Nice house, clean, just like the photos show. Don't bring jet ski up this area. Nowhere to turn them around. Otherwise, was a great house.

Beautiful cabin in a private setting.
Loved playing pool and relaxing on the porch. Super nice kitchen and outdoor grill.
We would have given it a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the condition of the road to get to the cabin and the drive way.
Also items were missing that was listed for the cabin, such as a VCR or landline phone.
We had no cell phone service either except for Wifi calling only which was available.

I love everything about this place! This was our second time staying here because of how homely it feels. Our two dogs love running around the deck and playing in the living room. We set a sleeping bag on the floor in front of the fire and it’s their favorite place to be! The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed staying in the first two days because of snow fall. The pool table is so much fun and even though it’s cold downstairs , we just turn the fireplace on to heat up the room before hand. Highly recommend this cabin! We will be staying every year for our family trip! :))

Everything was very nice and clean. FYI, if you loose power there is a generator. Directions are in the breaker box. It snowed and trees were down. The power was off for about 10 hours. We had no idea there was a generator. The power and roads were fixed quickly.

Loved the cabin but driveway is bad. Cannot turn around in it unless you are driving a go cart.

the cabin was absolutely beautiful with lots of entertainment! It was big enough for my family of five - three adults and two teenagers. The cleanliness was outstanding and the kitchen had all the essentials for cooking 😊. I would definitely like to go back!

Beautiful, spacious cabin perfect for the whole family. We booked this cabin and the nearby Christmas train ride for our 3 girls and stayed the weekend. When it was time to leave Sunday the kids really didn't want to go and have already asked when can we go back. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. We also took the family dog and loved the added touch of the dog bed. She even felt right at home. The roads up the mountain to the cabin are a little steep (but thats to be expected). It has just rained pretty hard so some of the gravel patches were a lot looser which made some parts stressful but overall not terrible if you're used to country roads. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and pool table. We had a blast, thanks!

Beautiful views, beautiful and well appointed house!
Cannot stress this enough - do NOT try to drive a low car to the property and do NOT try to find this place after dark! It is very easy pass by where to get off the main road as well as the house itself. To get turned around trying to navigate the back roads can be very tricky and are compounded by the darkness. But once you make it to the house - wow! So comfortable and relaxing. Just bring food, bottled water, extra ice and you are ready to vacay!

Loved the comfort of this home and everything provided. Just bring your food. The pool table downstairs was fun. Not fond of the road leading up to cabin but it’s normal for a mountain road

Great home and location! Everything you need for your stay! Just bring your food! We will be back!

Clean beautiful place to stay

Lovely cabin, very spacious, well appointed . Pretty quiet but neighbors heard were within earshot. No hot tub though and no backyard. We like to sit outside for camp fires. Nice back deck and porch for the view . Had lots of deer visit daily. The only
Downside to this cabin was the terrible drive on the twisty gravel road, very stressful drive. We saw the comments from other reviews and they were right. It is really a bad road with ruts and dips. The drive way is also a deep cut to get into and steep. We had to park facing out with parking brakes on.You cannot drive any
Type of car up to the cabin. You need to have an suv or truck with all wheel drive. Plan to arrive during daylight only. This bad road limited us to going out only during the day.

We loved the layout of this cabin. We didn't have perfect weather, so we hung out in the cabin more than we normally would, and we enjoyed playing games with our teenage girls in the dining room and den. The kitchen has lots of counter space and nice appliances. The views are beautiful, and we especially enjoyed the screened-in porch. The master bath was nice with a large shower and great water pressure. Our daughter enjoyed having her own space in the basement. The road up to the cabin was a little concerning as we drove my daughter's small Mazda 6, but we were able to get it up and back down without issue. We would definitely rebook at High Bear Nation again.

This cabin had everything I hoped it would. Well stocked kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms on main level. Nice sized kitchen for cooking. The pool table was a bonus. And the VIEWS were so wonderful. Had coffee on the screened in porch in the mornings and wine in the evenings. I love that you are away from people. We wanted a quiet get away and this cabin was perfect!

Luxurious interior and stunning wilderness on exterior-- this cabin was a dream to our children and to us. The interior is completely wood- no drywall that I can recall. Fun details throughout, comfortable beds, hot showers, wrap around deck to watch the sunset over the mountain. My children loved hiking down the mountain and deep into the woods nearby.

So close to so much! Blue Ridge was 12 mins away, amazing waterfall hike in Cherry Log less than five minutes to turn off, then a little ways down the road. Mineral Springs Trail ten minutes away, Carter's Lake with stunning waterfall hike (Tumbling Waterfalls)-- half hour away. We even made it out to Blairsville and Meeks Park, 45 mins away. Blairsville, Blue Ridge, Ellijay-- all near enough to discover delicious dinners and shops.

OH don't forget the blackberry picking down the lane from the cabin, we went out every morning to get our blackberries for breakfast pancakes. A deer came so close we could have touched it! Whirring to the left, its a hummingbird enjoying the troves of wildflowers all down the mountainside. If you love beauty, take your family here!

Would recommend a good vehicle for road, it is a little bumpy on the way up but you will get used to it after first day. Don't plan to get home after dark first night or two. WE'LL BE BACK!!! +JMJ+

The interior of this cabin was really nice and we enjoyed out stay here. The location not bad if you do't mind neighbors without shouting distance, but overall it was a quiet community. Really our only issue was that it was a little tough to get in and out of and not really any options to take the dogs out to use the restroom for a pet friendly property. But over all we enjoyed the property and would book it again...without the pets.

