaw Valley are all 15 to 25 miles away. Snowshoe and cross country skiing adventures are also not too far. And in nice weather, the Lake Tahoe region is home to beautiful bike paths, hiking trails through wildflowers and across foot bridges at Sugar Pine Point State Park, and water activities out on the lake. Boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, a scenic cruise - what more could you ask for?

The house was comfortable and well-stocked. The neighborhood was quiet. The decor felt like a big happy family lived there. Close to Emerald Bay, Water falls, and the DL Bliss State Park with the Rubicon trail, as well as close to Tahoe City. and on the way out North see Squaw Valley and other sites. VACASA, the management team is very responsive

We stayed there 6 days for skiing vacations. The house is spacious, great for us (two families with 4 adults, 4 kids), with lots of equipment in the kitchen for cooking and baking. We loved the big windows with views on the snowy trees around the house. There are also some slides available.
Some things were not in a good state though and could use some repair/renewal (broken sunblinds, pots without handles, broken glass pitcher ...).
Manager response:
We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at our beautiful home. Our local staff will address the issues you have mentioned and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. We hope to host you again soon!

This was such a lovely place to stay! It was super quiet, very clean and was likely the best stocked place I've stayed at to date. The kitchen was great, because so many others had left behind spices and other staples! Everything was so comfortable and private. The only thing I would mention, and I meant to contact the owners regarding this, is that the bears seem to have outsmarted the bear box for disposal. I double checked the security of the box when I placed rubbish for pick up, but in the morning I found the trash strewn. One pointer, when you use the key to open the door, it doesn't keep the door unlocked. So manually unlock the interior knob once inside the home. Not complaints, just suggestions. It was my first time in that area of the country and I loved it!

A great house close to the ski resort and not too far from the shops. Would recommend the location.

We really enjoyed this home in the woods. About a quarter mile from the lake and convenient for outdoor activities and dining in the area. Lovely deck to barbecue on and eat outside. Decorated a bit like a hunting lodge! Only one tv in family room but otherwise covered all our needs. We will come back again.

We enjoyed our stay here in Homewood, CA. The house has a "woodsy" feel to it, which is what we wanted our Tahoe vacation rental to have. The beds were comfortable and the showers work great. The kitchen has nice amenities. It is about a 6 mile drive to the nearest town to eat/shop, which is Tahoe City. Housekeeping was lacking at the house and we had to do a lot of the cleaning upon our arrival.

This was the perfect home for a group of friends from SF looking to spend a holiday weekend near the water. The house was everything it looks like in the photos and more. It comfortably slept 10 and the common space was perfect for family meals and post-dinner games. We loved the close proximity to Chambers Landing and took advantage of the tennis court and private beach access.

I would definitely recommend this house and hope to stay here again one day!

Our family of 7 had a wonderful stay in Homewood for a family wedding. The house was welcoming, very comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. We were just a short walk to the bike trail, which everyone used for running & biking & trips to the beach, only 1 mile away. We were centrally located for all the wedding events and had a fabulous first trip to Tahoe.
Little things meant a lot: beach towels, an iron for spiffing up our wedding attire, a washer and dryer on site. Lovely home, lovely visit!

We stayed in the cabin for my birthday weekend. It was very clean and well stocked with all the cooking utensils. The beds were comfy and we had enough space for 9 people. Would recommend this place to everyone.

This a very nice, well maintained property near Homewood Ski Resort. Surrounded by trees, it offers a great cabin experience. Lots if sheets, towels, well supplied kitchen. Lots of childrens books and games kept our little ones busy too. We all loved this cozy Tahoe cabin!

We recently stayed up in the cabin for a winter trip. Got tons of snow. Kids highlight was playing in snow banks along street. Home was very comfortable with tons of space. We liked the room with two bunk beds and the adjacent rec room with mini pool table and ping pong table. Kitchen stocked well. Great place to stay for great price. Would come back again.

This was one off the best vacation rentals we have been in. Beautiful property and location.

This house could be a showplace, but it is entirely too cluttered with 1980's bric-a-brac and is very dusty. The furniture is old and smelly and needs a good cleaning. There are lots of animal heads on the walls and there is so much dust embedded in them and on everything in the house that it made it hard to breathe. I was sneezing the whole time I was there. Needs a lot of updating, and could be very nice with a little TLC. I felt like I was in a time-warp, or at Granny's house. I liked the location, but that is about all.

Very clean

Our family of 6 including 3 generations really enjoyed this cozy and nicely decorated mountain home for our winter get-a-way. It was a perfect location, close to Homewood, and maintained for good access in the snow. We were very satisfied with everything.

Excellent choice for a ski weekend at Homewood. We loved the house.
ERIK F. Feb 2016
The cabin was great and we would love to come back. we had everything we needed.

The house is very warm and cozy, and at a nice location, close to the Homewood ski resort. We spent three days there during Christmas and enjoyed the snow at Tahoe. The only inconvenience that we encountered is that all three toilets flush weakly and one of them got clogged by the end of our stay. The mattress in the master bedroom could be firmer, but this is just my personal choice. Overall, we had great time in the house!

We enjoyed our stay here. The house was very clean and well-stocked with essentials in the kitchen and toys and games. Only drawback was the noise transfer from upstairs living space to the downstairs bedrooms. Beautiful, low-key location in Homewood.

We stayed just for weekends: 3 families with 4 children. House is very kids friendly, warm, clean and has great decorations! We found everything we needed for our stay and would definitely come again!

Only negative we found ---as animal lovers it was a little disconcerting having so many trophy heads gazing at us.
Marjorie B. Aug 2014
We had a fabulous experience with our rental for a week in Tahoe, the home worked great and we enjoyed hiking from the house as well as all the water sports so close! Can't wait for next summer!
