House was clean and in a nice location on the River. Improvement opportunities are to work on upgrading the home’s air conditioning as it couldn’t keep up with the July heat. Also, We didn’t realize the house doesn’t come with a grill so guests who are expecting to grill out won’t be able to do it at this home. All and all a good place but will likely rent directly through Kiawah the next time we go to the area in order to have access to all of the amenities on Kiawah.
Manager response:
Mark, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, we are glad that you enjoyed the location of our home. We apologize for any inconveniences caused due to the A/C and no grill as an amenity. We aim to be as transparent with our listings as possible and provide accurate and current photos, amenities lists, and descriptions so guests can make an informed choice about what they are paying for and make the right decision for their needs. Additionally, rules are set for the A/C units in our homes to prevent them from overworking, freezing over, and needing repair. We have provided our local manager with your valuable feedback to consider in the future. We appreciate your understanding and allowing us the opportunity to improve and hope to host you again in the future!

The location of the home was fantastic, the pool was a short walk and the beach was a short bike ride to Pier 1. It’s also close to Freshfields, which made it easy to grab food and groceries. We loved the screened in porch, which kept the mosquitos away and allowed us to enjoy the river view and all the wildlife. The house is showing some signs of wear and the water pressure in the primary shower was super weak. Would also have been nice to have a queen bed in one of the bedrooms instead of two rooms with twin beds. Overall, we loved the location and proximity to the pool/ocean, but for the price we would look at other properties in this community in the future.

Sitting on the screened porch, deck or the dock and enjoying the peaceful river views was just what we need to relax and decompress.
Theresa H. Jun 2022
We love this home! Well appointed and the view of the river is amazing!
Wendy R. Jun 2022
We love this house. Was perfectly clean and updated. Love watching the dolphins and wildlife. However, the price has increased drastically to the point that we will no longer be able to rent. As much as we love the house, next summer's price of $7000+ is a little over the top. At $1000 a day, we are going to have to start looking elsewhere to vacation.

We have returned to #5 many times as it has a spectacular view of the Kiawah river and marsh. We enjoyed sitting on the screen porch and watching dolphins and the sunset every evening. The unit is comfortable and nicely decorated, although showing a little wear and tear. Shortcomings include no TV in the bedrooms and wifi too weak for our son to play online video games. The wifi worked fine for working from home such as Zoom calls and e-mail. We will be back.

This really should have been a perfect stay. The house is great, nicely decorated and in a lovely location. What was very disappointing is how little notice has been taken of prior comments. The house was superficial clean only - bedding had not been washed. Not that we wanted to clean, but we felt we had to and then were frustrated by the lack of supplies. We even needed to buy dish soap/dishwasher tablets. The kitchen is stocked with leftovers and oddments. Kitchen implements are of a very poor standard. Crockery and glassware is all bits and pieces. I even had to call to request wine glasses, which were forthcoming but even then only 4 in a house that sleeps 6. All of these things have been pointed out by prior reviewers. If cleanliness is important to you or if you plan to celebrate meals in the house then I would caution against staying here as it stands.

Well-equipped house with a beautiful view and comfortable furnishings and responsive management. Who could ask for anything more?

This is our third stay at 5 Inlet Cove and our longest at two weeks. The river views even on the weather challenged days are priceless. Very private and quiet even by Kiawah standards. Our family also enjoyed this wonderful space. We have been coming to Kiawah for over twenty years and this is one of our favorite places. We’ll be back! Jim and Myriam

Loved the river view, observed dolphins “beaching.”
Clare D. Aug 2021
I’ve been coming to Inlet Cove on Kiawah since I was a kid and this place is great- well appointed, comfortable and a great view of the marsh. We saw dolphins twice while we sat on the screened in porch. We will definitely be back, thank you!

the view from the back porch

House wqs beautiful. View was breathtaking. Saw tons of wildlife from the porch.

This house has a super location on the river. We saw dolphins every day. It’s a very quick walk or bike ride to the beach. The house was spotless and everything was in working order.

Great view of the Kiawah river. Best way to enjoy morning coffee. Beautiful home.
Tracy P. Dec 2020
Beautiful views. Unit is updated with nice layout and comfortable furnishings. Would stay there again.
Louise T. Dec 2020
Very nice and clean. The view is wonderful. I think the kitchen utensils and pans could use updating. I would stay there again!
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Louise. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement. We will pass your suggestions to the owner for consideration, and we hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Very comfortable cottage on the Kiawah River. Wonderful sunsets and views of birds and dolphins! Very peaceful place to relax.
Julianna W. Nov 2020
Beautiful view any time of day or any kind of weather, comfortable well-appointed home, short walk to the beach—-who could ask for more?!
William S. Sep 2020
Absolutely great location!!! BEAUTIFUL river unit overall With new updated deck (cabinets starting to show ware). This is our third time staying in this unit and love the location although we struggle with managements care of the place. VERY dirty upon arrival. Countertops, floors, big brown stain on area rug in family room, old food stuck on the pot holders, food bits inside the drawers in the kitchen, only one kitchen dish towel, only one bath towel set per person. Skimpy kitchen supplies IF you cook when here. NO wine glasses. It was difficult to communicate with VACASA because we were connected to call centers out west trying to resolve little East Coast issues for a one-week stay. Once we were able to connect with the local property manager she took very good care of making things right. And at the end of our Stay we received a call from the regional manager apologizing and offering to make things right for future stays. Overall I would highly recommend the unit just hoping that Vacasa- can figure out their housekeeping and maintenance issues.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us! We are happy to hear you enjoyed the home. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your visit but we are glad our team was able to make things right. We apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused. We hope to host you again for a more enjoyable stay!

