Well stocked, clean, organized home.
It’s nice and cozy. Very well maintained. Will love to stay again
While the place looks updated in photos, it’s in dire need of maintenance.Dont count on magament copmany to help. We arrived to a closed lower level/entryway and they sent someone out the next morning, but the stench remained from soggy carpet. All the did was bring a tiny fan and carpet fresh powder with no access to a vacuum. Lightbulbs our in every room, outdoor patios unusable due to animal feces on furniture and floor. No access to any sort of cleaning implements such as broom, dustpan, vacuum.
We apologize for the issues this guest encountered. We have cleaned the decks and replaced all the light bulbs. Thank you!
Great location. Beautiful and spacious condo.
Wonderful updated Condo in Gold Bend development. Fully stocked kitchen and great WiFi made for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
The "General Manager" of Truckee is a joke. She heard my grievance after it was passed on only to try to offer me a discount and/or refund. She stated she would call me back in an hour. Two hours later I was calling her for an update, all to get a bs response that Portland, OR is an hour ahead of us. I live in Santa Rosa, CA... which just happens to be on the west coast like Portland OR. She told me Tuesday 5/22/2018 she would call me the following day, but as of this 5/28/2018 I have received no further communication from her. I had a man stare through my third story window at 7 am to see my girlfriend unclothed and still in bed. The Truckee "General Manager" also had the audacity to complain about another customer she was "dealing" with to me. She complained about the other customer not understanding how banking works. She also had the nerve to tell us we should have called at 7 am to be put into another place, after we had told her that the incident was so upsetting that we left the property entirely. Four hours prior to our check out time. I know personally I will never be using this service again. My girlfriend and I spent two days in this place and each day we had a worker on the roof or staining the back patios preventing us from using the property’s amenities without any notice. Let’s not forget this place had NO hot water, both in the shower and in the kitchen.
Truckee area has some downtown shops that could be useful to hang out for little gifts as well as casual dining. The problem though is that everything in the Northstar and Truckee closes early by 9 to 9:30pm everything is closed. Also if it snows it gets slippery and a 4x4 vehicle would be highly recommended as they don't clean up the back streets much.
Most of the Lodges on the slopes are expensive with tea at $6 but skiing is not cheap..Bring a backpack for the slopes if on a budget as food on the slope can run into a high price.
The property itself is very nice and the views are stunning of the mountain! Very happy with all that! The only concerns would be to possibly the mattresses of the master bedroom and the bunk bed as they are too soft.. But some people maybe OK with that. The third bedroom mattress was good.
All was good as indicated on the instructions. You can use the Northstar ski shuttle phone number for the guests -- as we ddin't know it -- 530-562-2257 and to download the Northstar Shuttle app. It can take you to the village for the slopes or the rec center. (alternatively can go by car to the rec center and scan the card provided by the host to open the gates and park, but DO NOT PARK there and go skiing as that is specifically NOT allowed) Also if skiing a good way to track and see your skiing maps, etc is using the EPICMix app. Northstar skiing is good and not as much wind as in Heavenly. Also the snow was good too, even though some was a made snow..
We went to Heavenly too and the skiing is better on the Nevada side of the mountain with some wide blue slopes. (Check out Orion!) Views in Heavenly are "Heavenly"!
So sit back, get your skis/snowboards together and enjoy your stay! It is awesome!
Lots of stairs but otherwise a great place to stay. We were grateful for the toy basket. It is very close to Northstar. Th free shuttle is only a simple app click away and is so convenient!
Townhouse was amazing very clean beautiful fireplace and credible kitchen with an island plenty of room Deck with a grill even can't wait to stay there again
Great spot with nice updated kitchen and open floorplan.
Lots of stairs but otherwise a great place to stay.
Very Clean and family friendly!
What a great unit for a snow getaway. Bigger than we thought - allowing everyone their own space. There were four of us. Clean and updated decor. Even games to play. We left a puzzle for the next gang. All the basics you need in the kitchen. Water heater needs to be serviced, but everything else was great. Beautiful view and setting off decks. Fantastic and convenient location to Northstar village.
They do NOT provide a check in bag of goodies. Its a bag of cleaning supplies like detergent, not wine like mentioned in an earlier review.
We apologize for any disappointments this guest experienced and wish they had contacted us during their stay.
This is a great condo, really nice and spacious for its size. However there are a lot of stairs so if you have babies (they do have gates) or elderly be advised. Otherwise location is less than 5 minutes from Northstar and a quick 15 trip to kings beach area.
*We were not able to access the Rec Center using the cards left by management, luckily someone let us in.
*Only 1 parking pass was present, management brought an additional pass the next day. (We had no issues without it for the first night - we put a note in the dash).
