This place was great, fulfilled all our needs for a four day weekend. Love, love, love the location. On top of a mountain between small towns with lots of dining and shopping, and of course the casino in Cherokee. Completely private and comfortable.

Loved the view, the hot tub, comfy beds, and privacy,

As advertised, the gravel road up to the cabin is well-maintained; the road is steep, but not scary; there are large, convex mirrors for increased visibility at sharp curves; good signage indicating which road to take; in addition to the ceiling fans, a floor fan is provided for hot sleepers; and lots of windows to let in all that wonderful mountain air. We had a very relaxing time.

The view is breathtaking. The cabin is incredible. The road to the cabin is a piece of cake! I have a front wheel drive crossover and had no problem on the road.

The cabin had the most breathtaking views from every room in the house and they never got old. The beds were extremely comfortable and we really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The cabin was clean for the most part but the floors could have been cleaned a bit better. There was quite a bit of dirt and stickiness in the kitchen that we swept and wiped up ourselves. The kitchen had the basic necessities and we made it by as best as we could. We cooked a few nights we were there and there wasn’t any Saran Wrap, Tin foil, containers or plastic baggies to store leftover food. The drive up and down the mountain was a bit nerve wracking at times and the directions provided are a bit off so we got lost trying to find the cabin. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back. It was the best cabin on the mountain and we loved how remote and quiet it was. There are also so many things to do in the area! We had an amazing vacation.

This cottage was the perfect place for our family of 4 to enjoy the Smoky Mountains! The view from the back deck is breathtaking and we enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub almost every night. Beds were very comfortable. The house is located at the end of a long, steep gravel road so I would definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there. Thank you for a wonderful week!

House was neat and clean. Kitchen had plenty of items for preparing quick meals. Beds were comfortable. The view was wonderful. A comfy, quiet place to relax and unwind. We had a great time. We will definitely look to use this home again when in the area.

Great views. Great experience. Highly recommended. Small quibble: the main bed is a little old and should probably be replaced.

We loved our stay at Bear Necessities! The cabin is cozy and the view is spectacular! We took full advantage of the hot tub and the fireplace. We also did some sight seeing in the area.. found the Elk and snow tubing was a blast! We played Jenga and put together a couple of the puzzles. Thanks to prior guests for marking the ones with missing pieces. It was a great family get away, thanks for the hospitality!

Nicely furnished
Great Hot Tub, overlooking the valley below & good for star gazing
Comfortable bed

This cabin was absolutely wonderful.
After a long day of work and some time/money well spent in the casino, relaxing in the hot tub and looking out over the mountains was all one could ask for.
The cabin was very well maintained and was stocked with everything you would need for a short or long stay.
I would be conscious of the drive-in and plan accordingly. The mountain road leading up to the cabin might be tricky for some people if you are not used to driving in the mountains, especially at night.
All-in-all I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who needs to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

The home is absolutely beautiful and has an amazing view. One of the most comfortable places we have ever stayed. We wish we could have just stayed there the entire time!! We can't wait to go back! The only catch is the road to the house is a bit rough so I would not suggest during bad weather.
Corey S. Sep 2019
The house was immaculate, pictures truly don't do it justice. Everything was clean and we'll laid out, the kitchen was wonderfully equipped and the bedrooms/beds are super comfortable with amazing views.
We've been going to the area for a few years now and have never stayed somewhere with such a breath taking view.

The gravel road on the way up gets a bit steep but we managed just fine in a Honda fit, so pretty much every car should be able to make it. We got there in the dark the first night and it took a bit to find the place, just go slow and it will be alright!

We will definitely be back!!
