This home had Plenty of space for my family I really enjoyed seeing the deers, wild turkeys and the bear that came every night we really enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful cabin

The house are really nice, I think the only problem I would say was getting in took a while, my check-in was at 4pm and I didn’t get into the house until 6pm because the lock was messed up, and I had to wait for someone to come and fix it. I had frozen groceries, and my drive was 2hrs so something’s like my birthday cake melted. A couple of screens was broken and the countertop (island part) was wobbly and loose. In the master bedroom, the bathroom floor a bit dirty.

Beautiful view, nice size house

Loved the secluded aspect of this home and the decor was amazing. We even had a bear pay us a visit.

Really enjoyed our stay! Loved that the balcony areas are screened in.

The cabin was beautiful. They had everything and anything you could think of. It was perfect. The home is simply amazing
Nina F. Mar 2021
The cabin and view is beautiful. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. However, the kitchen counters and stove had not even been wiped off. There were utensils with food still on them in the drawers. A rug had not been cleaned. The suite was very dusty. One of the tubs did not drain well. The fridge was really small for a large cabin. A bathroom door did not latch and would open on its own. There was supposed to be an air hockey table for the kids, but it had been removed. The pictures show a garage, but it was inaccessible. The dryer did not heat up. This cabin needs some maintenance and a good cleaning.
Manager response:
Hi, Nina! We appreciate you choosing to stay with us and sincerely apologize housekeeping missed the mark. The home will be properly cleaned right away. The garage photo has been removed since it is not accessible to guests, and the air hockey table has been removed as an advertised amenity. Maintenance will be taking care of the door latch and drain. Thank you!

The house was really nice and very laid out floor plan. My family really enjoy the house and the property. The hot tub was nice in the evenings to relax in. We used the pool table a lot for family competition which was great.
My cons were they had guys working on painting polyurethane on the house when we arrived and the smell was awful and then they showed up again the next day. I contacted Vacas they that was resolved immediately, so very happy for the customer service they provided. Some basic maintenance on the house could be done like the screens on the porches are torn, the handle on the upstairs shower is coming off. The air hockey table needs to be replaced or removed it’s not really working. Over all it was a nice trip once the smell of polyurethane went away. I would book this house again.

This cabin was so amazing. It was so spacious and at a reasonable price! Coming from Florida, driving in the mountains to get there was a little nerve wracking but an experience I loved to gain! The hot tub was amazing, everything was clean, and it was a nice, safe little vacation to have in a world full of covid. The only thing I recommend is if you need a strong internet connection to bring an ethernet cable.

Very nice cabin with plenty of room. The cabin had plenty of room on the outside porches to sit and rock the afternoon away.
Easy to get to and convenient to town

The house was great. It is nice to have an accessible house big enough to hold a lot of people.
Would be nice to have a bigger/better refrigerator, with a working ice maker. We had 12 people there for 4 days, with a lot of food!

When we first stepped into the cabin, I was a bit disappointed. The online pictures of the place gave the appearance of an “upscale rustic” cabin, while a more accurate description would be “rustic but homey.” It was not bright and well-lit as the pictures. I don’t mind staying somewhere less swanky but would just like to adjust my expectations beforehand.
Having said that, my 20-something-year-old kids, as well as our dogs, loved the place. Everyone agreed that it was comfy and provided a lot of space to spread out.
- Able to spread out with multiple areas to watch tv and chill out
- Furniture was comfortable, although the back den couch had some areas that felt like you were sitting in a hole
- The hot tub overlooking the woods was nice-sized and the water was hot and clean
- The mattresses were all comfortable except for the bunk area downstairs. The young men who slept in those beds complained that they were very uncomfortable.
- The addition added to the back of the cabin was nice. It included a back den with panoramic windows, a nice sized master bedroom, and a loft area above the master bedroom.
- Plenty of hot water
- Overall, the cabin was clean (just a few areas that need attention)
- Dogs were allowed with a reasonable fee (and the ample space provided room for them to move around). There was no “dog smell” or loose dog hairs from previous renters.
- The tv in the front den only picked up about three channels (the back den picked up more)
- The view was just okay - the woods have grown up to somewhat limit the views
- The kitchen cabinets are old, and the cookware was hit or miss. Most of the nonstick pans were in bad shape. It was challenging to cook on the stovetop with the warped pans. (Fortunately, we brought a griddle).
- The downstairs carpet was really dirty.
- The pool table was not in good shape – the pockets were broken, and the balls fell to the ground. The air hockey table had “dead” spots.
- In the back-addition area, there was minimal lighting in the evenings. So, at night, the back den could only be used to watch tv/movies. There was not enough light to read a book or to see if playing family games. Also, the added master bedroom did not have a closet, but only a chest-of-drawers to unpack our clothes. The bathroom shower was quite moldy (I bleached it when I arrived). And, the upstairs loft was not the ideal set-up for someone to use because it did not have a bathroom. Also, it was quite warm, especially during the summer. We ended up not using the loft as a bedroom as planned because the person did not want to have to come into our bedroom to use the bathroom. However, we did use it as a study, and it worked great for that. It had a table and a small sitting area and the WIFI reception worked acceptably.
Overall, the cabin was fine and met our needs. Vacasa was okay to deal with as far as making reservations. But, as noted by another reviewer, the company did not answer my emails about details on the cabin.

Very spacious cabin 2 miles up a long and winding road. It was an adventure for those of us not used to driving up mountains but we loved the views! The house was not completely clean when we arrived. A bedroom and bathroom upstairs had been overlooked but after a call to Vacasa 3 employees arrived and quickly took care of it. It could use a good cleaning as the carpet down the stairs was dirty, the air filters needed to be replaced and vents cleaned.
Our group of 8 enjoyed the pool table and air hockey, fire pit and relaxing in the hot tub. The view of the mountains was amazing and so relaxing. Great house for a family trip.
Things to look out for: bats under the deck, poison ivy around the fire pit and bears! We came across a bear walking down the street. An experience we will not forget!
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Avelina. We are happy to hear you enjoyed Paradise Lodge. We have reached out to our local manager with your comments and suggestions. Thank you for bringing them to our attention. We hope to host you again soon!

As we sat around the picnic table on the the covered porch for our last dinner meal of our 4-day weekend event, I asked my traditional question, "So what did you like most about our trip this time?" Without delay, my 14 yr. old grandson said, "This cabin!" Spacious, with a large kitchen, inviting bedrooms and an expansive views, our family returned in the afternoon after exploring the local area to follow the decorative sign hanging over the doorway to the back porch to "Sit Long, Talk Much!" As an author researching the local area for an upcoming book on the history of Cherokee National Forest in TN, I found the the cabin's location to be perfect for me to explore the Copper Basin.

Nice and roomy for a large group.
The place needs a deep cleaning, pest control and some maintenance.
Manager response:

Great location for a large group of ladies..The only negative was that it said sleeps 12. Actually, one of the full beds is a bottom bunk. It would not sleep two adults of normal size without some touching. We ended up with one on the couch. The space is amazing. The location is minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. I think the owners need to add a couple of futons for those renting for a large group of individuals.

This is our second time staying at The Paradise Lodge, we keep coming back to this place for a reason! It has plenty of space and was perfect for two families. There were nine of us all together, but plenty more could have fit comfortably. I love the fact that there are no back neighbors and the cabins are not close to each other. This cabin in particular has a great fire pit to enjoy. The game room could use a little updating, but we enjoyed playing pool and air hockey. The view of the mountains was perfect and relaxing. Thank you for another great trip!
