San Juan #3 Getaway Unit #3 - San Diego, CA

We loved the location! We took full advantage of the boardwalk & beach all day everyday. I liked that I could do laundry daily which made unpacking when home easy. Having the full kitchen helped us keep food costs down as well. Overall a great place in the right location that was family friendly.

My family of four loved this place! The location is awesome being literal steps to the beach, the beds and pillows are comfortable, and there's plenty of space. There is some deferred cosmetic maintenance and the furnishings are showing wear but nothing that detracted from our comfort or enjoyment. The picture of the second bedroom with the bunk beds with individual TVs is old. The individual TVs are gone and there is now one large wall mounted TV. My kids, 12 and 10, had been excited to have their own TVs so were a little disappointed. But they didn't watch TV in the bedroom so wasn't a big deal. Beware, the bathrooms in the bedrooms provide zero privacy so hopefully you're super close with those you're traveling with. The frosted glass is only about 5', so if you're taller than 5' or sitting on the top bunks, you can see everything and everyone in the bathroom. There is also a public restroom sized gap between the doors and glass walls. The third bathroom has a solid door so that bathroom got the most use. We worked out a system for the other two bathrooms but would have preferred solid doors or frosted glass that went all the way up and no gap.
The balcony/patio is the perfect place to people watch and catch incredible sunsets. Bring a hat to truly enjoy using the balcony/patio as the afternoon sun is strong and there is no shade. The condo is within walking distance to restaurants, cafes, stores, Belmont Park, a grocery store, and a pharmacy. The ocean walk is just outside the door, perfect for exploring South Mission Beach to the pier at Pacific Beach. The bay is just a couple blocks away.
Self check-in is easy. The parking garage is a little tight. Not complaining because off street parking is an awesome feature. A word of caution about the sliding glass door when you leave for your day's adventure. Be sure the security bar is flat in the channel, and not propped at an angle. If it isn't flat, it presses the jam against the front door and then the front door doesn't open. We found that out the hard way. But customer service was responsive and we were able to figure out the issue and get back in the home before maintenance could be dispatched.
Overall, the condo is a great place to relax after a long day of walking, driving, and sightseeing. And a perfect viewing spot for those spectacular San Diego sunsets!

This place is on a great location, on the boardwalk in central Mission Beach, and was clean. It would be great for families with older children. It has two bunk beds and a king bed.

The downside: it needs updating. Bathrooms are designed for looks, not function. The whole place looks “tired”, but it’s mostly cosmetic. That said, there are reportedly new owners who will likely update the place.

Overall would recommend due to the location and cleanliness, but at the price listed it should be upgraded.
