This is a very quiet and comfortable home. We had a great time, vry relaxing. Convenient location, great local shops within walking distance. I would highly recommend this rental for your stay in Seattle.

This house was adorable with a great kitchen and the perfect space for a couple visiting adult children. Very well stocked and clean, on a quiet street but walking distance to a gourmet market and great coffee. Would definitely rent again! Ample parking in front and a tight spot at the back. To get to the house, you must climb stairs…those at the front are stone and can be slippery when wet.

My husband, senior pup, and I loved our stay at this historic Craftsman-style house! We really appreciated the fully equipped kitchen laden with everything we needed including fresh coffee, a drawer full of spices, and a pantry with basics like rice, olive oil, etc. We were invited to our friends' Easter brunch, so the spices were especially handy when I made deviled eggs for the party. Everything else we needed I found at Ken's Market a 5-minute walk away. I spent most nights snuggled on the sofa beside the gas fireplace reading or watching television. We chose the farthest bedroom with a view of the garden. The bed was a little firmer than we're used to, but there were plenty of soft comforters we could cozy up with on cold nights. The bathroom also had all the storage, toiletries, towels, and tissue we needed. I was also in love with all the adorable, fluffy visitors I saw with my French press coffee every morning—black-capped chickadees, hummingbirds, robins, scrub-jays, squirrels, and crows. I hope the neighbors weren't weirded out by all the watercolor bird reference photos I took! The sunny reading nook in the kitchen was also a prime nature viewing spot. Spring when everything is in full bloom is definitely one of the best times to visit Seattle and stay in this beautiful house. My husband, pup, and I hope to visit again soon.

This is a lovely home with a great location. There is a nearby neighborhood market that is within walking distance, green lake park is just down the road with a great dog park that our dogs enjoyed. There is easy access to a thoroughfare that gets you to all the places to check out that Seattle has to offer. The neighborhood is quiet and has a cute charm to it. We will definitely plan on staying here again if it’s available.

Perfect for what we needed. Good, well-stocked kitchen, clean and simple (easy to child proof for small toddlers). Would definitely stay again.

Perfect for our needs. We were visiting family for Christmas and stayed here w our two pups. Had the usual Seattle rain and then day after Christmas snow. Great area for walking around.
House is cute and everything works.

My wife and I had a lovely four-day stay at the Phinneywood Bungalow visiting our daughter and her family. The appliances, internet (measured at 150 Mb/s) and heating have been modernized. Pleasantly, the old neighborhood charm of the house remains intact. The house is very comfortable as were we during our stay. The kitchen nook is the ideal place to scan the news over the first cup of coffee in the morning.

Phinney Ridge is a great neighborhood. The house is just one block down the hill from Woodland/Phinney Ave which sports Ken’s Market and Deli, Nutty Squirrel Gelato and Greenwood Hardware which has been in business for 70 years. It is a few blocks up the hill from Green Lake with lots of hiking and biking trails. And a short five-minute drive to Woodland Park and Zoo.

All the houses in this neighborhood require climbing steps or up the alley and this property is no exception. Instructions for entering and leaving arrived electronically. We were a bit surprised that there was no book containing all relevant instructions, codes and operating hints.

This is a charming, well furnished and comfortable bungalow in a great location. Well equipped kitchen (including a prep sink), thick towels (!!), cozy fireplace, lovely yard, many thoughtful touches, interesting artwork, and restaurants & amenities in walking distance. In probably 10 years of VRBO-type rentals, this was the best. The only modification we had to make was to place a couple of objects along the bottom of the alley gate, to keep our Corgi in the yard. He loved watching all the birds in the trees. Thanks to the owners for such a nice property.

Good place for about 3 or so people. Gets tight after that. Besides that, wonderful place!
Sara K. Jun 2021
This two bedroom house was quiet, clean and tasteful. A tiny building with heat and a chair was used by people for private zoom meetings. The two-sink kitchen was large and fully equipped with better saucepans than my own.

We were visiting our daughter in the neighborhood and this spot was perfect. Great location, extremely well maintained, great management/hosts. Definitely will be back again and again.

Great location in Phinney Ridge close to restaurants and cafes and a store, as well as Green Lake. However, when we arrived it was clear the house hadn’t been cleaned completely (towels on floor, paper towels on mantle, etc etc). Also- wood floors need work in a couple places where small nails snag socks! Otherwise, a nice cozy place.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry the home was not cleaned as thoroughly as is our standard upon arrival. We strive for a standard of excellence in ensuring the home is clean and accommodating for our guests. If there are any concerns or areas in need of additional attention, we hope to be notified so we can make sure any issues are addressed. We look forward to hosting you for a great stay in the future!

Great location and quiet neighborhood. Loved the character and charm of the home. Conveniently located—easy walk to the market, restaurants, Green Lake Park, and the Zoo. Would definitely stay here again!

