Historic lakefront home with firepit - minutes to water!

Drop a fishing line in Lake Buchanan off the shore and bask in the slow pace of life here at Seahorse Cove. The spacious property sits right on one of Texas' best bass fishing lakes, and the home's beautifully detailed interior retains all its original vintage charm. Take in the calming lake views from the covered back porch and let your worries slip away.

This beautiful 1930 home, originally a Texas Ranger's bunkhouse, sits on a cove shaped like a horse's head. Tie off your boat on-site on the cove side, or slide a rented kayak into the water from the sandy stretch of lakeshore. In addition to bass, the lake is also abundant with catfish and even gar, an ambitious catch. If you're up for some cliff jumping - or just swimming - explore Inks Lake State Park about nine miles to the south. And it's a short drive to the Burnet town center if you need groceries or want to see a movie.

The full kitchen's homey details make it the perfect spot for relaxing after a long day in the sunshine. The studio layout gives you plenty of space to spread out, while the cozy kitchen will make you feel right at home. Connect to the free WiFi to post photos of your big catch, or step back outside to build a fire in the chimenea or firepit.

Reserve your spot at Seahorse Cove today! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Great secluded cabin with beautiful sunset views... close to Inks Lake State Park & lots of other activities in the area. Bring plenty of water for drinking (the water has a strong sulfur smell) and keep an eye out for scorpions, but also deer, raccoon, geese, heron & hummingbirds! A great escape from the day-to-day.

The cabin was okay, but the private lake front is what made the whole trip! There is a boat ramp, private beach and even a trail to walk along the land. It was beautiful, quiet and private. Perfect for a romantic getaway.

My husband and I rented this little gem to get away, relax and connect. I must say we were so impressed. This cabin is right on the lake and the scenery is beautiful. The property itself is really big, there are tons of amazing rocks and flowers and we caught a 30 lb catfish!! 💕❤️ Loved our stay and highly recommend if you’re looking for a country getaway!

My boyfriend and I rented this spot to get out of Austin for a few days for a little R&R. This cabin had everything we needed - dishes, utensils, towels, cookware, etc. which was really nice. Bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and the grounds were nice and spacious. We enjoyed having both the cove side for our canoe and the "beach" side for swimming. The place is small but super open and was the perfect size for two people.

A few things to note to help you plan ahead:
- water had a pretty strong sulphur smell/taste so we chose to buy water for drinking
- there's not a microwave (but plenty of pots/pans for using the oven/range)
- bathroom walls go about 98% of the way to the ceiling so not completely sound/smell proof
- no dishwasher

it's a beautiful cabin! We had breakfast by the lake.

It was very peaceful

The cabin is rustic and romantic at the same time, the scenes out of the windows is great. The beach area is great for watching sunsets. Vineyard right up the street for daily wine tastings. Wont want to leave.

We enjoyed every bit of our stay. Cottage was awesome! Recommend a filter on the shower head though. Water smells of sulfur, because it comes from a well, but if you can get past that, the property is fantastic!

Loved the location and the lake! It was quiet and beautiful!

The location of this property is amazing. In the mornings and evenings we were on the beach enjoying the water. The afternoons we were cooling off in the bunkhouse.
The bunkhouse is a very rustic, original looking bunkhouse. Nothing fancy, but everything you need, to be comfortable. No microwave, but there is a kuerig coffee maker.
My husband and son fished daily and caught big mouth bass and catfish right off the shore !
It’s definitely only big enough for two, or a third on the couch. There is no separate bedroom, it’s one big room, with a separate huge kitchen.
We would definitely come back for the amazing location on the lake.

Chose the Ranger's Cowboy cabin for its beach, fishing and nature! Loved the peace and quiet with beautiful Lake Buchanan right out the front door.

Beautiful area and the cabin was done just right. Very cozy and comfortable. Nice beach where you can actually enjoy the lake. We had a great time.

It was our 29th wedding anniversary. Beautiful view of the lake. House took us back in time and was comfortable like an old shirt that you love. Taste of the hill country scenary around you and a beautiful beach below. And a cool 100 degrees that was aided by the cool water of the lake and a nice breeze. Love our Texas.

Wow. Better than we expected. The owners of this cabin made sure you had everything you needed. Such a peaceful place to sit outside under the trees, or a short walk to lakeside. If you prefer to stay inside it was comfortable, games to play, TV or internet - it was all there. Can't wait to return!

This is a great spot for a couple to retreat to for a long weekend! Boat dock and beach easily accessible on the property. Huge oak trees and a lot of history! Highly recommend!

My husband and I got away for a quick two-night trip for my birthday and this was the perfect spot. It stormed the evening we arrived but then the rain stopped and we sat on the porch watching the lightning flash across the sky over Lake Buchanan. We hiked around Inks Lake the next day, went swimming and my husband fished a few different spots on the property. We tried to have a couple of kayaks delivered to the beach, but the rental shop wasn't officially open for the summer. Next time we'll book at the beginning of June. : )

The pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful , private location. We had everything we needed. Great location to tour wineries, spend time at state parks, sightseeing, etc. we also brought our kayaks and so nice to be able to just get on water from your own private beach. Lots of wildlife also. Really can’t say enough. We will be back!
