Recent Alabama Gulf Coast guest reviews

We loved the house. Yes, it is older but it has lots of updates and the only thing dated at all is the bathrooms and that didn't bother us a bit. The wraparound porch is the best thing about the house and its view of the Gulf. The living room furniture was comfortable and appreciated by our guests, everyone had a comfy seat/recliner for the football game. We saw lots of dolphins the first day and tons of birds and the Monarch butterflies that were migrating through during our visit. There is a Little Free Library at the base of the street with lots of nice books in it. I wish I had known so I could have donated a couple to replace 2 that we borrowed. We have stayed on the island so many times and this is in our top 2 houses we have ever stayed in. The grill was practically new and clean and was ready to go. The oven wouldn't work for us one night when we wanted to reheat some pizza for dinner. but we got by with the microwave. We had lots of walks on the beach, watched other beachgoers walking by and every sunrise/sunset was spectacular. Pay attention to trash days when you arrive, you'll need to roll that out to the curb, it may have the previous tenant's trash in it (depending on what day they checked out) which you'll need to have thiers picked up if you want to leave YOUR trash in the can. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen and bathrooms. We did use our laundry soap we brought and I think they provided one dishwasher tablet. You might want to bring a blanket or two if you need one for watching TV or on the porch. There were lots of towels and kitchen items. You'll need to bring some xtra ziplocks and trash bags. Buy your seafood before you get to the island, Skinners is terribly expensive. Run by nearby Bayou la Batre to get your shrimp, crab etc if you are cooking it.

Amazing house directly on the beach. We loved our stay there and can highly recommend it. Nice furniture in all the rooms, really comfortable beds. Loved watching the dolphins in the ocean in front of us.

Alabama Gulf Coast rentals on Dauphin Island

Dauphin Island is Alabama Gulf Coast life at its finest. The beautiful (and pet-friendly!) beaches are easily accessible from the mainland by highway, so Dauphin Island vacation rentals are a popular escape from nearby Mobile. The Estuarium, also known as the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, offers a glimpse into the Gulf’s diverse underwater life. If you have a boat or want to rent one, put it in at the marina and explore the Mobile Bay’s calm waters.