*Lower queen bedroom ceiling lightbulb was out, nightstand lamps were fine.
*There is a gas grill & propane on the patio - not listed in profile.
*Patio furniture is functional but not ideal or comfortable.
*There is a lovely trail through the woods behind the unit that leads to the village/rec center road. (it's marked with maps & under 1 mile)
*Car park is a bit of a distance from the unit front door (to consider when unloading)
Fireplace is not intuitive but it works, follow the instructions on the tin sheet using these tips:
*Locate & turn on the wall switch behind the TV console
*Remove protection glass & the front log to find the pilot
*Use own lighter to get pilot going (you will hear the gas after following the instructions)
*The remote is not necessary to control the fire but it's the small black remote with red buttons (there are several remotes, none of them are labeled)
Had a wonderful stay in this condo, the layout is great for many people to spread and never feel crowded. Lots of nice games, and the kitchen is well equipped. We'll be back!
Overall, we had a great time at this property. It was conveniently located just a few minutes drive from the Northstar resort and had a good supply of kitchenware so that we could enjoy meals at the condo. We were able to use the club house pass for convenient parking and access to Northstar club house (pool, multiple hot tubs, game room, gym) amenities. Be advised that there are quite a few steps down to the property which might be a problem in the winter or for elderly folks. It wasn't a problem at all for our August trip with a group of teens and parents.
We were in this home for 2 nights, using all 3 bedrooms. The first night as I was standing in the kitchen a drip of water came from the ceiling and fell in front of my face. As I looked up there was a slight swell in the ceiling and a crack/hole opened up and water started pouring out in a steady stream like a light faucet. The water smelled and was discolored. We placed a large bowl on the kitchen floor to catch it. We called Vacasa and they said that someone had been out that day to take a look at it prior to us checking in - so they obviously knew of the problem prior to our check in and didn't alert us or offer us a different unit! Then they promised to send someone out to take a look the next day. So we slept that night, not able to use the bathroom. The next morning we quickly vacated the house and ate out, not able to use the kitchen with the smelly bathroom water leaking from the ceiling. We came back that afternoon to find one of the clean bath towel spread on the kitchen floor underneath the mixing bowl that was filled with smelly yellow /brown water and also found pieces and flakes of plaster ceiling all around the area. Someone came by to assess and felt it OK to make a bigger mess and not fix the problem for paying guests. We spoke on the phone and they claimed it was the shower pipe leaking and said "please don't use the shower". Everything about this is unacceptable, disappointing, disgusting, and a health hazard for our kids. We couldn't use the bathroom or the kitchen and our stay was a complete nightmare.
My husband called and complained to only be offered a credit equal to the cleaning fee of $130. We've left another message and our call has not been returned and we have seen no credit of any kind. This is completely and totally unacceptable and we feel completely screwed over especially since we paid in full in advance. Terrible.
It was a nice condo, lots of steps to get to the home
Excellent condo perfect for a family beautiful interior. Location is great in the mountains and amazing views from balconies.
This condo was perfect for our little family getaway, and the Northstar property was amazing!
Great location, good price! Very happy moms with a group of teenagers!
From the parking lot, there are a lot of stairs outside to negotiate, whether coming or going. The condominium has 3 stories, and so your legs will get a workout. However in all other respects this condo was perfect for us. The bedroom and bath upstairs allow for great privacy, in our case, for the grandparents. Then the two bedrooms and bath on main floor were perfect for everyone else. The great room, with the open living, dining, and kitchen areas serves as a nice place to gather after the day's activities. We would rent this condo again, if available, next year .
We were delighted with this property. It is very, very clean, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable great room. The only thing we would suggest is to bring your pillows as are less than desirable.
This has to be the nicest equipped Gold Bend condo I've stayed in. The kitchen is gorgeous and well stocked with pots and pans - cooking was a breeze. It's a great, large, comfortable condo - we'd definitely stay there again.
That said, there's two issues with it. First is the general complaint about Gold Bend - it's often quite a walk up or down stairs from the parking lot to the condo, and from there to the shuttle stop. Not a horrible distance, but annoying in ski boots or if transporting luggage through snow. Parking can also be a bit of a challenge, especially on busy weekends when there's plenty of snow. Northstar does a great job of plowing the lots, but there's only so much they can do, and it can take a while for them to do it.
The second issue is condo-specific; this unit has a tankless water heater that just can't get quite hot enough, given the temperature of the incoming water in winter. It was possible to have a warm shower in one bathroom when the tap was set all the way to hot, but good luck having a bath - the heater just can't keep up with the flow. It's a minor issue for us, but with smaller children who can't yet shower it might be more difficult.
