The house was beautiful and fit our needs while we stayed.

This review is 5 stars and I don’t hesitate to give it based on OUR EXPERIENCE… but yours may be different. Mainly, we stayed in June, prime season, for three nights for $850ish dollars. That is a fantastic price for the central location and allows me to give it a 5 star review based on that price. I tried to book this same trip in the future, next year, at this exact same week and the cost was going to be $1,577… so the price doubled. It would not receive even a 3 star review for three nights at $1,577. So, I’ll run through the pros and cons, and understand that for our price, it absolutely WAS a five star experience. Location is great. Walking distance to everything. Was a big fan of being right by the restaurants, beach and pier. The house is very clean and clearly updated recently. There is NO DISHWASHER or Washer/Dryer. but there is a free laundry room shared by the group of apartments… though you need a code to get in and it wasn’t provided by Vacasa but I’m sure they would respond if you texted them. Vacasa was really good at communicating as well. They DO provide linens and bath towels. That wasn’t listed but we asked. The master bed (Queen) is VERY firm. I didn’t like it myself, but everyone has their own preference so I didn’t feel it appropriate for me to take stars off for something that may be someone else’s preference. There was nothing in the house to clean to counters, which seems like a weird oversight, but we bought some Clorox wipes to clean up after ourselves. It is partial AC, meaning there is a wall unit (a mini-split of high quality) in the living room, and no AC in either bedroom. If the doors stay open then you’ll never notice there isn’t AC in the rooms, but if you shut the doors at night the rooms do get warm. There is one parking space, which is in the grass. Literally anywhere else requires you to pay to park in both Kure and Carolina beach. And I mean EVERYWHERE… it’s $15 for three hours everywhere.. paid via an app… this does keep Kure less busy and small town feel, but if anyone wanted to come visit (prior to 6pm) you’d have to pay. If a second car came there is no way around paying over $100 for a week pass. There is no ice maker in the fridge. There is no outdoor shower but a community waterhose does exist to let you wash the same off your feet/legs before going in the house… it’s connected to the neighbor property but we just assumed it was community use.

We loved this unit because it was not near public beach access, and it was like we had our own semiprivate cove to play and swim in. We LOVED the pool right on the beach. Not big and fancy, but never overcrowded. It is also 1/2 mile from the NC Aquarium, and steps away from the Fort Fisher Museum. Overall, the room was clean when we arrived and instructions were easy to follow. There are several nice restaurants close by and Carolina Beach is just a short drive (less than 10 minutes) with more choices and activities. If you love beaches that are not full of people, this is a great place.
