This cabin was amazing, the views, the location, everything about this stay exceeded our expectations! We got to see deer, woke up to fog, listened to the birds sing early in the morning! The place was clean and just what we needed to escape the city. We had no issues with cell or GPS (car) service (Verizon).

This charming cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Nestled in a grove of redwoods and completely private, we were serenaded by songbirds and the gentle roar of the distant ocean. It was hard to believe we were only ten minutes away from all modern conveniences. A beautiful, relaxing, and tranquil retreat. Thank you!

If you wanna be out of civilization, but still very close to civilization, then this is the spot! When you turn onto the dirt road expect no service at all for most carriers, no TV, no people, you're in the wilderness, surrounded by redwoods. The cabin is perfect and you have EVERYTHING you need to make food, shower, sleep, BBQ, etc. Pretty good pricing too :) I would stay again!

Dear old Dad's Cabin was a comfortable and quiet break from the usual. No wifi and no cell service (T-Mobile) gave my wife and me time to have pleasant conversation without interruption. Being located in the middle of the trees provided us opportunities to get out and pick huckleberries for pancakes! It poured down rain each night and we could hear it on the roof, like white noise lulling us to sleep. Comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen finished it off nicely.

What else could we ask for? Redwood trees all around, a cabin/cottage that is in such good shape that it looks like new, and it is so delightfully furnished and comfortable. No Wi-Fi, but we were expecting that and we did have cell service.

This was just the right place for my family of three. We enjoyed the location and even got to see a bear from the deck. We will be staying again for sure.

This cute little cabin is nestled in the middle of a redwood forest. It has large windows which make you feel you are in the middle of woods. It is very secluded, and seems in the middle of nowhere, but it is just 6 or 7 minutes away from US 101. Downtown McKinleyville is just as close. A hidden gem!

I loved everything about this place! Very quiet. Beautiful Redwoods in front of the huge deck. Very comfortable bed. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need. The BBQ grill was definitely a plus! I will definitely be making many trips back to Dear Ol' Dads! I found my 2nd home vacation spot! Thank you to the owner Bob for the story behind Dear Ol' Dad's. You sir did an amazing job on the cabin & I look forward to many trips back to Dear Ol' Dad's!

Good location. Our only comment is to make a note on the directions that the house is past the first driveway rather than turning on it.

Surely more than a little cabin. Very comfortable, not camping. Secluded yet close to town. Great deck w/ BBQ. Just the getaway we needed.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the place. Beautiful views, nice bed, great kitchen, it all seemed so new. The deck was certainly the place to be early morning and evening. The gas grill was real handy. We’d certainly stay there again.

It was very quiet and restful. The cabin is small, but clean and modern. It's three miles from services, but that was ok with us.
