Sleek Mountain Retreat | Private Hot Tub, Deck, Fire Pit, Walkable Beach Access

This private, forested 3BR/2BA retreat is a gorgeous spot year-round that sleeps six guests. With quick access to Squaw Valley Ski Resort, Lake Tahoe, and Tahoe City, you'll find no shortage of beaches, culture, and outdoor sports nearby. Top it off with a soak in the hot tub in your own backyard! Walk to Sunnyside and Hurricane Bay beach access, this property is a perfect retreat location for couples! Not a typical cabin on the western shore.

Recently renovated with new carpet, new lighting, new furnishings, and a new hot tub (among other upgrades), this rental is great for romantic retreats, couples' getaways, and family vacations alike.

INSIDE THE HOUSE

There's space for three cars to park in the driveway of this quiet forest property. Note that the house has a steep driveway; 4x4 chains are needed to make it up.

On the bottom level, you'll find the master bedroom with queen-size bed and 70in smart TV. The washer/dryer and master bathroom are also on this level, with your own stone tile walk-in shower.

Upstairs, you'll find the main living, dining, and kitchen area with gleaming wood floors. A 65in flat-screen TV hangs near the dining table for four, so you can watch from the table or the sectional sofa across the room. The built-in mini-bar (with wine fridge) and a Sonus speaker system throughout the house are clever extras.

The open, U-shaped kitchen is well-appointed with stainless steel GE Profile/KitchenAid appliances, a gas range, a French press for coffee lovers, and a fryer. The black stone countertops are elegant, and the breakfast bar seats three.

Down the hall from the kitchen are the two guest rooms, each featuring queen-size beds (both have a 55' TV). The shared and newly remodeled guest bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

Through the living room, there's a front deck with a gas grill and seating for four to dine or keep warm by the gas fire pit.

Head into the backyard using the stone path by the side of the house: here you'll find your private hot tub retreat! Wooden stairs lead up to the tub, where you'll soak in perfect silence -- even on snowy nights, you'll be warm and toasty.

Outdoor wood-burning fires and charcoal grills are prohibited per local ordinances.

THE LOCATION

The clear, calm waters of Hurricane Bay on Lake Tahoe are just a 10-minute walk from your door! Hikers, bikers, and swimmers will find no shortage of gorgeous spots to explore here, with Tahoe State Recreation Area just a few blocks away. It's an easy trip into town, only a 1.4 mile bike ride to groceries at West Shore Market, or perhaps have a meal at Spoon.

If you're here for the skiing, you're in luck! A 20-minute drive will take you to either Squaw Valley, Homewood Mountain, or Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. In the summer, horseback riding, river rafting, or kayaking will call you. Whenever you visit, the world is your oyster here by Lake Tahoe.

The home was comfortable, clean, and extremely well-equipped! We really took advantage of the hot tub and fire table! The home is in a quiet neighborhood, about a 5 min drive to a couple restaurants and a park! Very close to bike path! I would highly recommend this home if you'd like to stay in this area of Lake Tahoe.

We had a great stay, and loved all the living areas to hang out, especially outside for great July weather.

The street is tucked away, and quiet. The kids were able to run and play safely.

There was no mention of the electified bear doormat, would have loved to have had instructions to turn that off first (i was barefoot when I opened the door).

Would definitely recommend this place for one or two small families. Hot tub was awesome too!
Manager response:
Hi, Mark! It's wonderful to read you enjoyed your stay. Please accept our apologies for the shock you received. Information regarding the doormat have been provided. Thank you!
