Recent Burnet guest reviews

We stayed here to attend a reunion at a home off Park Rd 4. This cabin was an extremely convenient location and is directly across the canal from a grassy expanse of Log Country Cove, which provides a beautiful view from the screened deck. We stayed in April so it may be busier and noisier during peak summer days, but during our stay, the noisiest things were the birds building their nests in the rafters and the ducks and geese squawking. There were many lovely places to sit and plenty of shade under the house. We used the paddle boards and kayaks and some of the many provided beach towels. The kitchen had plenty of appliances and there’s a small microwave hidden in the cabinet, which is not detectable on any photos. I think I saw a blender. There are plenty of china and plastic dishes, utensils, and pots and pans if you’re planning to cook. No ice maker in the freezer but there is one on the counter, plus a few plastic trays in the freezer. One of my adult kids stayed upstairs-beware of the spiral staircase, which would be difficult for older or handicapped guests (me) and hauling suitcases up there. There is a half bath upstairs on the third level along with the king size bed, and the room is open like a loft but you can’t see the bed from downstairs. The bunk room is on the main level along with the other king bed room, and the main bathroom with shower, no tub. Water pressure was adequate but not pleasing in the shower, which was otherwise great, and has a full size washer and dryer! The main bathroom sink faucet is super cute, but splashes you! The staircase from under the house to the main level is not difficult to negotiate and it’s plenty wide, but you do need to consider how many times you might need to go up and down during your stay if that could be an issue. The house is pet friendly and does not restrict the pet size which so many rentals do. The location is convenient to groceries and gas in Kingsland and there are plenty of places to eat out nearby as well as the caves and the wineries to visit. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Quiet and dark sky.

Great, cute spot right on the lake. My family really enjoyed fishing off the dock—we caught carp, catfish, and more. The kayaks were a great bonus. Overall it’s a great place to stay.
