Location is as described - super close to keystone, and very affordable. The unit had some dangling wire molding (likely for fire detector wires) so that was a bit concerning, and the unit was not terribly clean with stains on the carpet and blue stains near the outside door. Overall definitely a budget spot but for the price and location hard to beat
Manager response:
Hi, William! We're so glad you stayed with us and appreciate your feedback. The property manager has been advised of your concerns with the wiring, carpet, and stains. Thank you!

Review of FD1145. Spacious living room, but problematical sleeping loft. My wife and I stayed in Flying Dutchman Condominiums 1445 for two weeks in January, 2022. It's a fairly large, clean, comfortable and well-decorated apartment that is part of a multi-unit building located in the sprawling "ski village" that has grown up along Soda Ridge Road, near the Keystone Ski Resort. The building is fifty yards off this quiet road, and has an easily-accessed parking. The unit is on the second floor of the building (or at least one goes up a flight of stairs to get to it). Some of the pros of the apartment are: (1) Its location, about a mile from Keystone's Peru Lift, and with a stop of the free shuttle bus adjoining the parking lot; (2) Its spacious living/dining room, with its odorless and trouble-free gas-fired fireplace that provides ambiance and warmth after a long day of skiing. Some of the cons are: (1) The bedroom loft, which is accessed by a cramped spiral staircase (my wife stubbed her toe on it in the middle of the night), has a very low ceiling (I whacked my head three or four times) and lacks a bathroom (I found the shlep down and up the stairs made getting back to sleep harder); (2) The very small kitchen, with has only a tiny amount of counter space and a half-height fridge that’s very low the floor (so much so, that I routinely got down on my hands and knees to access it). Generally speaking, I feel that the pros outweigh the cons, for we developed workarounds for the latter. However, a disconcerting number of things in the apartment are broken: An eight-foot section of electrical cable tray has separated from the ceiling and is hanging loose, supported by the wires within; one of the four burners on the electric stove fails to heat; the fridge is missing a bar that, were it in place, would allow tall beverage containers to be stored upright; the door-lock won’t click shut (or at least not without slamming the door), necessitating the use of the deadlock. Outside the apartment, the handrail in the stairwell nearest the parking lot is broken. Oddly, given the upscale location, the kitchen is very meagerly equipped: no potholders, no serving spoons, 1 soup spoon, 2 dinner forks, 2 salad forks, 3 cereal bowls, ... We found that we were having to run the dishwasher both before and after dinner, whereas we would have preferred just to have done a load afterwards. We found other aspects of the apartment more favorable. We were pleased that the WiFi worked so well, because ours was a working vacation during which we had to periodically check in with our employer. The bed is comfortable, as is the sofa by the fireplace. The wooden dining room table and chairs make for pleasant meals, and also second as a desk. The condo’s laundromat, on the floor below, tales credit cards and has machines big enough that one load sufficed for both our needs. Because of our finding the sleeping loft less than optimal, we would not rate the apartment above 4/5. But because of encountering so many broken items, we feel that 3/5 is appropriate.
Manager response:
We appreciate you staying with us, Dallas. More kitchen utensils have been provided, the HOA has been notified about the railing, and maintenance is taking care of the door and cable cord. Thank you!

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The staff was very available by phone and email with any questions. Checking in and out, and all directions, were well organized and easy. The fold out couch is not particularly comfortable, so bear this in mind if planning to use it.

My mom came to colorado to visit me and we escaped to the mountains for acouple of days. This place was a great place and we loved the pool. The only things I would say are that the kitchen is small but was perfect for us because we didn't do much cooking. And it works to make simple meals. Additionally I struggled to get the lock box to close every time I opend it to get the key out. Both these were minor things and over all we loved the place.

We loved the condo! Our stay was great and being SOO close to the bus stop was the cherry onto! Thank you! All I would add for you coffee lovers out there staying here; they had coffee grounds and maker, but no sugar or creamer, pick some up on your way! Great stay at a cool place!

This condo was exceptionally clean and we loved how open and large the main area was. We were also very happy with all the storage and the size of the bathroom. The check in process was so easy and the parking was so convenient. We loved the location too!

The apartment was very nice for our needs

Great appartment complex (pool, sauna, hot tube, ski closet). Access to ski resort is very easy with the free shuttle to Keystone every 20mins.

The Flying Dutchman unit was clean and very close to the lifts. With the bus right outside your door, we were able to get to Keystone within minutes! It worked out well for my family of four, and we would not hesitate to stay here again! Working with Key to the Rockies was also very seamless, as they provided a quick and easy way to pickup the keys and provided references for some of the partners they work with in the area for some discounts.
Daniel . Mar 2015
Condo was everything that we expected from the description. Shuttle service to the Keystone ski lifts was a few steps from the building.
Christopher . Feb 2015
As for the condo itself: the place was incredible! Definitely was plenty big enough for the two of us and had all the necessities of home. We will definitely stay here again. Oh, and the guy at the office was extremely friendly and helpful.

Me and my fianc went to Keystone for our anniversary. We had a lovely stay at Patrice's place. It feels just like home. We can't wait to go back and stay at the same place next year.
Whitney . Dec 2014
Very comfortable condo near Keystone. We only popped in for two nights but wished we could have stayed longer! Full size fridge would have been nice, but otherwise everything was excellent.
Greg . Nov 2014
Directions to and from the check-in office were very clear and the staff was very friendly. Overall the apartment was as advertised. The cable was out in the living room, but Key to the Rockies gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to make up for it.
