We visited in July 2020 with our family of 4 adults and 2 kids. We wanted somewhere that our older kids (11 & 15) could have a good time and have room for all of us to be comfortable. Check in was super easy, owner lives next door so if we needed anything he was happy to help. This is not a 5 star resort, it's a lake house, but it's very true to the pics. Could use some updating if he wanted to charge more, but for the price it was spot on.
By far the best highlight is the direct lake access. It is down a little hill with steps, but has a great deck on a quiet cove. We loved spending time swimming off the dock, kayaking (which were provided) and jet skiing. We brought our sea doo, there was a ramp a mile away, and left it at our private dock for our stay. We also really appreciated the farm style dinner table for all of our family to enjoy meals, the cable TV in all rooms and numerous game tables for fun without screens.
The wifi is a bit spotty in the house, but worked fine when you find it. The furniture is has a second-hand feel, but it's no big deal. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends.

There were equally good and bad things about our stay. I’ll start with the positives. The grounds are very spacious and our dogs LOVED exploring! It was VERY dog friendly. The lake is very easily accessible and the grass around the property is kept in pristine condition! The dock is well kept and there are several kayaks, a paddle board and oars to choose from! My group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed using these. Additionally, there are plenty of fish if you like fishing! We brought our own rods and did a lot of catch and release of smaller fish which was a fun activity for all. The AC, ceiling fans, lighting and kitchen appliances were all functional which is quite the relief in this Texas heat. The linens and towels looked and felt freshly washed. The bathrooms were equipped with plenty of towels and some small toiletries. All that being said, there were some things that made it hard to justify the price we paid for our stay. As mentioned in previous reviews, the house is older and somewhat worn down. Additionally, when we arrived there was a thick layer of dust on ALL the furniture and surfaces (tables, chairs, hand rails for stairs, dressers, kitchen counter, bathroom counters, etc). It took us all together about an hour to wipe the entire place down with Clorox wipes on all surfaces. If I could upload pictures of what the wipes looked like I would but they were filthy with dust and grime. The furniture provided in the living room is VERY worn, outdated, not comfortable at all to sit in and musty. The chairs surrounding the poker table are all completely sunken in. I’m surprised because this was mentioned in a review from December 2018 and they have still not been updated or replaced. The pool table air hockey tables are a cool fun way for people to pass the time while waiting to eat breakfast or dinner! The pictures look very nice but the felt on the pool table is warped so the surface is uneven. Also the pool sticks are so worn, there is no tip so you’re basically just hitting the balls with the wood. The property runs on a septic system (no flushing anything but waste down the toilet, FYI) so the water that comes through the faucets has an extremely unpleasant smell. It smells like sewage or waste. The upstairs tub and restroom sink would not drain properly causing the water to back up as you were using either one. A tip for anyone who is going to stay here, the shower down stairs is backwards. In other words, if you want hot water, turn the handle to the side that says cold. The outdoor gas grill is not kept in good shape. While it was fully functional, it was coated in cobwebs and the drip pan has completely rusted and fallen through. The kitchen is fully equipped with just about anything you may need, however, it appears to not have been used for an extended period of time. When we opened the cabinets to begin prepping dinner, there were cobwebs, dust and dead bugs all along with the pots and pans. All of the windows on the interior also have lots of dust, cobwebs and dead bugs. The curtain rods are flimsy and not secure and on several occasions when we attempted to open the curtains to let some sunlight in, the rod (curtains and all) came crashing down. The kitchen window downstairs had mousetraps on the windowsills (empty thankfully) which I understand the purpose of but to see them and have them around the area your are prepping and cooking food is just plain gross and unhealthy. The plates and cups were also very dusty as if they had not been touched in a long time. Also, if you’re staying with a large group for more than 2 nights, I suggest bringing your own kitchen trash bags and 30-gallon trash bags. Those were not provided and we had to get some at the H-E-B near by. The beds are also pretty worn and uncomfortable but after a long day on the water and in the sun it wasn’t too difficult to sleep comfortably. Additionally, the description does mention the homeowner lives on the property full time. So I would not venture to say that you have “the entire place to yourself.” Steve was pleasant to interact with but watched us like a hawk. Something not mentioned here is that you must put the garbage cans inside a shed every night to keep the raccoons from getting in. Steve was kind enough to let us know this when we arrived. On our last night we stayed up late (12a) and were going to venture out to do that chore to find that Steve had done it already. I assume he figured we must have forgotten. We had left a plastic bag outside filled with some deflated floaties (inner tubes) and Steve disposed of these too. I assume he also thought that was a bag of trash. Unfortunately, Steve had disposed of all the trash so our floaties were gone. That was $70 worth of blow up inner tubes. Overall, I think the location and access to the water is great. If the house were updated, the price we paid would be fair. Even so, we enjoyed our stay and just worked around any issues we had and continued to be positive about our weekend. We had a designated contact (Brenda) through Vacasa and she was also pleasant and easy to communicate with. I made memories this weekend that will stay with me forever! It was seriously such a fun and happy weekend! But I would probably not stay here again because I can’t justify the cost for the actual conditions of the home.
Manager response:
Hi, Ruby! We apologize for the issues you experienced during your reservation. The home has been deep cleaned, and the exterior has been power washed. We have replaced the sunken chairs around the table as well as the pool sticks. The owner will continue to make improvements to the home. Thank you for staying with us!

The location of this house could not be better, especially for younger children to swim, kayak, paddle board, etc. in a quiet cove. The home however, left something to be desired. We arrived at the designated check in time and had to wait an extra 20 minutes for the cleaner to finish, there was NO toilet paper or washing detergent provided so, we had to make an extra trip to the store to supply our own. The ad is also deceiving because you’re not allowed to use the fire pit unless you’re renting both units. It’s obvious that the home is not well maintained, but that being said, we spent most of our time in the lake and it served its purpose.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us! We are glad you enjoyed the home. We apologize that the home was not ready for you upon arrival and we are sorry that the home lacked paper and cleaning products. We take guest feedback seriously, and I have forwarded this information to the local staff so they can ensure future guests do not encounter this issue. Our guest services team is available 24 hours a day should any issues arise during your stay. We hope to have the chance to impress you in the future!

Excellent location on a quiet cove within Lake Travis. Was impressed with the water clarity (I was spoiled growing up in MN). Our host was extremely accommodating. Bonus: kayaks were included. Will definitely be coming back!

Dock at the lake, the set up and lots of space to hang out!
Michael O. Sep 2017
Overall this place was pretty good, but it was missing a few things that keep it from 5 stars.

1.) This is a SHARED property, but that is not obvious from the listing. Basically, there is a house next door that could also use the dock, yard, and fire pit. It wasn't an issue for us because the people in the other house never came outside.
2.) Missing outside lights. The side yard with the grill really needs some outside lights or an outlet. They were broken.
3.) Couldn't get the cable to work. They claim there is cable but we only got two broadcast channels and the cable box never sent a signal. We didn't need TV so we didn't call, but just know you might have to call someone.
4.) No response from "owner." This is run by some company in California, and they never responded to my questions prior to arriving. I wanted to know about a grill, and early check in, but never heard anything. We did have a note with a phone number upon arrival, but by then it didn't matter.

Enjoying a weekend in Austin on lake Travis turned out to be such a pleasurable experience. Every commodity available, with no complaints from the teens.

Huge lot with so many things to do indoors and outdoors. Parts of the house (probably the original house) are more cabin- like and cozy. The living room is elegant and fabulous. Very pleasant.
