Clean and comfortable 1 br with pull out couch. 2 full bathrooms were perfect for 2 friends sharing the unit.

The place is in need of some upgrades and a coat of paint. Carpet in the bedroom? It's an ISLAND, with sand everywhere. Also, we were given 3 trash bags and a hand full of dishwasher pods and 2 small tiny bags of laundry detergent... FOR 15 days. Hated this unit. It has ZERO view, except of trees, and the walkway to the pool. You can kinda see the pool from the lanai, if you bob & weave your head. Wailea Grand Champions is gorgeous but I will *NEVER* and I mean ****NEVER**** book with Vacasa again. My rez was cancelled twice due to "owners cancelling their contract with Vacasa" and the last cancellation was 13 days from departure. Vacasa gave me 4 other options on the whole island. 2 looked like they hadn't seen an upgrade since 1972 with carpet throughout and green appliances, a unit in Kihei and this unit. This seemed like the best of the 4.

Location was great close to beaches , shopping & restaurants. The condo was clean but is aged and badly needs updating . Bed was comfortable but a King would have been nice , master bath needs a new shower head as it was either such a fine mist or a turbo massage but neither got enough water to be comfortable. The microwave didn’t work took a couple of days to get a loaner . Light bulbs in second bathroom needed changing , lighting was poor in the whole unit . Upstairs neighbors were like a heard of elephants most of the days .

The unit was spacious and clean and looked just like the photos. I appreciated that there was a nice desk for working, *and* a computer monitor I could plug my laptop into. I picked it because hotel prices were ridiculous and this was near the conference I needed to attend. I was very surprised to find that there wasn't one bit of toilet paper in the unit. I've never stayed in a vacation rental before, but it seems that this should be provided! There was no hot water until the very end of my stay, the microwave died on my last night, and the bedroom TV didn't work. I like to sleep with a lot of pillows but only 2 were on the bed. There were plenty of spare pillows around, but no linens for them, unfortunately. There was a thoughtful welcome amenity of some snacks. I appreciated the gesture - but I would have rather had toilet paper.

1-Water failed in the Condo for one entire day and emergency call center didn’t bother to call back. The nr provided for emergency is a recorder where I’ve left a msg - no reply.
2- Bed / sofa for the kids was not done. For someone arriving late at night and getting an extra challenge to find out the sheets and pillows was not nice.
3- Toilet towels were not used for some time and two were dirty (with bug remains).
4- We had only 3 toile paper rolls for 4 persons for a week. Again, not nice to force guests to go to a supermarket to buy such a cheap thing. It’s really miserly.

So the location is right in Wailea and walking distance to the Shops of Wailea. 2 minute drive to Wailea Beach. Very convenient.

This unit is located right next to the pool but it's fairly quiet.

Now the bad. The unit has an ant/bug problem and it is ongoing as proven through the amount of ant killer and pesticides available in the unit. I understand that it's a tropical location and a few bugs here and there shouldn't be a problem but when there's 50 on the counter it's pretty disgusting and more than what we should expect.

The pillows available in the unit should be thrown out as they're all covered in mold. We had to use the pull out couch which we found more of those little bugs (not bed bugs). Additionally, the mattress protector was beyond filthy.

The room comes equipped with four beach towels and there are plenty of other Beach equipment such as umbrellas and beach chairs and boogie boards. The beach towels were not washed.

The carpet in the master bedroom needs a good steam clean.

An agent from the rental company did call and was very pleasant her name is Char, and tried to address my concerns in a timely fashion as well. I asked them to bring me new pillows as well as beach towels. The beach towels arrived however there must have been some miscommunication because new pillows did not arrive but pillowcases did. They provided a new mattress cover.

I would recommend this unit based on location and convenience, Wailea is beautiful and best the Four Seasons and Wakefield Astoria where we spent a good amount of our time.

But buyer beware on the state of this unit. It was not bad overall but while we're a family with fairly high standards, we sort of rolled with it as if it were condo camping. I rate it 1 out of 5.

Considering that it is not cheap to stay anywhere in Maui and we paid a fair bit for these accommodations, ESPECIALLY the cleaning fees, we shouldn't have to had experienced such things but I doubt that Vacasa will offer us anything in terms of compensation.
