In the fall, make a cup of coffee and head outside to the deck, where you'll enjoy a front-row seat to the spectacular golds and reds lighting up the trees around you. When the weather turns cold, warm up with a hot meal in the dining room while watching the snow softly fall outside. An absolutely gorgeous house with all the amenities of home making it easy to move right in and enjoy the land. Gorgeous trails and lakes dot the mountains, and cool breezes come through keeping the house nice all day even in 80 degree heat. There is a fireplace outback, and the three levels are quite spacious. Kitchen was fantastic and had enough plates and cookware for the six of us easily. All clean linens and bedding, no issues at all. Would rent again if available

The house and location were very nice. Especially the living room area which is next to the open kitchen area. There is plenty of seating with a FPL and TV. The house was very clean. We didn't find any dirt or insects. The final instruction sheet stated not to use the firewood which I felt is crazy since there is so much available at the house and I'm sure it is very inexpensive for the homeowner to restock. We got used to the multiple levels which provided plenty of room for everyone. We had 3 couples. Our biggest complaints are the beds and the lighting. The beds were beyond awful & probably the worst I've experienced. Every part of the house is dark. Small, inadequate bulbs are used EVERYWHERE including the kitchen where small candelabra bulbs were used. Buy some LEDs. BTW, bring some batteries for the remotes.
Manager response:
We appreciate our guest taking the time to share their experience with us and wish they had called about some of the items they had concerns with. We are unsure what information provided said not to use the firewood as it certainly is there for guests to use. This home does not have overhead lights, and the lamps only accept up to a certain wattage of light bulb. We are sorry to see this was too dark for our guests. The remotes were working when we inspected the home prior to this guest's arrival, but we do keep spare batteries in the junk drawer in case guests find themselves in need during their stay. Thank you!

The location was excellent, the house was beautiful. The natural lighting was abundant. But I did have issues.

Heat: The house while abundant in natural light becomes very hot. There were shades but not everywhere we needed them. The skylights let a tremendous amount of light in and heat as a result. Box fans are provided but do not help lower the temp once elevated and create a massive amount of noise when 4 fans are on throughout. Air conditioning and shades would be a benefit to future guests.

Skylights: aside from the heat, shades would be huge for these because at 5:30 when the sun comes out it gets quite bright and wakes you up before we intend to wake up. Especially when on vacation and trying to sleep in!

Cable tv: 4 tv's 3 boxes. 1 partially defective tv. I had to move a cable box to a bedroom that didn't have a box so we could watch tv at night. And main livingroom tv had defective HDMI port on DVD player so I had to rewire the cable box to a lesser quality port to free up the HDMI port for DVD (the only port it can use) so that we could use both devices without constantly swapping wires.

Screens in windows: All windows with removable screens had the screens in the basement. With the heat build up we needed the windows at night to bring cool air in. But I needed to install the screens before we could. This should have been done before we arrived.

Ants: While in nature ants are expected, we didn't expect them inside on our bed and counters. I got spray from the basement and sprayed the foundation and windows and that seemed to remedy the issue. This could have been done before arrival, but also to be fair, it may not have been a visible issue before either. Preventative spray could be a good future solution.

Damp basement: the coolest area of the house was the basement. But it was far too damp to stay down there for an extended duration. There is a dehumidifier, but it may be undersized.

To be clear and fair, it is a beautiful home and was clean and generally well kept! The issues I experienced and fixed myself likely could have been addressed by Vacasa if I called. But I elected not to. I did so because I had the ability to resolve these issues myself and didn't want to wait for someone to come and fix it when I could do it by the time they arrived.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see there were some issues with this vacation. This is the first summer this owner has had the home, so we will be working on installing shades and seeing how the home does at cooling during the heat. Screens have now been put in to help with this. There is a cable box on the main TV, on the lower sitting area TV, and in one out of the five bedrooms. The unit notes give directions for each TV/input so guests can take advantage of those TVs with cable. We don't spray for ants unless they are a known problem before the guest arrives. We have not noticed any ants, possibly since this guest sprayed for them. We have suggested a dehumidifier for the basement and appreciate the suggestion. We wish the guest had contacted us about these items during their stay so we could assist them at the time, but the feedback is always appreciated at any point. Thank you!