The view on the back porch was awesome!!
Julie E. Jun 2020
The villa was decorated great and the view was amazing. Due to COVID they are not allowing anyone but the owners to use the pool. Which was extremely disappointing to my two little kids. Especially after a 13 hour drive to get there. We felt we should have been notified before we arrived. There were some issues with the electric. One of the outlets was hanging out and the light over the table just kept going on and off. I would have that checked just to be safe. Overall, the place was great! We sat on the back porch and loved watching the sunsets. It would have been nice to have a broom just so we could have kept things tidy and a grill so we could have cooked more. Other than that, I would highly recommend it!

Stayed here for years. Usually have to clean when we arrive.
Sandy L. Nov 2019
A great location and view...
Theresa H. Jul 2019
Our family loved #5 Inlet Cove! Well appointed, close to pool and beach as well as being on the river. Every night we sat and watched the sunset. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Hope to return soon.
Jennifer B. Jul 2019
Cottage was clean when we arrived and the decor inside is pretty and beachy. The views of the river and marsh out back are breathtaking, you are literally right on the open river. Location is great, short walk to the pool, walkable to the beach access boardwalk, and bikeable to Freshfields for groceries. Walk/bike to amenities in the Kiawah Resort. You don't need a car which was wonderful.
lynn t. Jun 2019
Loved the location. Sunset is absolutely the best ever and we traveled with people who have traveled to Hawaii. I would prefer more area rugs in the bedrooms. We have stayed here before and brought a front door mat and a kitchen mat to cut down on sandy floors ourselves.
Samuel B. Jun 2019
I've stayed at a lot of the homes in inlet cove and this was by far the best location. The home is on a private drive and has over 180 degree view of the river. We saw sunsets and dolphins and birds every evening. The pool is very close walk and the beach is a short bike ride away! We will definitely come back.

This was a great place to stay. The yard and views are unbeatable!
Melissa D. Jul 2017
First time Kiawah-goers and we feel so lucky that we stumbled across this amazing home. The location is great, along the 'river' where we had deer grazing daily under our feet and dolphins cruising the river banks. It was a very short walk a great pool and an easy and beautiful bike ride to the beach. It was also a quick ride to West Beach Market (gift shop, ice cream, breakfast), and a slightly longer but still do-able bike ride for even my 7 year old to East Beach/Night Heron/Sanctuary hotel and Freshfields Market. We do not like to drive on vacation as we are city people and don't generally drive and this house made this mostly possible! The house itself was comfortable, clean, up to date and had a great beachy feel. There was plenty of towels and more than enough 'starter' supplies. We can't wait to go again and are lamenting that if we go with a bigger group we will have to stay somewhere different.

This cottage is stunning. We visited this cottage a couple of years ago. It has been completely redone on the inside and is totally updated and lovely. The porch has an amazing view - we saw several beautiful sunsets, dolphins every day, and even a bald eagle! The dock and pool are very close by, but you can't hear any noise from them. The General Store, Freshfields, and the beach are very easy bike rides from the house. The house is right out on a point so there's also a lot of privacy. My only complaint is that we had to leave!

We loved the peacefulness of a tree house. It was recently renovated with high end finishes. Quite wonderful. We had a great unencumbered view of the sunsets from the screened in porch. The warmth was welcome in March, maybe too hot in summer. We saw 2 dolphins. Slept with windows open and heard owls one night! Close to beach.
Michael B. Jan 2017
We really enjoyed our New Year's getaway. The home was great and the view was everything I hoped it would be from the pictures. We look forward to renting this unit again in the future.

Super cute cottage. Great location. Plenty of space for the family to spread out. Great crab fishing right off the seawall & morning visits from dolphins. Easy bike rentals thru Alligator bikes. Everyone at Kiawah was very helpful & friendly. We have already recommended this rental to friends.
Carmen S. Jun 2016
It was fantastic!! We had a great week We loved staying on the river. Loved the location to the pool. Beach a little far but if you use the county park entrance there is a bath house which is great for kids. Bring your crab nets, your kayaks and your sunscreen. Enjoy
Michael G. Dec 2015
Great house, newly renovated, on the river, close to the beach. We'll be back.
