Loved the house and River. Was difficult to get here
Stephen M. Aug 2021
The place was nice but stuff did not work and no phone.
Manager response:
Hello Stephen, thank you for your feedback. Due to this rental's remote location, cell service is spotty at the home and there is no landline. There is WiFi available and TVs for our guests to use.

We loved being close to the Tuck, but we like to kayak the upper part of the river. Plus being close to Sylva, Dillsboro and Bryson City is also a plus. The owners and surrounding neighbors are very accommodating and helpful.

Overall a great place, yes a little noisy, with Hwy 74 across the river, and the path getting to house was a little nerve racking but then again your in the mountains! House was very nice, couldn't check in until later cause of cleaning crew but counter too we're still dirty, but really not an issue I just cleaned them!

Loved the house! Highway 74 can be a little noisy but other than that it is the perfect place to come back to and relax.

The house was perfect for our family of 5. Beautifully done inside. The location on the river was great for my fisherman husband. Caught at least 10 trout from the front yard. The traffic that others mentioned didn’t really bother us. We had a wonderful vaca at this location.

Love the place.

This home is a great base-camp for visiting the national park nearby. Great amenities, clean and easy drive into nearby towns. The only downside is highway 74 is immediately across the river and a very busy highway so if you’re looking to escape into nature this isn’t the space for you. All around a positive home.

The cabin was very clean and had plenty of cooking pots, pans, utensils, etc. The grill works great. The hot tub was relaxing. We enjoyed our stay.

If you’re looking for a home (not a cabin) with close proximity to the park/casino/parkway, close to grocery stores, and a place to wind down after a long day out, this is a perfect home for the price. It’s very secluded and one of only a couple homes on the mountain with direct river access. The house was very clean. My ONLY negative is the road noise from across the river, but we had sounds machines for the baby and were able to drown out the noise easily. We would stay again.

It was very relaxing. I loved that the house was clean. Loved the hot tub outside, and in the kitchen there is everything you need if you decide to cook. Nice neighborhood. Not to far from the city if you need to go shopping. It was a pleasure staying in Walking on Water.

We really enjoyed our stay. I felt like it was stocked with everything needed plus some extras. *The only thing I would caution people about is the highway noise while outside, if you’re looking to enjoy the water/nature. From inside the home you couldn’t hear anything.
Other than that, nothing. We would recommend this place.

The pictures don’t do it justice! This house has a great layout it was immaculately clean had everything you could need tons of towels etc. The drive in is very beautiful and the outdoor living is wonderful. We did not turn on the TV once! There’s so much to do nearby including tubing fishing hiking and while at home we were outdoors practically the entire time. Highly recommend.

First time visit to the area enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. The home was exactly like the pictures nicely furnished and spacious. Enjoyed relaxing on the deck watching the river. My family enjoyed the time and we will definitely be coming back again. The gravel road to get there was a little nerve racking but once you reach the home its beautiful and peaceful

Nice place, great furniture, nice appliances, kitchen nicely stocked except pans stick horribly, great water view, spacious. Smelled of stale smoke in the house, evidence of smoking on porch. Heat pump is very loud and right outside bedroom window. Had an extremely difficult time adding an extra day at the beginning of my trip. I have owned several short term rentals and always loved someone wanting to fill my vacancy that would otherwise be unrentable. Instead it took several emails from bots and the night was 25% more than the other nights purchased. Fishing was great but it would have been nice to know before the game warden showed up that the small stretch of the river in front of the house is off limits in March.

The house is very nice and well equipped. It was a little noisy with the traffic on 74
Manager response:
We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay! We apologize that the traffic caused the home to be a bit noisy, but we hope that it was still a relaxing vacation for you! Thank you for your feedback!

This home was perfect for my vacation stay, so clean and modern, it had everything we wanted from the hot tub to the grill! Thank you for such a pleasant place to stay!!
Nancy M. Jul 2019
Very well kept and nicely furnished cabin. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed that it was off the beaten path and the view is great. The hot tub was an appreciated perk after a day of trail hiking. Would definitely recommend.

The owner lives a couple houses over and is very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Great people. Beautiful place. Stayed there many times. Can’t wait to go back.
