Cozy cabin with views, wraparound porch & private hot tub - close to town

The Smoky Mountain cabin of your dreams awaits with this charming hillside home, tucked into the trees and offering spectacular mountain views. And, despite being minutes from central Bryson City, you’ll feel a million miles away from it all in this secluded spot. The rocking chairs on the wraparound deck were made for morning coffee. After you’ve woken up a bit, head inside to make breakfast. The log-cabin charm continues throughout the home, with hardwood floors and vaulted, knotty-pine ceilings. The chef will love the well-equipped, modern kitchen, with all the appliances and counter space necessary to prepare a feast - or just a snack for the trail.

You’re surrounded by hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing, waterfalls, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and tubing opportunities, not to mention the charming shops and restaurants of Bryson City. No matter how you spend the day, leave some time to enjoy your lovely home. Fire up the gas grill on the front porch and enjoy a family cookout at home. Make time for a late-afternoon snooze in the hammock, and then head inside to watch a DVD or play a board game in front of the gas fireplace. End the evening soaking in the hot tub or gathered around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and watching the lightning bugs come out. Drift off to sleep, dreaming of another perfect vacation day tomorrow.

Love the location and the cabin in self!

The house is lovely and decorated very nicely. The views are stunning, and the property gives you that cabin vibe. You are also very close to downtown and other outdoor activities.

Aside from the aesthetics, the property needs maintenance very severely, and we had no way to call someone and ask for assistance; they appeared only to have online messaging, which did not seem available at times. The water has a very high sulfur count causing it to smell like rotten eggs; the house needs a water filtration system. It made it almost completely unusable, making your hair and skin smell terrible. I recommend bringing bottled water and ice if you are staying there. We ended up not showering in the end; it was that bad.

The outdoor porch is beautiful, but the lighting on the side does not work so we couldn't use the hot tub for that long; we didn't want our kids playing in the dark.

Additionally, the driveway is gravel and is not maintained; it is down to patchy dirt spots causing you to spin tires when going uphill. We got stuck with our front-wheel drive van and had to leave it parked on top of the hill, to avoid getting further stuck. These were the warmer weather days, with no snow in sight. I recommend only going with a 4-wheel drive vehicle for any day of the year. Lastly and most importantly, the HVAC makes loud humming noises at night, making it almost impossible for a light sleeper to rest appropriately. Given these issues, im rating it three stars, but it could easily be a 5-star property if they addressed these issues. We had beautiful memories and made the best of it.

We loved the place we just had issues getting to it, from the Vacasa app it takes you to 55 Kirkland Mountain LN, but that is incorrect. For our google maps to work we had to enter in 55 Kirkland Mountain Rd. just a heads up

We enjoyed our 2 day stay in this beautiful home. The kitchen was well stocked, clean, good Wi-Fi connection, and secluded enough to have privacy but close enough to town. Check-in and Check-out was easy. The gas grill worked great and was clean. The wraparound porch was nice and the home decor was tasteful and pleasing. The only reasons I gave it four stars and not five are for minor things that didn’t ruin our stay but would have made our stay even more enjoyable. The first being the water. The smell of the water was VERY unpleasant (rotten eggs) We had to make an extra trip to town and purchase water to cook with and our own ice. The Jacuzzi works and it’s warm but needs maintenance. More than half of the jet’s did not work, I’m not sure if the stains on the seats were due to the water quality, and the water didn’t get as hot as most jacuzzi’s. The driveway and The Great Escape sign could be more visible to make it easier for guest to find. Especially at night. Overall we enjoyed our short stay and the host was easy and pleasant to work with.
Manager response:
Tammy, thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are glad you enjoyed our lovely home. The water does have a natural sulfur smell to it and I'm sorry if this caused any inconvenience to you during your stay. Upon inspection, the hot tub can take a little time to heat up but has been found to be working properly. We look forward to hosting you for a great stay in the future.

Staying at this property was a true vacation. The views from the bedrooms and porch were picture-worthy. There is lots of indoor space, toys, books, and dvds. Importantly, the kitchen contained the pots, pans, and utensils required to feed a group.

We really enjoyed the stay, thanks looking forward to do it again in the near future 😀

Loved everything. The only reason I give 4 stars is that the internet and WiFi w were sketchy. Much of the time we didn’t have connection. Tried to take a shower in the main floor bathroom and couldn’t adjust it. It was all hot or all cold. Moved to upstairs and no problems with that one. All in all we did enjoy our stay.
Manager response:
Hi, Theresa! We're glad you chose to stay with us. Internet in the mountains is very spotty, so we aren't able to do anything about that amenity. A plumber has been out to take care of the hot and cold water in the shower. Thank you!