Searching for a safe way to travel during the pandemic? We needed to get away from all zoom all the time. We rented this very sweet 2 bedroom bungalow and drove up to Seattle to visit old friends. The house was spotlessly clean in a delightful neighborhood. We loved the kitchen and the sitting area, especially. The backyard sitting area was also an absolute delight on sunny days. The house was snug and warm on the cool, rainy nights. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen utensils, hair dryer, umbrella and other small items that kept us comfortable the whole time. Perfect for the two of us!

The location was great. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get up to the house but we enjoyed the climb. The house is lovely and so homey - we just felt immediately comfortable. The house was also warm and cozy - with a beautiful gas fireplace and forced air which was easy to control. We appreciated the excellent washer and dryer in the basement as we stayed a week. We especially loved the kitchen, the shower and the comfortable bed in the master. Also we appreciated the dog friendly aspect of the house which was necessary for us and the safe neighborhood for late night walking. I should also mention that we were able to walk to Green Lake from the house and take the dogs all around the lake, and walk back. What a bonus! Thanks very much to the owners who make it so special!

This property matched the description and was everything I expected. Nice fireplace, lovely kitchen, & good morning sunrise nook. Bonus office in the side yard. On a steep hillside to give you that true Seattle experience.

This is a lovely small craftsman style bungalow in a nice neighbourhood of Seattle. Very warm and inviting and ideal for visiting with dog because of fenced yard and close to Greenlake for walks. Also close to supermarket, cafes and restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked, comfortable beds and cozy fireplace.
We hope to return.

Great location, warm and comfortable with cute furniture. Back yard and tiny house were a huge bonus.
Julie . Apr 2019
This little craftsman is in an amazing location. Half a block from a great market, pizza, gelato, and coffee. Also, walking distance from Green Lake. The space was clean. It was a little bit small for our family of four (two teen boys) but would be perfect for a family with younger kids. And we really appreciated that they allowed our dogs; the fenced yard and beautiful gardens were a nice treat.

Great little base in an awesome area of Seattle - would happily return at the first opportunity!

Beautiful house not too far from downtown seattle making sight seeing everyday a non hassle. The neighborhood has some cool shops and restaurants that are well worth exploring like Beth’s Cafe and the Green Lake.

Can't say enough about our recent stay at Phinney Ridge. The house was immaculate and well equipped. We were close by to a grocery store and many restaurants. Especially like the Ale House and Thaiku. Beds were comfortable and the fireplace was a great addition. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

My husband and I and our two dogs were in town visiting family. This home was perfect for our needs. We loved the fact that e were walking distance to Greenlake, Woodland Park Zoo, lots of great restaurants, and a grocery store. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds very comfy. Would definitely stay here again

We found Phinneywood to be cosy, comfortable and well located- close to bus stations to and from downtown, and a very good local grocery with prepared meals meant we didn't have to cook at all. As winter approached we appreciated the good central heating and the excellent thermal insulation of this cosy bungalow.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying in the Phinneywood Bungalow in early October. We were familiar with the neighborhood, and so we already knew that literally everything was just a few steps away from the house. Coffee spots, restaurants, quaint shops, and of course, Ken's Market for groceries and yummies. There really is no better location for access to the Greenwood, Phinney Ridge areas of Seattle, or easy access to anything within the city of Seattle. The house exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay -- whether that be a couple of days or an extended period of time. Approaching the bungalow is like walking through a secret garden. The landscaping is stunning. Once inside, the rooms invite you to sit and enjoy, enjoying this your urban retreat and home away-from-home. The living room has a satellite TV, fireplace, and a host of cozy chairs, ottomans, and sofas to curl up with a good book or great cup of coffee. The kitchen truly is a cook's dream - and whether you choose to grab food from one of the restaurants on Greenwood or cook it yourself, you will not lack for any cooking implement. It's all there, right down to the wine cooler. The bedrooms are inviting and super comfortable, with great beds to sink into after a long day of ... whatever strikes your fancy. And if you're lucky enough to plan your stay when the weather is good, that backyard cannot be beat. It's a private oasis of palm trees (yes, even in this climate) and bamboo, with comfortable seating and a darling bird bath to watch the feathered members of the community do their thing. We had an amazing stay here, and I am already planning our next visit back to the Phinneywood Bungalow when we visit Seattle in early 2016.

First off I have to say what a beautiful, well kept example of a craftsman house. Not only was the interior flawless so was the beautiful landscaped front and back yards. My friends and I were very comfortable and it had all the amenities that you would expect. There was also parking in the back through the alley that could fit 1 which was convenient for loading and unloading luggage. That being said one of my favorite things was how close (1 block) walking distance it was from the neighborhood local grocery store, coffee shops, vintage stores, etc. You almost don't even need a car. Also if you didn't feel like driving into downtown and paying for parking you could just walk up 1 block and hop on a bus (#5) that would take you to downtown fairly quickly. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
