Use of outdoor grills on decks, porches, balconies, and underneath houses is prohibited. Grills are sometimes provided in common areas at condominiums, however, we cannot guarantee their working order or availability.
Endangered Sea Turtles nest and hatch on the Gulf Coast. Be Sea Turtle friendly by observing the
following:
No flashlights or flash photography on the beach at night.
Turn off the patio and shield bright indoor lights at night.
Never disturb Sea Turtle nests. Leave Sea Turtle tracks undisturbed.
Do not leave trash on the beach.
And of course - never ever pick up or touch the turtles.
Wild Sea Oats are protected plant species and are vital to the stabilization of sand dunes by preventing erosion. Picking sea oats or harvesting the seeds is against the law.
Sand dunes play a major role in protecting. beaches and surrounding sea life. Always use dune walks, boardwalks, and other designated paths to the water and never walk through the dune system.
Items prohibited on the beach: glass, fireworks, metal shovels, firearms, litter, fires, tents/large structures, pets (except fort morgan), overnight camping, vehicles.
Always take notes of flags flying on the public beach areas before entering the water.
Green flag = calm conditions.
Yellow flag = moderate surf/currents.
Red Flag = High surf/strong currents, illegal to swim during this time.
Double Red Flags = Surf and currents are so rough the water is closed to the public.
Purple Flag = Dangerous marine life present (sharks, jellyfish, skates, etc).
Portable cribs, baby beds, and high chairs are available for a rental fee from local businesses.
