About Port Gamble

Looking for the ideal balance between easily accessible big-city sights, the stunning natural beauty of the Olympic Peninsula, and a quiet, small-town atmosphere? Look no further than our vacation rentals in the charming community of Port Gamble, tucked away just south of Whidbey Island.

Quaint Attractions in Port Gamble

The first thing you'll notice when you wake up in your lovely Port Gamble vacation rental are the gorgeous surroundings of the Olympic Peninsula. Gentle ocean waves by the marina, miles of dense pine trees across the water, and beaches littered with pebbles that offer excellent clamming during the right season.

Breathe in some ocean air as you watch boats bobbing by the docks, but don't forget to see the other sights of this small town on the Sound. Old buildings like the Walker-Ames house boast impressive architecture seen in small movies and shows, while the town itself has several antique and craft shops. Sip on a cup of hot cocoa at the old-fashioned General Store & Café and fall into a leisurely pace of life!

Other Sights on the Sound

Port Gamble is perfectly positioned as a home base for your next stay in the Puget Sound area. Just 18 miles to the south is Bainbridge Island, a lovely locale full to the brim with amazing attractions. Everything from relaxing on mile after mile of beachfront to sailing out in the welcoming waters of the Sound and catching a delicious wriggling fish is available for you.

Go for a relaxing nature hike at Bloedel Reserve or Fort Ward, then treat yourself to a sip of wine at one of the area's vineyards before heading north to Whidbey Island, only 40 miles away! From more natural beauty at parks like Deception Pass to small-town sights from Freeland to Coupeville, the island is more than worth a quick trip from your charming vacation rental.

Day Trip to Seattle

Perhaps the most stunning thing about a stay in Port Gamble is just how close your vacation rental is to the hustle and bustle of the Emerald City. Seattle is only 28 miles and a scenic ferry ride to the southeast, making spending a day marveling at its skyscrapers and sights incredibly quick and easy.

The ferry drops you off in the city's waterfront district, where you can treat yourself to some delicious seafood at Pike Place Market before learning more about the wonders of the ocean at the city's aquarium just nearby. To the south, you can head to Centurylink Field and enjoy an exciting game surrounded by cheering crowds, while to the north, world-famous sights like the Space Needle await you, along with shopping, dining, and a lovely atmosphere in the city's Queen Anne District.
