Where is Granite Shoals, Texas?

Granite Shoals, Texas sits on the bend of Lake LBJ, just eight miles from the town of Marble Falls to the west and Kingsland to the north. Lovers of the big, bold feel of the city are just 44 miles or so from Austin.

This small town of about 5,000 residents is a quiet community made up primarily of second homes, and promotes a lakefront lifestyle with plenty of lakeside cottages, condos, and resort-style accommodations.

Granite Shoals: "The City of Parks"

Granite Shoals is known in Texas Hill Country as "The City of Parks" due to its 19 parks and green spaces surrounding the town.

The Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is a favorite area for hiking, primitive camping and back packing, and bird watching. The highlight is the pink granite dome - once a sacred ground of the native peoples, now a favorite rock climbing location (please check with the state park rangers for details). The views of the landscape and the stars are absolutely the best!

Combine a bit of history, a bit of Wild West, and a whole lot of nature at the LBJ State Park & Historical Site. LBJ State Park offers excellent picnic areas and natural trails that take you through botanical exhibitions (the park is famous in Texas Hill Country for its spring wildflower displays), and past enclosures of wildlife exhibits like living Texas Longhorns and American Bison. History buffs will like the engaging exhibits at the Visitors Center.
