Beautiful Barn & Home w/ Bucolic Setting, Fireplace, Firepit & Horse Stalls!

Remember how fun it was to play in the hayloft of your granddaddy’s barn when you were a kid? Well it’s still fun, but this ain’t your granddaddy’s barn.

The downstairs is all business. With eight stalls and paddocks with automatic waterers, a tack room, and a horse-wash station, your horses will feel right at home. Maybe you want to bring a llama, a dog, or a wallaroo. I don’t care, throw ‘em in a stall. The Stalls at Whitefish wants to accommodate your needs.

And you’re probably a little more discerning than your pets, which is why the upstairs is well-appointed to suit your needs. This space was built for relaxation, so you can veg out watching TV; clean up after a day of hiking, riding, or skiing in the rainfall shower; or watch the fire glow from your bed.

Only four miles from downtown Whitefish, The Stalls at Whitefish is conveniently close to town yet it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. Bucolic at its best. In the summer, you can grill a steak and eat next to the campfire. There are miles of trails for horse riding, mountain biking, and hiking. Or, spend the afternoon in the garden reading a book, taking a nap on the bed swing, or sneaking a raspberry or two. Heck, I’ll even let you hoe the weeds out of the corn.

In the winter, you can snowshoe, cross country ski (there’s even a groomed trail a few miles down the road), snowmobile, or head up to Big Mountain for a day of downhill skiing. No matter what you like to do, we’re close to it. And when the day is done, there’s no better setting in which to relax.

A rare gem of a place. The apartment looks like something out of Architectural Digest. Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and stocked with everything essential. The property is both rustic and refined - the gardens, firepit and picnic areas are lovely. The host was incredibly solicitous and responsive to our every need. It was a convenient 15 minute drive to downtown Whitefish, 40 minutes to Glacier National Park. We truly loved our stay here.

Doug's place is most comfortable and clean place. The home is thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated. It was a perfect place for our 9 months infant.

Somethings to note:
1) The house is located in the woods. Hence perfect for family retreat it is equipped with everything needed to enjoy family time such as chess table, outdoor grill, campfire, beautiful garden with swing etc. Also, there are nice neighborhood trails that you can take for evening and morning stroll.

2) The road to the house is unpaved. Try to reach home in daylight for the first time.

3) Wifi can be spotty and hence perfect for retreat. If you are planning to work from home it might not be the place for you.

Overall, we really loved the home and our stay at Dougs place.