The cabin was beautiful & spacious, nice views, we enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch & taking in all that Gods nature provides. Lived playing pool with a glass of wine or two & touring Blue Ridge & surrounding areas. So much to do & see. Luckily no rain or not sure my vehicle would’ve made it to the cabin.

My husband and I highly enjoyed our stay here! The cabin was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. It was very clean and my favorite part was the fireplace in the living room. If your cold all the time like me then turn the fireplace on! I promise it will heat up the house for you! We loved watching tv in front of the fireplace and playing pool downstairs. We couldn’t figure out the fireplace in the dinning room (the pilot light wasn’t on and we didn’t want to mess with it but the other two worked great!). We went for a walk around the mountain while it was snowing and the views are beautiful. We saw about 5 or 6 deer on one of our walks. Overall, a perfect cabin! We also loved the gates to keep the dogs in and the fencing around the porch. Very handy for anyone with dogs! We will definitely be staying here again in the future :)

Tips for incoming renters:
*use google maps to find the cabin (the iPhone maps app does not take you to the exact spot if you’re having trouble finding it and it’s dark outside )

* use fireplace to heat up the house- that was the first thing we did every morning and it works perfectly!

*the bedding is very nice but if your a cold person like me , I recommend bringing a few extra blankets.

*when parking , we did a three point turn so that the front of the car was facing out - it will make your life easier when leaving

*the giant closet in the bathroom has hangers if you like to hang your clothes when you arrive

*owner provided a roll of paper towels, dish soap, and dish scrubby . There was TP loaded in both bathrooms but if you think you’ll use more than you may want to bring a few extra

:) love this place !

The deck both covered and uncovered steals the show. We spent a lot of time enjoying the view. The home is located on a dead end street and feels very secluded. There are nothing but trees surrounding you that it feels like you’re in a giant treehouse. The home is well taken care of, spacious, clean and has everything you need. Close to both Blue Ridge and Elijay, we would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for a little get away and found it wasn’t really cooler temps but just nice to be out of town. The cabin is on a dirt/gravel road and a steep driveway. The road was a little rough in some areas but not to bad. The only thing I would suggest is if you want to bbq you may want to bring your own. The one that is there was rusty and old. My husband wanted to use the fireplace and that was not working properly as well but with the heat outside we didn’t really need it. Other than that it was very cozy, clean, and very accommodating. We really enjoyed it and will be back in the future.
Manager response:

The cabin was beautiful and provided a great stay. We enjoyed the time at the cabin, views, pool table, etc. The single lane road to the cabin is a bit dangerous, though, as the steep gravel road near the cabin is washing away and leaving unavoidable deep ruts, and other parts of the road had potholes. A high profile vehicle would do fine, but our car bottomed out a couple of times.

The cabin was beautiful, very clean and the kitchen well equipped. I love to cook, so very happy with the kitchen.
The views were spectacular.
With in 15 minutes of the quiant town of Blue Ridge. Plenty of restaurants and shopping.
Would recommend to everyone.

The house, amenities, cleanliness and were impeccable for a truly relaxing and very secluded stay!!
Will definitely rent again and looking forward to that trip!!
Jessica S. Jul 2020
What a great cabin! Beautifully decorated, great view, well-equipped and plenty of space to spread out. Our girls (3 and 5) loved everything about it! There is a beautiful small screened-in porch and a nice big deck, however not much outdoor space to play for kids, since it's on a steep hill. No complaints, though!
Lynne S. May 2020
We have no difficulty driving on mountain roads, but the road to this cabin was rough ... in some places the rosds were seriously eroded. Cabin was nice, but the total effect was damaged by the dirty outside deck spaces (the large outside decks were ine of the reasons we selected this cabin).

Inside was nice, clean snd the beds comfotable. Kitchen lighting wasn't great, but we managed.

Loved the tree-top feel if the cabin, but probably wouldn't go back before talking with the property manager for an update on the roads and outdoor space.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Lynne. We appreciate your valuable feedback and local staff and the owner are working on the road. We apologize for the housekeeping issues you experienced outside! Please know this is not our standard and we have taken measures to ensure our housekeeping team is adhering to our Premium Clean standards. We hope for another chance to better impress you in the near future!

We loved the seclusion the home offered and we love the space it provided. It was well decorated and the I even shot a game of pool. Thank you for allowing us this time to reconnect and for sharing your home.
John T. Mar 2020
It was very appealing, as far as decor and size/amenities. The view is very good, and it is really quiet and beautiful location. Being in between Blue Ridge and Ellijay, it was perfect for us.
Natalie A. Feb 2020
We enjoyed our stay at High Bear Nation. The cabin is exactly as pictured. The road to the cabin is gravel and has a few tight turns – we were able to make it easily in our sedan. We saw deer outside the kitchen window almost every morning of our stay. We even got an afternoon of snow which was beautiful to watch from the cabin’s gorgeous views. We were very close to downtown Blue Ridge and visited a few local restaurants and trails. Lake Blue Ridge Loop was a beautiful, easy hike that we were able to do with our two year old. We’d definitely stay again.
